    I’ve counted as many as thirty frogs in my pond, but yours is about the biggest frog I’ve ever seen in a pond! I loved how you took us on a walk through your wooden arbor. It was as though we were waking through it together. Are those lambs ears in your curved boarder? I like that look. Gives me new inspiration. I gleen so many new ideas from you.
    I think Mr Bear loves visiting you, but making you work harder after munching on your tree. Looked like he was using the smaller tree as a back scratcher. 😂
    Your garden brings such peace. I look forward to each one. Thanks again for taking us on your walk.

      Good morning Mary! I just came back from a graduation in NYC, 3 days away from my garden seemed so long. 30 frogs! How big is you pond? I can imagine all kinds of activities going on in there🐸 the lamb’s ear on the right ware planted last fall from a clearance sale, then I bought some more this spring and planted in front of this dark conifer ( on the left), so they echo each other. I always admire the leaf shape, texture and color, plus no one will dare eat them! This spring, I’ve also planted 28 Endless Summer hydrangea (27 original +1summer crash), divided and add half dozen of my own French lace cap, summer is going to be more beautiful😊 it’s the season for the bear too, yes I think they like me, I am so lucky😜
      Thank you Mary, have a nice day🐻🐸🐝🐿💖

    Прекрасна, уникална градина ! Навярно е поне на 40-50 години. Невероятно съчетание на растителни видове, които съжителстват в хармония ! Поздравления за създателя на това прекрасно място !

    I have been imaging to live in the garden with acidic soil, so that I can grow a lot of Rhododendrons. Now, I (actually you) changed my mind. Thank you! I will enjoy more what I have now.

      Oh yes, a grateful heart is the key to happiness! People often asked me why not plant this and that, my answer is that: what you want many times is not what you need, just like life in general, our creator knows what’s the best for us, we have to humble ourself first, then excise our knowledges. Oh how I love to learn from nature by doing gardening! We all do ❤️

      Someone even asked me if the bear is my pet 😂 indeed the frogs recognized my voice and say hello to me with this very deep voice every time when I come closer or passing by. I really love them all, they are all free to come and go as they like. Nature has been a blessing to me, I wish you too💖🐻🐝🐸

    OMG, I just saw you stood in front of a black bear. You are so brave! BTW, I just planted a japanese umbrella pine this year. Hope it will like the location.

    • @gardenofpraise567
      @gardenofpraise567  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Japanese umbrella pine creates great structure in a garden! I can’t believe I have 2 golden and 3 green in my garden! Since their roots don’t go deep, try to avoid windy or wet spots, also they like lots of organic compose, keep in mind add once a year until they established. Do you know that Japan Airlines uses 高野槙’s fragrance for their first class cabin? 😊 Aha, no wonder the bears always chew on my tree😡

    Wow, Toronto is at zone 5b to 6a too. However, I've never seen a garden here like yours.Maybe I can ask the garden club to invite you to give a speech. :). Or, even for the same level of hardiness zone, the weather could be different. For example, you have acidic soil, good for Rhododendrons.
    You have a very beautiful lawn. How do you keep the weeds down?

    • @gardenofpraise567
      @gardenofpraise567  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh yes, the weather in New England is crazy, within a day, you could experience all four seasons, from sunny hot muggy, to rainy even snowy!
      Over the rears, I have learned that Northeastern America has acidic soil, not really suitable for lawns like in England. The more you treat it, the poorer the soil gets. Now not only I get rid of lawn services from big companies, I also limited so called “lawn fertilizer “ used by my headband (once in spring and one in fall), often I get mad at him when I see my ground covers at the edges die after treatment😡 . Plus, every year I crated more flower beds by decreasing lawn spaces. Some short kind of clovers are great for the soil, when they flower in spring time, my lawn reminded me the Monet garden! We have to respect nature, why try so hard to against it?
      Have I talk too much? Hahah this is my speech I guess😃. Thank you so much for your compliment, you are too kind!

  • @石针
    @石针 ปีที่แล้ว

    I cannot thank you enough for your reply and kindness. Please forgive me that I will shoot my questions right away going forward.
    I saw some ajugas in your flower bed. Are they running into your lawn? Do you have slug issues?
    You said you have many Rhodos in your garden. Did you have a chance to compare the varieties against those from west coast? I'm really curious about the difference between east coast and west coast for Rhodos. BTW, I had been a member of the Rhodo Society Toronto, until it's sunset. I grow Rhodos from seeds, but only a few survived, due to the soil and weather here.

    • @gardenofpraise567
      @gardenofpraise567  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi again😊 you are not bothering me at all, thank you! As you may have noticed, I don’t use mulch, instead I use ajuga as ground covers, so anything running out into lawn or walkways, I’ll just pick them and transplant somewhere else, even pot them, and many times, I gave them to my friends, everyone loves them. For rhododendrons, I am not an expert, I simply just take care of and enjoy them hahah😀 with all the trees, plants and ornaments in my garden, I am already mind full😅

  • @石针
    @石针 ปีที่แล้ว

    LOL. Agree, as long as they are healthy, name doesn't matter. I found I can remember the characteristics of the plants, but cannot remember their names.
    For those garden statues, do you leave them outside or bring them in? I guess you are in zone 7 (or 6b)?

    • @gardenofpraise567
      @gardenofpraise567  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am like you, knowing very little detail of each plant, how they perform, just hard to keep up with all names, they forgive me😜 actually, I am in zone 5b-6a,; northern Connecticut. Only some ceramic pots goes in door in the winter, all my garden ornaments are made of either stone, cement, iron or bronze, so they survive out there all seasons. By the way, I forgot to answer your question about the slug, somehow I am very lucky here, may because of the acidic soil? Have a nice day!

      Be honest with you, I really don’t remember hahah😅 all I know is that some do smell sweet. After a long winter, I sometimes found myself forgot some names of my flowers 😱 hey, as long as my flowers are happy, and they cheer me, that’s all the matters😊
