- Here is a fun video of our puppy. Can you tell we love this dog. He is one of the smartest dogs we have had. Yes a little demanding but just a ton of fun. He sleeps like a cat and loves to share your dinner. He will only eat eggs if it has American cheese on them or plain with Mrs. Dash seasoning. He was named after a boy that Leah had a crush on. Kind of funny now... I compiled a bunch of low quality cell phone video and pictures. I just needed a fun simple video to make. Hope yah like it.

Lost my Rat Lilly earlier this year...she was 16 and the best dog ever!. Thanks for the video...brought me both joy and tears.

I can relate. Miss my sweet little girl every single day. But so very grateful to God that we got to have her for as long as we did.
Ratties are great dogs , I got mine from the humane society and she has been a great dog. She was nine months old when i got her and now she is eleven, she goes almost everywhere with me!

Awww I love it. I’m a volunteer and a foster Mom and I fostered an
Abused rat terrier. The first two weeks, I gave her a pillow and she laid on the pillow and shook for two weeks!
She was so scared of everything but she liked me. At 7:30 every night she’d go in her crate and sleep until I got up.
I found out she’s a brat terrier. After the first year she’s so spoiled and so loving. I have a
Pug that’s not too fond of her because she’s so high energy and Pugs well, they sleep a lot.
So I’ve decided keep the little rat terrier and she just turned 5. 💞
precision Brown I don’t know how anyone could abuse any dog!!! Especially a rattie... they are such tender little dogs. If I raise my voice at my little guy, it hurts him and he is not himself the rest of the day. So we are super careful. Thanks for your work fostering. Makes me happy to know there are good people out there!

My sister and nephew have one -- she'll be 10 later this year. She's just as cute as they come.
I'm a dog lover and have always had large dogs.....German Shepherds, Dobermans, Labs. I'm older now though and those dogs are more difficult for someone my age to deal with. My friend adopted a rat terrier about a month ago and I am totally in love! This little guy is the sweetest, smartest, most loving, comical ball of energy I ever saw. I'm totally sold on this breed and would recommend it to everyone looking for a companion dog.
He will be very happy with his adoption. These dogs are amazingly smart and if you are sick and in bed, these dogs are happy to stay with you. Or if your out and about they will be there too! Very intuitive dogs. Ours manipulates us daily 😂
@@alaskansailors611 OMG! yes they are manipulators! But so damn smart and cute it's hard not to laugh. As soon as I move into the local senor living apts I'm getting one!
Also.....I'll take my little one to obedience training right away, for I see that if you don't get a grip on these little guys they could totally dominate your life!
Got mine through rescue from the Uber driver who took my deceased dog to the vet to be cremated. He asked me if I would like his dog…I didn’t know what kind of dog it was, but was in the grips of grief since my Westie had died at 19 1/2 years…I said yes…it was the best decision of my life…he delivered Riley to my door shortly afterward…I fell head over heels in love…Riley is smart, affection beyond belief, and sooooooo funny….WOW! I miss my dog that died but Riley sure made up for my loss…god bless this feisty little guy…and yes, he’s already caught a rat….💕💕💕💕💕💕
Our rattie passed in June 2019. I miss her so much! She was so cute and smart!

Thanks for the video, reminded me of my old rattie, bless them. There weren't really a lot of rats where I lived, but they loved my fluffy blanket, so I used to play a game with them where I'd get my hand under the fluffy blanket and move it around, and they'd go wild trying to play-bite me through the blanket. Wasn't the real thing but at least made them happy and excited. Absolutely adored that little guy. Lol.
That is so funny! Ratites are so prey driven! They have the BEST personalities! They are true friends!
I lost my little rat terrier Kiley 3 weeks ago had her 10 years thought she had bronchitis but ended up being lung cancer. I have lost a lot of pets over the years but she was by far the hardest to loose.
There very smart dogs. I used have one lasted 26 years died this year. Amazing dogs have very adorable.
Sorry to hear, but you are so lucky to have for 26 years!!! We just just lost our little Sparkplug this past Thurs. & I'm still crying about it .... he wasn't even 14 yet & cancer ripped him from us way too early.

I adopted a shelter dog that was supposed to be a chihuahua mix, did a DNA test and found she is at least 80 per cent rattie. She is a joy and a terror while being the most affectionate dog ever and I wouldn't give her up for anything.

My rat terrier is half deer Chihuahua, people say she looks like a whip it with an Italian greyhound face she's such an interesting little dog she's so beautiful.

Yes, there should be love your channel. Love rat terriers even more. My butters Leah had two litters of chihuahua/ rat terrier pups and they are absolutely joyous to be with, around. They are Love.
I love watching this!! My rat terrier does the exact same thing as this cute one does in the car when he wants to be petted. We call it Prissy's "whiplash" lol. I see so many characteristics in your boy as I do with my little girl.

❤️! Pandas vet said border collie mix and the shelter said RT mix. Either way she's going on 11 yrs now and definitely the smartest of breeds combined. Very smart, playful and loving personalities. Also very cute!🐼
I highly recommend a Rattie for any guy or gal that would like a small dog that doesn't have a lot of health problems and loves be to played with a little rough, without being fearful you will hurt them.They can be very lovable and one of the absolute smartest dogs there is.Their energy and athletic ability will surely amaze you
I rescued one 3 years ago and from a abuse case so it took almost a 18 months for her to trust her. Got bit a few times. Just scared nips. She’s a sweetheart

Alaskan Sailors I had two Rat Terriers, one who passed at 12 and one at 15-- just recently, like 2 weeks ago :-( --this little guy reminded me of them. I have a mix rat terrier Chihuahua dachshund now but really want another rat terrier bc of your vid! so thank you for posting it

My Buddy is now 12, I hope he lives much much longer. I so love the rides in the car in my lap as if he is driving....who can resist their love....he loves a lap, and friends to all....but I love him the most.....thank you God for Buddy

It is just amazing how a dog I didn’t want anything to do with when we got him for my daughter is such a big part of my life! God was smiling when he creates the Ratt!!!!!
i love my rat terrier, his name is Caesar. he matches my energy. he's definitely down to play all day, but when I'm ready to lounge, even when I know he'd rather be playing sometimes, he cuddles right beside me until I'm ready to run around again. they're the best!

Looks just like my little guy, sleeping right next to me right now. He did all of these things and more. The sad thing is he's very old now and makes wheezing noises. I dread the day I have toake that awful decision...but I know it is coming. I cook healtjy deals for him. He's my best little buddy...my baby. Thank you for living your little buddy too! Watching this in 2022. We have our first rat terrier, 4 months old, and I am so in love. She is our fifth dog, and I'm not sure I would have been up to the breed without all that practice 😂. She's amazing.
What I’ve learned of the rattles is you wont need all the practice! They are so very smart. From potty training to teaching him trick, everything seemed to come so easy to him. You will have a new favorite puppy pretty fast! (Ok I’m a little partial to the ratites)
I have a black and white fella, six-year-old. Couldn't live without him.

@@alaskansailors611 My dog Charlie is a probably some kind of Rat Terrier mix (I'm not sure about his exact breed). I and my roommate Colin cook separately. He will go near my roommate, who is eating some food. Then, he will look at me and then point over to Colin with his head. He is basically telling me to "Go grab me some of that."
Rat Terrier is my favorite breed!! I have had 3, 1 from a breeder and 2 rescues!! My rescues are the best!!

Great Dogs. Ours was 19 years old when she was murdered bu a stray German Shepard our stupid neighbors picked up and let out with out them or a leash. It was terifing, I tryed to save her but couldnt. She was apart of our family.
curtis moore that is an awful thing that happened!!! I would be devastated and there would have been a dead German Shepard! My little Guy is my best buddy! They are family members!

Got one from the shelter a month ago and he is awesome . Went from a GS and didn't think id like a small dog but he is very smart and learns things very quickly

How precious, I love this video. I just lost my rat terrier, I had him from a puppy and had to put him down at age 15. I miss him so much. Currently, I am trying to find another rat terrier as they are great dogs, but I am having trouble finding one in my area.
So very sorry to hear about your loss! They find a way into our hearts and home! They are so precious! Definitely our best friends! You will eventually find another but it will never replace your baby!
My son just rescued a pup & after watching this video we are POSITIVE “Spot” is a Rat Terrior!!!! He’s looks EXACTLY like yours & just as loving and inquisitive!! My husband & I “puppy sit” when my son is out of town and he’s A JOY!!!! We love him so much!!!! Matter of fact, we have him this week!!! It’s lonely in the house when we take him back to his home! sounds like your son needs to leave spot with you and find a local rat terrier breeder and put a deposit on one of the next litter.
He is adorable ! Luv him ! We adopted a rat terrier/cattle dog mix 3&1/2 years ago and he's the best of each breed. Sometimes a rat terrier and sometimes cattle dog. We adore him. So we know how much you must luv yours ! Cheers !

@@alaskansailors611 He is smart, but not menacing. He's more a joyful, loving, engaging companion who loves being with us either at the barn or in the house..also loves the car/ truck. We love how he can chill and nap ! Definitely mid energy- a trait we like. He loves to cuddle on your lap- even though he's 30 pounds ! He is very protective of us towards strangers-a feist !!!...

My Mom has had two her old pup died last summer and we were lucky enough to find her another at the same humane society, she has a young Ratty now. Burlington humane society always seems to have Ratties. When I got Belle there were three there, wish I could have adopted all of them.
I didn't get to experience the puppy stage with my rattie. When I rescued mine 1 year ago, she was apx 6-8mos old, so I missed out on the early puppy stages. So thank you for sharing ur vid! Urs is so adorable!💕🐾
mary jane Thanks for the comment! Sorry you missed the puppy stage. But it's awesome you rescued yours. They are such great dogs and smart too. During training it only took a few times for him to figure out were he was supposed to do his business. I have to admit that when my daughter wanted this dog I didn't want anything to do with it. But now we are best buds!
My puppy is 5 months old now she is beautiful blue tricolor, smart dog has learned many things first was that ladder/step up to the bed, I have had that through a couple dogs and she was the first to use it!

We lost our rat terrier mix right before Christmas. She was amazing. Just reserved 2 rat terrier puppies. Love them so much.

Just rescued a rat terrier from abuse. I was fostering her but I think she really likes it here with me and my Pug ❤️💋💋 The ears are huge like funnels lol
Little brat bit me and wow can they give ya a good bite! Be careful with training especially food aggression. So much like mine but I’m not sure if she’s a Rat or Jack Russell. Very similar and sweet 💞
We are on our 3rd ratty since we got married 34 years ago. Our current dog is 16-1/2 years old! Great pets!

i have contacted my local breeder and her female pita and the father radio just had a litter of 8 pups and now i am going to bring one home after they are weened. And after i pay for the pup of course.

my rat terrier's favorite is PIZZA too
PNYprepper yes he loves pizza but we really had to cut back on the food he likes (human food 😜) we want him to live a long life! The vet says he is over weight and we should see his ribs... it’s hard cause we like it when he is happy. And he is happy when he is eating!
7 yrs ago I came into some monies and I saw a little rat terrier with a cast on her back leg. I asked what had happened and was told she was on the bed and was swatted off, resulting in her leg being broke(11weeks old) Anyway,heard that, gave my friend some money, he went to their door told them he was taking the dog, would they like some money, paid them, and she has been 40% of my world ever since. If you can't be nice to puppies and kitties how do you treat.your fellow humans?
Brian Tyson glad you rescued her! They are great companions. They do have fragile legs. Ours jumped off the bed wrong and injured his leg.

I found a Jack Russel in March from the Skagit Humane society, then in May I got a call ,do ya still want a puppy? Well I had to go look at them ,turns out they were near the town I grew up in Sumas,Washington. The kennel is Clearbrook Kennel and they do Ratties, turns out the owner was a neighbor. Now I have two crazy dogs Ratty is 4months old today9-22-18.

James Workman Don’t buy one. Shelters have them all the time because they’re very active a lot are brought back 😢 So check your local shelter and rescue
There's a breeder in Colorado. Don't remember name but checked and she is reputable. I know people say rescue but I have checked many rescue places. No dice. My rattie died at only 5 years old from antibiotic reaction. The drug was marbofloxacin. Killed her in 5 days. I took relative of that drug called Cipro. I am permanently disabled. Beware of these drugs for your dog and yourself.

Please be careful with the fatty human food. Their digestive system cannot handle too much of it. They can actually die. I know a dog this happened to because his owner was not aware of the danger. Sad.
I agree 100% shortly after this video we changed his diet. We want our little prince to live a long and healthy life!

Yah we have changed his diet a lot. He eats a lot more healthy now.
