Lisa-X is the dark haired guitarist. Yet another Japanese prodigy. Also, Hazuki from Nemophila on the other guitarist. I don't know the vocalist here. Kotono has been the most recent vocalist from Ironbunny and was one of the Avengers of Babymetal post Yui era. Lisa-X just recently played in India at an outdoor festival. Just before Hazuki and Nemophila went on tour.

A very minor point, Kotono was not an Avenger with Babymetal but was a back-dancer. Personally I like BM but I'm not fanboy and don't care about the difference, but if you make that comment on a reaction directly connected to BM, you will get about 10 or 20 replies from BM fanboys correcting you-that happened to another guy.

@@otobokegaijin6218 I believe she was close enough to be considered, but she decided to go with Ironbunny.

The band split last year (when they split with the singer), but they have reborn as the band "Koiai" with a different singer. They actually just released their first EP on April 30th, but I haven't received my order yet, so no idea how it sounds. I have a feeling it might be not 100% for me, but I still wanted to give it a chance because Li-Sa-X and Hazuki (from Nemophila) are amazing guitarists and I don't mind supporting a young fantastic guitarist like Li-Sa-X. They have done some live shows last year in India. I have read she was asked by Guthrie Govan who was going to play there (crazy, I know), it wasn't planned at all, so they asked Kanade Sato to be a session drummer (who is an amazing jazz-fusion drummer who just turned 20) and Li-Sa-X's brother on bass.
The actual band only consists of the 2 guitarist and the singer, the other mussicians that have played on their songs have always been sessions musicians. I don't know who played on the EP yet, I am curious if Kanade Sato played on the EP as well because I really like her drumming and have done so for a while. I believe the music was composed by Li-Sa-X (the youngest/shorter gutiarist of the two).
Li-Sa-X just turned 18 last year and split with the label she had (Sony) when being a kid (from a very young age, I have seen articles mentioning her being 12 with crazy guitar skills). So I have a feeling this might be one of the reasons they had to change their name after the split with the vocalist in this video (although that's pure speculation on my part). I am curious if the songs are going to be similar to the Li-Sa-X band or if they are going to go a different direction, but Li-Sa-X is a prodigy guitarist and I hope she at least finds a way to keep showing her talent.
Edit: well I should have waited and went through the whole video before I wrote some of that info, but yeah.
Also by looking up the connecting with Li-Sa-X and Guthrie Govan, I found a cover of a Guthrie Govan track by Li-Sa-X when she was 9. So he might have been aware of her because of that.

Nice. Cheers for the info. I'll have to check out their latest incarnation "koiai". Also pretty cool that they toured India✅ Great guitarists for sure 🤘🔥

Too short with only 5 songs. Lisa X wrote the music for 4 with Hazuki credited with one. Lyrics by Lisa X and Kotono and one by Rina.

I knew it was an EP with 5 songs when I ordered it, I am relatively sure they said that beforehand. Listening to the track they released today, I suspect I won't like it too much. it's extremely poppy with auto-tuned vocals, which are one of my least favourite things in modern popular music, but that's ok.
It will probably be the last release I will buy by them if all tracks are like the one they released today, but I am sure plenty of people will like that sound and the most important thing is that artists can make the music they want to make. What fans think about it should be irrelevant because there will always be people that like it anyway and artists that are forced to create music they don't want to make will just split up after a while or their art will suffer.
The EP arrived at the proxy site I used, so it will probably be sent out either tonight my time or the night from Sunday on Monday (although it's still Golden Week until Sunday, so who knows). I will give it an honest listen when I get it and I'm happy to have supported a young band with their first release either way.

Li-sa-X (wearing the purple dress with dark hair) is pretty much a child prodigy with the guitar, she started playing as a toddler, and just knew that was the instrument for her. Lisa X was about 17 or 18 when they shot this video. She's been posting TH-cam cover videos since she was very young. Hazuki from Nemophila is the other guitarist (the one with lighter hair). Rina (vocalist) left the band within the last year, if I remember correctly, so she could attend a university. Lisa X has formed a new band with Hazuki, called KOIAI and went on tour in India a while back, with their new singer Kotono.
