The Curse of Monkey Island is my all-time favourite point-and-click game. The dialogue, the voice acting, the comedy, and the plot make this such a treat to play. :)

I can't wait to explore the list, it's just what I was looking for.
I liked King's Quest 6, where Alexander (formerly Gwydion) wanders through all the islands looking for the way to beat the evil vizier and save his love Cassima.
Great to see some titles I wasn’t aware of here. Favourites of mine that you missed are Full Throttle, which introduced me to the genre (although I recently completed in one sitting!) and Discworld Noir.
IMO: Simon the Sorcerer, Space Quest, Kings Quest, Police Quest, Monkey Island and 5 Days a Stranger...those are the best...mind u i mean the whole series from each of those...not just the individual game. i play loads of others though.
Nice vid. Thanks for sharing. I personally prefer Monkey Island 1 & 2. Monkey Island 3 was great too but not as original. I agree with Monkey Island 4. Not a bad game at all but clearly behind its predecessors. To be honest, it shouldn't be on the list. Loom is one of my all-time favorites. Beautiful setting, innovative input control and a touching story. Or Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken, Legend of Kyrandia, Discworld, Simon the Sorcerer, etc.
Your choices are pretty spot on with mine as well. I do have to give a special thanks to Day of the Tentacle, as it was the first adventure game I played that brought me to talkie adventure games.
Problem is he spent 4 entries on the Monkey Island series alone. He even included the 4th game which in no way makes a top 15 list. That was the weakest game in the series.
Most 80s Sierra games (Kings quest, Space quest, Quest for glory etc) Do not hold up. Why? Cheap and easy deaths, Over-complicated and sometimes nonsensical puzzles, very basic and dated graphics are the main reasons.
I was a bit surprised to not see any Sierra games considering how prominent they were to the point and click scene. You ever played the Space Quest, Quest for Glory, Police Quest, or Leisure Suit Larry games? I saw King's Quest mentioned in your comments, but not sure if you played the later games in the series, namely 5-7? The puzzles were much better in 5-7 than in 1-4.
I was waiting for Full Throttle but in hindsight, I agree that it was such a short game. My bias is towards one of my very first adventure games: Return to Zork
This might not be everyone's cup of tea but an old game called "Blackstar Agent Of Justice" was one of my first point and click games. The thing that's so mind-blowing is it was made by a SINGLE person.
okay so i dont think that anyone will know but there was a medevil point and click game that involved a red headed nerdy knight and a yellow duck. and i think when u beat it santanas song smooth plays. Plz help itz killin meh
Would be nice with a more new list of games, it's not always easy to find these type of games they always dissapear in the shadow of 30 COD's and BF3 version type of games. I know I played Ceville a bit and it had abit of that Monkey Island feel, but I want to find more any ideas?
+ExhaleTheLight ...agree, there are so many other games from Sierra that would tear this list apart (Police Quest series, King's Quest series, Space Quest series, Leisure Suit Larry series, Phantasmagoria and Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father)
I enjoyed watching this list! Thank you fir making this video! My favourite adventure games are: 1. Sierra's Lost Secret of the Rainforest 2. Sierra's King's Quest games 3. Gorgeous art, stunning music and a touching story.
Does anyone remember an old pc game with a chinese bear named Daxter, Baxter, Dexter, or whatever it was and some details I can think of are. Finding things in the dark and with a metal detector. Also he was riding a motorcycle (I think), karate chopping wood and there being fireflies around him. Also I think there were 2 or 3 set of stairs when it was raining.
There was a game that i used to play but i cant remember it it was abaout a guy with big slippers and pajamas. In starting of the game you woke up in his room and to get out you had to turn lights off then on. Its the only think that i remember about it please HELP ME if you remember it
Seriously, I mean I'm not saying any of these games bad, but I don't understand how you make an adventure game list without a single Sierra title. Well, unless it was deliberate, Like an "Other than" list. I will admit a little of my biased though, Quest for glory was my first adventure game and still one of my favorite games.
Hey, Zachary, just a curious question for you. Even though you didn't like the visual style of Monkey Island 4, what is your opinion on the artistic direction of "Tales of Monkey Island." I think Telltale Games was able to successfully come up with a suitable 3D style for the game, but I would like to hear your thoughts.
Absolutely incredible video mate! Great job. Great to see someone who holds my views about the Monkey Island series. Mainly about the Curse of Monkey Island. Truly a revolutionary game!!! A game you simply MUST play. Toonstruck!
since everybody comenting here knows a lot of adventure games, please help me finding the name of an old title... you are a boy in blue shorts riding a red bike, you enter a mansion and you are capture by a mad scientist, who uses a machine to transform you into a little monster. You must try to escape the mansion in the game, and the objects you pick you put inside your pants... there was a part with this huge cat on the house that you needed to please to pass... don´t remember much else.
One could argue about your choices in the list BUT your #1 is definitely the right choice. Curse of Monkey Island, the greatest adventure game of all time!!
Hey, thanks man. I really appreciate your kind words. This gives me hope for humanity. The more I think about this honest words of kindness, I think, 'Wow, that is so nice of him to come on here, and tell me what he thinks of the video.' A lot of people don't do that-- but you, you're better than everyone else. I respect that, a lot.
Nice list - I'm wondering, since it isn't on the list (you might just not like it of course) but, have you ever played The Longest Journey? It's such a great game, definately worth of being on a top 10 if you ask me. Also the 2nd entry in the series was great. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Guybrush!!! I do miss these games! I have most of them, but gonna go download the rest! I miss the good ol fashioned adventure games where one had to use their brain! :)
15. Gemini Rue (same) 14. Syberia 13. Post-Mortem 12. Richard and Alice 11. Dragonsphere 10. Blackwell Convergence 9. Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon 8. Blackwell Epiphany 7. Blackwell Deception 6. Beneath a Steel Sky (same) 5. Gabriel Knight: Sins of The Fathers 4. Yesterday 3. Broken Sword: Shadow of The Templars (same) 2. Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive 1. The Longest Journey
Atlantis the Lost tales is my first and favorite game in the universe, but the Curse of Monkey Island is inches away of being 1.1 favorite. Some games are just classics and I can't stop replaying them.
Great list! Of course rating games has a great deal of personal feelings toward the games (e.g., Monkey Island 3 would not even be part of the list for me, which would have Monkey Island 1 as number 1 ;)). But there are many other great ones that I'd like to suggest: Simon the Sorcerer, the Space Quest series, King's Quest, Quest for Glory, Lure of Temptress, Zack McKracken, Maniac Mansion (with the highest replay value of any point and click I've ever played!). But anyway, congrats for the great list! It's actually quite hard to decide on an order for such amazing games :)
Kings Quest, Quest for Glory, and DOES ANY1 REMEMBER A CLASSIC GAME IN WHICH THERE WERE KNIGHTS AND CANNONS, ALSO HAD THE FAMOUS QUOTE "i'll be back"???
ZM82098 .... there were too many "Point & Click" games that I have enjoyed over the years, but two memorable games are "Phantasmagoria" and "Noctropolis" for their live-action videos.
+Soltice Taiken (Soul2Take) phantasmagoria was the ultimate point n click of all time. No idea how many times I went through that fame start to finish with different people. :)
24yrukdesigner ...."Point & Click" games evolved very well from the late 80's through the 90's. For me, "7th Guest" was the first game I explored that used live-action characters (video) throughout the game. Sierra pushed it to the limits with "Phantasmagoria" which was very innovating at the time. (Of course the game had several CD's to switch through in order to play the game) ***It reminds me of using so many "floppy discs" to play the first "King's Quest" games too.
I would definitely add the simon the sorcerer, loom, legends of kyrandia, mysts, the amerzone, discworlds, king's quests, gobliins and so...damn that was the golden age of games!!! Miss them all!
Does anyone know the name of the game where you go underground in an elevator and meet all these weird lizard people? kindof steam punky and I NEED TO FIND IT!
Man that list is so perfect, I would put some in different order but this is a matter of personal opinion after. Anyways when I saw the curse of monkey island as the number 1, I couldn't stop myself from having a moment of joy as I would also put this game as number one, and especially because I started to get a lot of interest in adventure games playing this particular one. good list again
I agreed with just about all of the choices you included that I had played, so I decided to trust your judgement and download 5 Days A Stranger. And while I certainly wouldn't put it in my top 15, I did have a fun time with it, so thanks :)
Brings back some memories.. I was trying to find the name of the game I played as a child & just couldn't figure it out.. The secret of monkey island was my favourite of all time.. Thank you..
I completely agree with your #1 choice. It has always been my favourite since it was released. Have just played Broken Sword 5 and that is stunning but "Curse of Monkey Island" is still my fave! Thanks for your compilation - I shall check out "A New Beginning"
very nice compilation. havent played a few in between but can name better than some of them on the list like Full Throttle, Gabriel Knight, longest journey, Siberia, deponia , the dig (most people like it whereas i didnt really enjoy it), toonstruck, neverhood, and some others that i cant really recall. But one thing is for sure Monkey Island 3 is the best game ever.
Agree with you choices of Day of the Tentacle, Broken Sword, Monkey Island and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. Will have to remember and check out the other games you mentioned that I haven't yet played. A very informative and straight forward list, thank you!
What about Siberia (both episodes 1 and 2), the new Broken Swords episodes, the various TellTale (the walking dead series, The wolf among us, Tales from the borderland), I have no mouth and I must scream, Flight of the Amazon Queen., Universe (an adventure game that was released in 1994), Space Quest and Police Quest (especially Space Quest 5 and 6), Leisure Suite Larry, Simon the Sorcerer (but not the third episode!) and Gabriel Knight.
Nice list, there's a few there I need to try. Some of my favourites were Lure of the tempress, Loom, Police quest 1,2 and 3, Leisure suit Larry 1,2 and 3, Operation stealth, cruise for a corpse, Les manly in search for the king
hey man, thank's for your video. i enjoyed your rankings and i gotta tell you i think just the same about the games i played, too. the first 3 monkey island games and day of the tentacle still belong to my all time favourites since my childhood. but, why i am writing to you is because i want to advise some wonderful adventure games by daedalic entertainment, that you really should try: it's the "edna & harvey" games. the box of the first game (in germany it's called "Edna bricht aus") says: "from those guys, who love monkey island" - and they don't promise to much. it's a hilarious game about a girl named edna and her plush toy harvey who try to break out of a lunatic asylum. and you can combine nearly everything in this game without hearing the same 5-6 "i can't do this"-phrases over and over again like in other adventures. TRY IT, YOU WILL LOVE IT! (and the second one is great, too^^)
A good list; Lure of the Temptress could've made mine, as well as some old Sierra games - like one of the Space Quests or the Police Quest, but I suppose they have more nostalgia value for me now than anything else, being the adventure games I started out with.
Hi! There are great titles on your list... but I would like to add KGB a.k.a Conspiration. It's a perfect adventure for me. The history, the characters, the dialogues, the images... it really takes us into the last moments of the Soviet Unions, while we go through mysterious murders, gangsters, spies, and corruption. In one word, a CLASSIC. PD: I would have placed Fate of Atlantis at #5 Greetings from Madrid!
Hey, if you loved "Gemini Rue" you will absolutely love "Resonance" from Wadjet Eye Games... they even have a new game out now called "Primordia", but I think "Resonance" and "Gemini Rue" are their best games so far. Thanks for the video, I'm spending Christmas Eve on point-and-click adventures :)
These games were really fun but some of the riddles were almost surreal and nearly impossible to solve. I remember Gabriel Knight, for example, where I must have spent a week before I even noticed you had to pick up the mud in the lake, another week to notice a few out of place pixels of art on the grass, etc.
Fun to see what you liked and there by be introduced to unknown games.I couldn't keep a list Down to 15;) I played all the Monkey Island games with my daughter and we played Broken Sword too. There are some games that no one ever mentions and I Wonder if that is because no one played them or they just didn't like them and they are not amongst the games offered a GOG which is a shame. Except for the game that came with the computer (KKQ 7), our first game was Hook. But with only 4mb of ram back then we were never able to finish it. When I finally did see the ending I was surprised at how short the game really was and we had been so close to the ending.None mention the game The Phantom which was a great game and one named Touché. Other games no one mentions are Shivers and Shivers 2. And there is from Sierra Lost in time. And how about the one called Lighthouse. So many games that deserve some credit I think. And there was that game with Malcom McDowel in Egypt I think it was called the Tomb of the Phareo.Back then you could buy a diskette with the start of a game and so if you wanted more you had to buy the Whole game. Only problem was that I was never able to get the Whole game in any of these cases living in Scandinavia. One was the Munsters (the tv serie) game and there was also one I don't recall the name where you walk around these 4 rooms and collect some keys in a Castle. My favorites were Sierra games and I still buy Jane Jensen when I can get a new one. I still have all my old games but buy them Again online in Version I can play and I buy any half good game I can find as long as it is point and click and adventure. There was long ago a Danish game you for good reasons never played but I think you might have liked it because it was like no other. It was called Blackout. There is one guy that has 3 videos on here showing part of the game but since it is so old getting it to Work now is impossible it seems. You wake up in a room with a dead girl and blood all over the bed. You are schizoprenic and don't know what has happened. The inviroment is really different I think and you have people that talks to you and since it's an old game they talk as they did then. Yes people do change the way they talk:) But you really get the feeling of how it must be in such a situation.I could talk about great games for hours because there are so many;) And thankfully they are finally making Adventure games Again so us who are not into killing others on screen can also have some fun:)
I LOVE the monkey island games. and the Indiana Jones. and day of the tentacle. have recently played broken sword again and also played number 5 a month ago. have you played and of the legend of kyrandia games? my favourite was the second, hand of fate with zanthia.
Your list is pretty similar to mine, especially regarding curse of monkey island of course, I just knew that it was going to be taking the first spot watching the follow ups :) Full throttle, Blade Runner, LSL7 and KQ7 would have made my list too though - even if that meant extending it.
Fun to see i've actually played most of those great games, as i love adventure games because they are not only fun but challenging, in order to keep advancing you need to be creative in finding solutions to the puzzles and problems you face. I would also mention Full throttle, The dig, Syberia (beautiful game), and the never finished serie of DREAM FALL THE LONGEST JOURNEY!
A list I made with games that I have played. Every 1. Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars 2. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 3. Full Throttle 4. The Dig 5. Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror 6. Grim Fandango 7. Gone Home 8. Stupid Invaders 9. Machinarium 10. Wolf Among Us Honorable mention - Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (I never finished it)
Does anyone remember the kids game that had a monkey drummer and you clicked symbols and he played them. It also had chickens lined up that when you clicked them they clucked the sound "BuCock!" high and lower?
I agree with you that Curse of Monkey Island is the best os the series, but I'm gonna complain about the lack of Full Throttle and The Dig. Those were good games, and not absurdly easy. It took me a total of three weeks to finish the Dig, not because it is long, but crap that game is insanely difficult.
Zach Anderson melodysymphonystar Really? The Dig had some fairly logical puzzles that were easy to figure out with trial and error. A New Beginning on the other hand, urggghhhhhh. Some of them are just... Ridiculous.
Tim Robb Oh, I'd forgotten about A New Beginning. Wonder why... Oh, yeah, because I played an hour and then, gave up. This one beat me fair and square.
Full Throttle is flawed in terms of interface and helpfulness and yet at the same time the puzzles are too easy and the game slightly too condescending. It lacks the richness of dialogue and also the challenge and what's more, it's too short. However, I love a lot of the presentation and its more filmic approach. The Curse is a tame Monkey Island game that lacks the originality and verve of the opening titles. I do think The Dig is undervalued -- very immersive game.
I still think that the best is Monkey Island 2. The third is a mix between the ideas of the first ones. It's amazing, but to me doesn't hold the comparison.
I know its been 7 years since you posted this comment, but had to say flight of the amazon queen is one of most forming games of my childhood- slightly happy in a weird way that very few people know it
Of course Loom and The Dig should be on any list, but I can't believe you didn't mention a single SIERRA ONLINE adventure: Space Quest, Larry, Police Quest, King's Quest......nor Gabriel Knight....also some other "not so known" point and click adventure games are IGOR: OBJETIVO UIKOKAHONIA SEA QUEST THE ABBY OF CRIME SECRET FILES: TUNGUSKA SECRET FILES: PURITAS CORDIS DARKSEED 1 and 2
You definitely need to play more adventures.. There's the Legends of Kyrandia 1+2 , Simon the Sorcerer 1+2 , Loom, Zak Mckraken.. give them all a play man the reconsider this list my friend :)
Broken Sword 2 Smoking mirror is also one of the best point click adventures.
Remember the underwear? It had no use. It had a heart on it though...lol
The Curse of Monkey Island is my all-time favourite point-and-click game. The dialogue, the voice acting, the comedy, and the plot make this such a treat to play. :)
I would say DOTT, hot followed by Broken Sword.
Great plots and great dialogues... Back to the iPad and play both again.
11:38 01 Monkey Island 3 (The Curse of)
10:43 02 Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars
9:53 03 Monkey Island 2 (LeChuck's Revenge)
9:18 04 Day of the Tentacle
8:27 05 A New Beginning
7:35 06 Grim Fandango
6:50 07 Monkey Island 1 (The Secret of)
6:05 08 Gemini Rue Collector's Edition
5:14 09 Sam and Max Hit the Road
4:33 10 Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
3:45 11 Teen Agent
3:00 12 Beneath a Steel Sky
2:05 13 5 Days a Stranger
1:24 14 Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
0:30 15 Monkey Island 4 (Escape from)
Congrats for the great video! I can't wait to explore the list, it's just what I was looking for.
Can't believe nobody has mentioned, LOOM...probably my favorite of all-time.
The cliffhanger ending that'll never be resolved 😞
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It was mentioned in the video. It just didn't make it to the top 15.
Longest Journey is my absolute favourite. Some of my other ones would be Dreamfall, Syberia, Bladerunner, Myst and Riven.
I loved Longest Journey and detested Dreamfall because that was an action game.
No Simon the sorcerer? It was a good game.
Yeah well there isint any discworld games either
Yeah, Simon The Sorcerer is an wonderful adventure
I liked King's Quest 6, where Alexander (formerly Gwydion) wanders through all the islands looking for the way to beat the evil vizier and save his love Cassima.
Glad to see Sam&Max is, after so many years, still one of the best Clik&Move games.
Respect.
Great to see some titles I wasn’t aware of here. Favourites of mine that you missed are Full Throttle, which introduced me to the genre (although I recently completed in one sitting!) and Discworld Noir.

Left out all the Sierra Games?
+Arturo Marchand ..... Sierra has so many games that could knock most of the games off of his list.
Problem is he spent 4 entries on the Monkey Island series alone. He even included the 4th game which in no way makes a top 15 list. That was the weakest game in the series.
The Space Quest series is so fantastic ! Since, I've NEVER seen any space comic opera of the same caliber. Unique.
They were very difficult with space quest I hated it
Most 80s Sierra games (Kings quest, Space quest, Quest for glory etc) Do not hold up. Why? Cheap and easy deaths, Over-complicated and sometimes nonsensical puzzles, very basic and dated graphics are the main reasons.
Nice list man! I hope you have played Gabriel Knight: Sins Of The Fathers and The Dagger Of Amon Ra too.

Agreed
Isnt Day of tentacle a Sierra's game?
@@DazedLuc No, it was made by Lucas Arts.
All I know is that the description of Fate of Atlantis sells the game short.
I was waiting for Full Throttle but in hindsight, I agree that it was such a short game. My bias is towards one of my very first adventure games: Return to Zork
I am a big Fan of Monkey Island Games. I wish it would continue.
Runaway a road adventure is one of my favorites. And broken sword is my #1
Decent list, but missing Discworld Noir, The Longest Journey, Syberia
A personal favorite of mine.... Discworld and Discworld 2. mostly for the memories and Eric Idle's voice acting, sublime
This might not be everyone's cup of tea but an old game called "Blackstar Agent Of Justice" was one of my first point and click games. The thing that's so mind-blowing is it was made by a SINGLE person.

+ExhaleTheLight Maybe in your top 15 list =)
Leisure Suit Larry
smfh
Gabriel Knight is great until the darkness starts to set in.
Chicken *shudder*
I enjoyed watching this list! Thank you fir making this video! My favourite adventure games are:
1. Sierra's Lost Secret of the Rainforest
2. Sierra's King's Quest games
3. Grundislav Games' Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator games
4. Broken Sword series
5. Myths of the World - Point and click adventure games by Eipix Games
6. Old Man's Journey. Gorgeous art, stunning music and a touching story.
Nice list dude, I've been missing point and click adventure games and I was glad to learn of more recent games in this genre.

Maniac Mansion and Zac McKracken are above all on this list.

One could argue about your choices in the list BUT your #1 is definitely the right choice. Curse of Monkey Island, the greatest adventure game of all time!!
I hope someone will bring back this genre
What?! No Gabriel Knight?!?
It's funny how videos like that aren't getting older because there are no longer games like that except some indie titles.
Glad to see Broken Sword in the list. Part 2 should've been in there too though.
Blade Runner is a great piece of art, that is worth checking.
Dilandau does a good LP of it.

You should definitly try Harvay's new Eyes! It's one of my all time favourits when it comes to P&C games!
Awesome. You had a nice voice. Glad to see some of my favorite games in there, especially DotT :D
I watched this video many years ago so nostalgic.
Day of the tentacle is number one!!! (At least fo me)
bladerunner for me
its tied for me with fate of atlantis
@@gehtdichnixan613 I love that game...i was 13 or 14. i bought it in a PC fair. it was something new to me :)

the Longest Journey man, them feels
The Neverhood?
+Doch 1112 Never played it.
LinkMEP Look it up its amazing! Its from the 90s and completely made out of clay!
Atlantis the Lost tales is my first and favorite game in the universe, but the Curse of Monkey Island is inches away of being 1.1 favorite. Some games are just classics and I can't stop replaying them.
Agreed
It's actually quite hard to decide on an order for such amazing games :)
super great video!! Y'all should also check out The Longest Journey, Torin's Passage, Full Throttle and The Dig as well.
Kings Quest, Quest for Glory, and DOES ANY1 REMEMBER A CLASSIC GAME IN WHICH THERE WERE KNIGHTS AND CANNONS, ALSO HAD THE FAMOUS QUOTE "i'll be back"???
+ZM82098 .... Zach Anderson hasn't played the best "Point & Click" games that Sierra has to offer.
ZM82098 .... there were too many "Point & Click" games that I have enjoyed over the years, but two memorable games are "Phantasmagoria" and "Noctropolis" for their live-action videos.
Soltice Taiken I will surely try those ones out too :)
Awesome rundown.. I couldn't agree... but you seem to have missed Discworld, these are also great :)
I would definitely add the simon the sorcerer, loom, legends of kyrandia, mysts, the amerzone, discworlds, king's quests, gobliins and so...damn that was the golden age of games!!! Miss them all!
WOW i played this game Teen Agent more than 20 years ago and didn't think about it again until TODAY from this video!!! i had good memories with it
Does anyone know the name of the game where you go underground in an elevator and meet all these weird lizard people? kindof steam punky and I NEED TO FIND IT!
Thank you..
Non Listed Favourites:
Space Quest 3/4/5
Leisure Suit Larry 3/5/7
Maniac Mansion
Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within
Don't forget Space Quest 6
awesome reviews! we need to have an adventure game lovers meetup so we can share our memories of these games
I completely agree with your #1 choice. It has always been my favourite since it was released.
Have just played Broken Sword 5 and that is stunning but "Curse of Monkey Island" is still my fave!
Thanks for your compilation - I shall check out "A New Beginning"
What about Deponia?
very nice compilation. havent played a few in between but can name better than some of them on the list like Full Throttle, Gabriel Knight, longest journey, Siberia, deponia , the dig (most people like it whereas i didnt really enjoy it), toonstruck, neverhood, and some others that i cant really recall.
Never heard of 'A New Beginning' before. So thank you.
Telltale games are not even comparable to the likes of broken sword...
Nice list, there's a few there I need to try. Some of my favourites were Lure of the tempress, Loom, Police quest 1,2 and 3, Leisure suit Larry 1,2 and 3, Operation stealth, cruise for a corpse, Les manly in search for the king
hey man, thank's for your video. i enjoyed your rankings and i gotta tell you i think just the same about the games i played, too. the first 3 monkey island games and day of the tentacle still belong to my all time favourites since my childhood.
but, why i am writing to you is because i want to advise some wonderful adventure games by daedalic entertainment, that you really should try:
it's the "edna & harvey" games. the box of the first game (in germany it's called "Edna bricht aus") says: "from those guys, who love monkey island" - and they don't promise to much. it's a hilarious game about a girl named edna and her plush toy harvey who try to break out of a lunatic asylum.
and you can combine nearly everything in this game without hearing the same 5-6 "i can't do this"-phrases over and over again like in other adventures.
PD: I would have placed Fate of Atlantis at #5
Greetings from Madrid!
Yes people do change the way they talk:) But you really get the feeling of how it must be in such a situation.I could talk about great games for hours because there are so many;) And thankfully they are finally making Adventure games Again so us who are not into killing others on screen can also have some fun:)
although buggy but when patched, I loved Darkseed! HR Giger (RIP) was sopped through this game :D
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it. I've played a few more since this video so there are certainly some re-arranging I would do.
Teenagent was a game that got me into point'n'click games, such a gem, but short. Also, Eksperyment Delfin.
My favorite video game is Broken Sword the Shadow of Templars.
good video.
Like
Fun to see i've actually played most of those great games, as i love adventure games because they are not only fun but challenging, in order to keep advancing you need to be creative in finding solutions to the puzzles and problems you face.
I would also mention Full throttle, The dig, Syberia (beautiful game), and the never finished serie of DREAM FALL THE LONGEST JOURNEY!
A list I made with games that I have played.
Every
1. Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars
2. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
3. Full Throttle
4. The Dig
5. Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror
6. Grim Fandango
7. Gone Home
8. Stupid Invaders
9. Machinarium
10. Wolf Among Us
Honorable mention - Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (I never finished it)
My absolut #1 is Pink Panther Passport To Teril (dubbed in swedish).
Excellent list!
I love Beneath a Steel Sky and Broken Sword too!
So good!
Full Throttle I thought was too easy --- the Dig I thought was too hard. But that's just me
Zach Anderson melodysymphonystar Really? The Dig had some fairly logical puzzles that were easy to figure out with trial and error. A New Beginning on the other hand, urggghhhhhh. Some of them are just... Ridiculous.
Tim Robb
Oh, I'd forgotten about A New Beginning.
I agree! One of the most fascinating adventure games experiences- A new beginning!
Discworld Noir is easily one of the most underrated adventure games of all time.
Where is Flight of the Amazon Queen?
Not in the list. Why should it be?
I know its been 7 years since you posted this comment, but had to say flight of the amazon queen is one of most forming games of my childhood- slightly happy in a weird way that very few people know it
No Sierra?!? King's Quest 5, 6, 7? QfG 3, 4? Gabriel Knight?!
The Book of Unwritten tales series are funny. I like them alot.
Of course Loom and The Dig should be on any list, but I can't believe you didn't mention a single SIERRA ONLINE adventure: Space Quest, Larry, Police Quest, King's Quest......nor Gabriel Knight....also some other "not so known" point and click adventure games are
IGOR: OBJETIVO UIKOKAHONIA
SEA QUEST
THE ABBY OF CRIME
SECRET FILES: TUNGUSKA
SECRET FILES: PURITAS CORDIS
DARKSEED 1 and 2
Deponia series is my favourite, I agree that Daedalic knows how to make adventure games.
ja deponia ist absolut super, hab alle gespielt und ich liebe die Dialoge ..
You definitely need to play more adventures.. There's the Legends of Kyrandia 1+2 , Simon the Sorcerer 1+2 , Loom, Zak Mckraken.. give them all a play man the reconsider this list my friend :)
