Hell has many many ways it's described. One says, all souls that will go there, will boil in tarr for eternity, another says about being stabbed with tridents. And also there's one with working in manufacture, I guess that's where mechanical part comes from. I think tower is great - no it should not be randomized. Throwing orbs at towers, boosting their dmg for moment and unstunning them is great idea, and I do think, we could get more Boosters in the future. Spectre does boost dmg but it's crazy ammount, also makes price higher and it's permanent. There's a lot of ways boosting can be done differently, and it will make tactics even more complex
I don't really know if that's where the mechanical side of things comes from. As for the support, they didn't really give us much detail except unstun and boost. Maitake can hit multiple towers, we aren't sure if it only hits one or multiple in that area. As for the boost, It doesn't seem to really add much if it only boost for a bit, while spectre can boost permanently as long as he's on the field. Plus we don't even know how much the tower will boost compared to spectre. If it were released the way you wanted, it just get overshadowed.
For the new tower on shed I think when it throws its toxic bomb the heroes around it will get a dmg boost like spec for a little bit but I don’t know if it will stack, I also think it can heal summons like maitake or smth

i personally dislike the pathing in my opinion. It feels kind of boring and plain to me (for a 2 path map) and it could use some creativity but if you disagree if my opinion is could see why since i know some people like this kind of pathing.
It's not so much that "I like it" its just that many maps are rejected because the path is too long or complex. there's no example or measure for it so something like this will better the odds.
yeah they're focusing on a huge update rn and they don't have time to consider adding subbed maps. This is a time where they gotta get working right after they finish the halloween event. I wouldn't call them "lazy".

I think the reason there are artificial enemies is the phrases or reference that the celestial realm are timeless or having a control over time
