Cannot understand the hype sorry... Dark(ened) lyric singing spinto roles and there are several things to be considered: Timbre isn’t beautiful, top is strained, lacks chestvoice, some constricted singing and so on...
I think instead of the quality of her voice theyve focused more on the emotion she brings to her performance s. I dont get the hype as well though ; Ive heard some far more controlled and beautiful voices.
This type of singing blurs her gifts. She's much, much better than she sounds her, and her gown distracts the listener. I think she's great, magic, miraculous, but not so much here.
