As the race for influence in Africa intensifies, Russian President Vladimir Putin seems to have his game plan set. The Russian President has once again sent his top diplomat on an Africa tour. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made his first stop in Guinea and the next in DR Congo. Lavrov discussed military cooperation with both countries and also slammed the West. Lavrov is expected to visit Burkina Faso and Chad next. West Africa has been witnessing growing discontent with the West, especially France and the US, and this has contributed to a shift towards Moscow. Russia has been backing the military juntas in Africa's coup belt. Will Putin's game plan further widen the wedge between Africa and the West?
