      I know this won't be a popular take, but props to Sheila Hamp as well. She took over for her mother while everyone was screaming for their family to sell the team. She canned Quintricia(Bob and Matt) halfway through her first season, hired Brad and Chris, who then smartly went after kneecap bitin' Dan Campbell. My favorite moment from her so far was after week 7 last year when the team was 1-5 and she spoke to the media (Even though Rod Wood and many others told her not to) to address the concerns and to put her faith in Brad and Dan. After that, they went 8-3. For years we wanted that level of communication and trust from our owners, and we finally have it. #OnePride 🦁

      @@michaelallen3149It's been my observation that "advanced metrics" in football is just something for gamblers and fantasy players. So much depends on the game plan, your role, etc. A receiver might have a big impact as a decoy on deep routes to open the underneath, and deliver some crushing down field blocks to sustain drives and you won't see any of that in the stat sheet if he fails to catch a pass or get many targets, which was the plan,and his role,all along.

    Argument that Marvin Jones was every bit as bad as Tony. He dropped two first down catches that resulted in punts and separate drives and he fumbled inside the red zone costing his team points. The only difference between the two is his happened early in the game so it didn't seem to have as big of an impact but he makes his catches this game's probably different and the Lions win by a bigger margin

      EXACTLY what I have been saying. I’m sick of these sports analsts saying great job Detroit but if Toney catches that pass the Cheifs win. It’s a bunch of bull shit. Mahomes didn’t play good. Goff outplayed him, and our offense didn’t have the best game either. The fact that the Cheifs went 0-7 in the second half on 3rd down tells you everything you need to know as to why we won that game.

    The Lions were missing their best deep receiver(suspension) two defensive tackles, and their best defensive corner back(recovery from knee surgery). The Lions won this game in the trenches, its that simple. How about the Chiefs O-linemen? One of them lining up off side on every play, and jumping the snap count. Donovan ex buc free agent, bear hugging, holding, and tackling James Houston IV who had Mahomes in the grasp twice. Whistle should of been blown(protects the qb from injury)

    • @njm203
      @njm203 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well. Missing two DT's were healthy scratches. Likely wanted to go lighter to rush the passer. And we honestly don't know about Jamo. He might of had as many drops as Toney if he played as he has had trouble hanging onto the football in camp/preseason.
      Mosley should be an improvement over Jerry.

    • @stephensdygert7600
      @stephensdygert7600 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@njm203 Broderick Martin had a strained pectoral. Isaiah Buggs had a undisclosed illness. Jamo will be a all pro in this league, the Lions desperately need him. When he caught the td from Goff last year in the Green Bay game, that was nullified(penalty) it was scary to any one that has to cover him, how effortlessly he ran away from the Greenbay defense. Amy opposing defence will have to double cover him. Go look up, how many great receivers had dropped passes in their rookie year. Jerry Rice is one of many. The Lions passing game is handicapped by having no deep threat. Marvin Jones Jr. Is beyond his prime. Brad Holmes picked the right receiver. Go watch highlights of him at Alabama. This guy will always be the fastest player on the field. Some naysayers and propagandists love to cut this kid down, and exaggerate.

    Most experts picked KC to win, or at least 50/50. They believed they were going to win, and Mahomes was confident about winning before the game. If missing Kelce and Jones would prohibit winning, why did many of the experts choose KC BEFORE the game? Then they want to shift the goal posts AFTER the loss and play a hypothetical game where Kelce plays and catches all passes thrown to him. Any player can drop passes, including Kelce. There is no guarantee that Kelce would not drop passes. Part of the reason they believed KC would win is Kadarius Toney was a star in the recent Super-Bowl win; and was a 1st round pick. He is expected to make plays, same as Kelce. The last time KC played a non-preseason game, the S-Bowl, Toney and Kelce could catch passes. Toney or Kelce could have been affected by the Lion’s D or other factors. Why keep going back to K. Toney after two drops? That is bad decision-making. Multiple players for KC dropped passes; this loss is because KC is NOT good enough overall as a team. Detroit was missing their home run hitting wide receiver, Williams; similar to not having Kelce at KC; No mention of that by any of the ‘EXPERTS’. Detroit has won 9 of the last 11, including against a could be playoff bound Green Bay with a HOF QB, at Green Bay. Is that luck or due to teams missing players? No. This is a failure to accept a fair and square loss without making excuses. Each team selects 53 men to carry them through the season KNOWING that injuries and other issues will happen; that is part of the game. KC selected a 34-year-old tight end that is likely to be more injury prone after years in the NFL. KC has to pay Mahomes a great deal of money, so they could be lacking depth at tight end. So, they get the number one QB, but may not have depth in some cases; that is their choice. Jones would not have made a great deal of difference with the line Detroit has at this time. KC lost their OC, and that showed. The right tackle for KC should have been called multiple times for a false start, and he wasn't. Hutch would have had multiple sacks except for that being allowed. Even the refs were trying hard to favor KC. Even with KC’s cheating allowed, Detroit WON! Jones for Detroit fumbled and dropped passes. WHAT IF he and others on Detroit’s team played better? This is why there should Not be an attempt to play a hypothetical game after the actual game. Mahomes did not play well at times, and he should point the finger at himself. There is almost NOTHING worse than a team or person that loses and then tries to make excuses! If they meet again this year with the players they have ready to play, the Lions will win!

    I'm sick of hearing who the Chiefs didn't have. Detroit didn't have their #1 CB Mosely or their #1 WR J Will. It's the NFL, you roll with the guys you have. Chiefs only had to stop St Brown, and that doesn't happen if J Will is playing so cry me a river. Bottom line, the Lions beat the Chiefs and that's all that matters 💪

    Quit making excuses. Sure, Chris Jones and Travis Kelce are great players, but if Marvin Jones didn't fumble close to the end zone and Jameson Williams was playing, it could have been a slaughter. No asterisk on this game because we gave you guys, whether you had Kelce and Jones, nothing but in your face hell.

    Tom Brady had to play all the time without Gronk…
    The only people who matched Tony for performance was the zebras missing so many false starts for KC that I lost count. Cheating on Hutchinson, no favourites……

    You know. Its good too see the Lion beat a good opponent playing a B- game themselves. Offensive playcalling was rusty, marvin jones drops, fumble in the redzone, breakdowns in communication and coverage. They played far from perfect. Lions fans have been on the other side of that game before, with key drops and untimely penalties. Good fo see them oull it out.

    Saying that KC looked as if they could not win bleep without Kelcy and Jones, and then saying you are not taking any credit from the Lions makes no sense and is disingenuous. Detroit was missing their home run hitting wide receiver, Jameson Williams. He would have made a big difference. Detroit had players that made mistakes, just like KC had the same from their players. KC lost, and every person that is not willing to accept that without an asterisk shows their lack of maturity. Actually, the right tackle for KC should have been called multiple times for a false start, and he wasn't. Hutch would have had multiple sacks except for that being allowed. Even the refs were trying hard to favor KC. Each team selects 53 men to carry them through the season KNOWING that injuries and other issues will happen; that is part of the game. Mahomes did not play well, and he should point the finger at himself. If they meet again this year, hopefully full strength, the Lions will win.
