Just received my Elton John PE a week ago. Words cannot describe how epic this game is on ALL level. This from a guy who was not an Elton John fan to begin with. JJP are really in a class of their own.

This is an amazing little interview. The love for this channel is second to none. A “top gear” style channel with no negativity and just passionate people. Nothing is perfect people. No car is perfect, no console or game is perfect, no restaurant is perfect and no relationship is either.
The negativity around pinball needs to stop. This is what’s wrong with the world. To many people sitting behind their keyboard living in mums basement thinking they know better and can do better. Let’s come together to make pinball great again.
Everyone makes mistakes. In business sometimes these are best unspoken and just learnt from.
Gonzo does a fantastic job being passionate and loyal to the hobby. There is no need to get into any negativity or politics because you will never please everyone.
Remember the harder the struggle, the more glorious the triumph. There are so many great things in pinball and life why dwell on negativity?

I discovered your channel a few weeks back. I am a French guy living in Osaka where I can easily fulfill my passion thanks to the silver ball planet. I could finally discover Jack's pinball, as, for some reason I do not know, his pinballs\ games are nowhere to be found in France. Now I can say that, if I have to buy only one single machine during my lifetime, it has to be a JJP as they are real wonders.

Thanks for the terrific interview. I've always been curious about the "secrecy" factor with pinball design and I'm glad you broached it. My local pinball bar has both JAWS and ELTON JOHN , and I find I'm playing and enjoying ELTON more.

We need a Michael Jackson game that would a be a day 1 buy for me! But I imagine the license will be very expensive but we are seeing more collectibles with michael being made so very possible, a nice limited edition would be a thriller themed

Wow great interview. If you had to sum up the rules/objectives of Elton John in a couple sentences what would you say? I'm very curious about this game but can't get a sense from watching gameplay. Are you mainly just collecting things? Thanks!

I think if you dont keep pinball secret you end up being expected to provide a release date or theres more pressure to because of the hype. Look at the video game industry and how many games get released that are incomplete because they are rushed. Obviously that's also due to financer pressure, but I think what I'm saying is definitely a factor. We already have games getting released with unfinished code, i dont want to buy a rushed table and have the manufacturer then sell multiple physical update packages after all the problems in a rushed pinball table become apparent. Really hope the industry maintains the secrecy and doesn't escalate the rushing releases and cutting corners.

Nope. Nor any question about what they are doing since Scorbitron was taken away in 2023. Gonzo seemed a little starstruck to me. Jack can handle some hard hitting questions, just ask them respectfully and professionally, which Gonzo is more than capable of doing.

@ToddRussellTV Todd, I'm a youtube channel not a news agency and this is your second criticism dude. I'm new to the hobby and you're demanding that I ask technical questions of which I have no knowledge.
In the words of Obi Wan "this is not the channel you're looking for".
Honestly dude, we try and have some fun, have a laugh and discover pinball on this channel. If you want someone with the furrowed brow and pensive serious line of questioning than there are other things to watch.
As for star struck . . . I've interviewed Bruce Willis, Dustin Hoffman, Ray Winstone, Matt Damon and some of the biggest sports stars in Europe in my day job so I can assure you that I wasn't in the least bit star struck. I just thought it would be nice to put the interview on the channel.
I'm afraid I just didn't know about the coding or the internet connectivity . . . Even if I did, I'd probably not find it particularly interesting anyway and it's a subject for customer support rather than a chat about Elton John which is the reason we were there.

Jjp need to do code for the games there already have no updates for gun n roses for years that what put me off them over other company’s
Why would GnR need an update? The code is finished. I have a GnR and everything that is needed, is in the game. Obviously, they could keep adding features, but that's not how it works. Stern stops updating their machines when the code is done. Computer games stop getting updates when it is considered finished. I have 2 JJP's and 2 Sterns, and I don't see any difference in how they handle the code. I feel it is the opposite: Stern tends to release games with very basic code, and then you have to wait quite a while before it is finished. When JJP releases a game, most of the features are in the game.
I'm sorry but "it needs to be done, it needs to be finished" Tell that to my Pirates.
I still love that game. Wish I could afford one. Do you still enjoy it?
JJP does a much better job with assets than Stern. I hope JJP has Harry Potter/ Back to the Future

Hey guys, BTTF for Dutch isn't confirmed but widely assumed. If they do it then I'm sure they'll do a great job. I do think that JJP and DP make incredible pinball machines and those two themes are excellent.

7:48 Jack basically gives us an oxymoron statement... He tells us Steve Ritchie is very stubborn and the very next sentence esentially tells us that Steve Ritchie listens to people about his designs and is, therefore, not stubborn... No big deal... just sayin'...
Over priced and no code updates. Don’t forget Jack blaming owners for playfield issues. If JJP didn’t have a billionaire daddy to keep JJP going, they would be done.
These are facts. $12k for an LE and $15k for a CE is ridiculous. And charging $399 for an updated flipper board is another joke.

Disappointed in this interview that it was mostly softball questions and stroking ego stuff. You can ask deeper, more critical questions respectfully. The question I want to hear Jack answer is "What is the progress on the JJP Insider Connected killer? You took away Scorbitron in April 2023 and hinted at going a different direction. What is the progress on that different direction? What value does JJP see in this? Why/why not?
I'm new to the Hobby and don't even know what scorbiton is so why would I ask? I'd literally never heard of it before you mentioned it.
Anyway, Insider connected is shit. I play pinball to get away from technology . . . .I'm glad that JJP doesn't have it.
So I suspect if I had asked, you'd have been listening to an interview with two people agreeing that pinball machines were better off without that stuff. So I'm not entirely sure you'd have liked the answer.
You're way in the minority if you think IC is "shit" :) You don't have to be a "news channel" to ask questions in an interview to key industry people that others are interested in and since you're sponsored, don't you owe it to your sponsor, viewers and subscribers to ask informed questions? I get it, you're "new" so learn from this for the next interview. Am sure if you "interview" somebody from Stern you'll tell them your bias against something that they just won an industry award for,. And you should. That would be fodder for an interesting and engaging interview, unlike this one.
For the record, Elton John is a great game, it is my favorite JJP, so we'd agree on that, at least. They fixed their trademark weak flippers,, low scoring that plagues most their other games and actually have a game with good flow, unlike most their other games. EJ has great music, JJP's stellar light show and the machine looks gorgeous (most of their machines do), but it's too darn expensive ... something else you never asked Jack about ("many people think your machines are too expensive, is there any consideration in bringing prices more in line with a Pro Stern, Jack?) ... no, not an important question to ask. Not at all.
Are you saying you just want to build the best pinball machine and to hell with the budget ? Yes. Don't think you were listening. Sterns pro's had become bare before Jack. Yes they were cheap but were they selling ?
@@31lengths11 Most people wouldn't call $6,500 USD "cheap" ... Stern Pros are overpriced too for what they offer, no argument there. The pros should be $5,000 or less, the premiums $6,500 and LEs $8,000 or less. JJP are like $4-6k over where they should be price-wise on every machine tier. Then again, somebody has to pay for Stern's new factory. I'm certainly no Stern apologist.
You know what's funny, and I don't disagree that Elton has all the songs you would need, GNR has WAY more content than Elton. It just doesn't shoot as well.
