It makes sense to buy Aprila RS457. However, Yamaha R3 is more nimble and better in handling corners which is where most of the times we spend not at the top end high speed. In top end also Yamaha lacks may be 5 to 10 km less top speed than Aprilia. With a bigger bore, Aprilia is going to be less fuel efficient than Yamaha. Features wise Aprilia is way better than Yamaha. However, Yamaha may cost around 50K more but if you see from there defence it comes with much better tyres like Dunlop's than MRF on Aprilia. Yamaha is also more nimbler as it has an aluminum swing arm unlike the regular heavier swing arm in Aprilia. Aprilia is more economical but it has cut some costs on chassis and tyres, that is where the power delivery of the machine impacts the most. But finally at that price range Aprilia is overwhelming favorite the buy over Yamaha unless you want to spend that extra for the Yamaha's brand and proven reliable motorcycle for years unlike Aprila which is newly launch and will take few more years to know it reliability and serviceability, which I feel optimistic that it would succeed. Yamaha after the incredible success of R15 they should have locally produce R3 and cut it's cost rather than looking at there week sales in Indian market.
