Do you check the bag with your sticks and pads? Our son made Team USBOXLA and is going to play in Vancouver. We've never flown with his gear before. Any tips?
I’ve traveled with my team to Florida for spring training, and we usually use a ski bag to put all the shafts in. If your son is traveling with his whole team, one person probably has a ski bag that you can put all the shafts in and check the bag in oversize. We all take the heads off and put them in our carry on bags. If you do this make sure to put your screwdriver in your checked bag since you can’t bring it in the carry on.
I use a large gear bag for all my gear besides my head, that goes in my carry on. When traveling with these big bags they tend to get delayed by the airport, so in a pinch you can borrow gear but you will have your head at least.
They are no longer available but you might be able to find one on the second hand market. I got mine at a hockey shop in Canada that was selling off all their old box gear 4 years ago...
O’Neill lacrosse makes a mask very similar to it , it’s probably the closest you’ll find to it these days. It’s called the nll pro I think but def worth taking a look

Keep sticks with bag, but put the sticks in a bug plastic tube so they dont get broken or bent
