Still one of the biggest snubs in Oscar history. I think the NFL may have been behind Will Smith not being nominated, but I'm just speculating.

Dr. Bennet Omalu was/is a fraud. The doctor took credit for other people's work by lying about discovering CTE, and has completely made up data. The guy has been disowned by his embarrassed former colleagues, and is an "expert witness" grifter.

I remember over 2 years ago, I got jumped by 10 thugs who mugged me. As I fought back, one of them had a skateboard and wacked me in the head with it hard. As I was down, they also kicked me in the head multiple times. The adrenaline kept me alive as I was trying to fight back. After the mugging the adrenaline wore off and it was hell. The doctor was shocked I was still alive and said I only suffered a severe concussion. To this day, my short-term memory has been affected hard by it and I'm always forgetful with little things. Sometimes when I'm checking to see if I remembered to bring something on a road trip, I will always forget something I intend to bring, or I often forget I told someone a story and end up repeating it to them without knowing.
Concussions are scary. I can't imagine what football players go through.

I had a concussion due to falling head first off a galloping horse when she tripped.
According to doctors I had a near perfect example of a football concussion.
I was walking and talking...but don’t recall 2 hours after that impact.
My horse KNEW something was wrong because she did not resist the warming I gave her, she HATES the stuff.
Mom knew something was wrong because I started repeating “schools out” like a broken record.
Doctors knew something was wrong when Mom drug me thru the doors of the ER, and I puked 🤢 🤮 EVERYWHERE.
They immediately took me to the MRI machine. No waiting in the waiting room for me!😅
Yea. Apparently those falling lessons in Karate Class as a kid paid off and prevented a Christopher Reeve/deadly incident.
Concussions are no joke, and I think the only side effect was my spelling and ability to sound out words was shot.
    Thank God for spell check.
Reading and comprehension is fine, but some words I just can’t spell😥.
    P.S.
I wore my Helmet loyalty after that incident! My Horse felt bad about what happened and while usually very cold personality wise, she gave me a sincere nicker afterwards the first time she saw me. I held no ill will toward her for what happened. I rode again 3 weeks later.....always with a helmet!

Will Smith is an underrated actor. Ever since I saw him do the emotional scene in Fresh Prince where his Dad ditched him again and he talks with Uncle Phil I knew he was a legit actor. Just wish this film wasn’t so blatantly after the NFL. I understand that CTE is a very serious issue but it should not completely destroy the sport but rather focus on improving safety as these athletes play out of love and passion and care just as much about their health as they do the game but no one especially a doctor who doesn’t have any experience with the sport itself should ever try and shut down the entire thing. Study more on protective gear, find solutions to improved safety and protection, but don’t alter or end the sport itsel

    • @zdog131
      @zdog131 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Either you never watched the movie or you didn't fully understand what it was about. Dr. Bennet Omalu, the character that is portrayed by Will Smith wasn't trying to shut down the NFL. i can understand how people thought that, but really what he was trying to do was make people understand the risks, encourage finding safer ways to play the game and trying to make the NFL accountable for knowingly ignoring all of what has happened to its players just because they didn't want to hurt their checkbooks. because of this man a lot of our physical sports have put effort into trying to make the game safer which is the entire point of it all. Making sure that we know that we are trying to make sure people of all ages who start playing a sport like football or hockey or any other physical sport are safe while doing it. And that is always going to change because of the fact that we can always make it better and safer for the next genereation.

If i remember correctly I'm pretty sure there is a scene where he even says that he doesn't want to shut down the NFL, he just wants people to know and understand the risks involved when starting your kids at such a young age. Bottom line is that this sport could potentially kill you.
