I love the addition of these gentle cooking videos to your channel! it's immensely comforting and encouraging to see you taking care of yourself and your wife this way. idk cooking and feeding oneself can feel so intimidating these days, but this feels very approachable and friendly.

I jumped ahead a bit and caught your story about Lucifer. There's a bittersweeet tang to it, but it was so lovely to hear you talk about opening your heart to a non-human companion again and the healing that can bring. Thank you for sharing, and for being such a good friend to Lucifer.
The story of Lucifur is really cute but definitely bittersweet, that owner doesn’t seem to care about the poor kitty so I’m glad you and your wife can give the cat the love that she deserves

Your cooking videos are actually ethereal. I would so love more of them or even a whole channel dedicated to it!
The cat story reminds me of how we found our current cat. Abandoned cat in the subdivision, we started by leaving water out and just playing outside, then left some food out bc she was so skinny. She ended up inside in the winter when she was huddled up on our back porch during a blizzard…come to find out it was one of our neighbors cats. We talked to them and they said she was an outside cat that never came in anymore…so now we were in a weird situation…fast forward they weren’t taking care of the cat and it was injured and they didn’t seem to care so we said we would take the cat if they no longer wanted it. They agreed and we took it to the vet, registered it and have enjoyed her company for the last 2 years…
I get what she means here about the complicated nature of thinking you’re taking care of an animal that is someone else’s…took me a long time to realize that sometimes cats choose their owners.
You know , i never could find any confirmation that you had a wife- it makes me really happy to hear you say it!

I LOVED this video! It reminded me of simpler times where we used to have actual cooking shows and people would make 1/2 hour explanations on how to make a dish… now it’s all about the 20 second tiktoks. I am a professional cook and by placing a wet kitchen towel under your chopping board will prevent it from moving and avoid accidents 👩🏼🍳

This video is so helpful! I honestly don't watch food prep on Tiktok because a lot of it can be fast and overly edited or unrealistic for a low income person tbh. You eat very similarly to how I do(at least during my good days)and I also go through phases. Usually trying a few easy recipes from different countries from season to season. I grew up with a ton of American and Italian American food so in my adult years I crave everything else that's not those things lol.

When I eat dinner with my partner I make like a 20 step main course that requires 5 different cooking methods served up at 6:30pm sharp but when I eat dinner alone it’s like instant ramen, a whole carrot and slice of cheese at 10pm when I realise I haven’t eaten
These vlogs are just SO relaxing!
I'm with you on preheating your mug, I do it with my plates at dinner too. I realllyyyy hate hot food going onto cold plates!
Yessss I do this with my plates too!! I sit them right next to the stove while I’m cooking so they absorb some heat, hot plates make all the difference ♥️
My dad who worked as a chief has the same idea as well
I'm a server and we do this for coffee and tea for guests and my old managed called it "charging the cup!"
Oh my gosh! I got such nostalgia from you making toast in the oven! My mom used to do it for me like this bc we didn’t have a toaster. 😊 I’m happy to see someone else does it like that! Lol
Its also safe for your dishes to "preheat" them! With things like glass sudden intense temperature change (like pouring in hot water for tea) can make them shatter instantly. Especially with lower-quality glassware. Ask me how I know! 😅

I love these type of kitchen/ food videos. Everything you make and your kitchen looks so pretty and esthetic. My favorite snack also involves cottage cheese. I buy the one with chives mixed in and add flavored tuna fish to it and dijon mustard, sliced pickles and some herbs. I eat it with whole grain bread. Its so yummy 😋 Thank you for showing us different cooking tips and tricks. The cookies looked so cute 🩷🤍

As a quick tip, if you lay the side of the knife over the garlic clove and smash it down, the shell will pop off easier without having to peel it as much! Although I have to say that watching you peel it was very satisfying for ASMR purposes 🤗 loving these cooking videos so so much!

Stiff peaks basically means if you pull the wisk out and flip it upright, the point will hold its shape. Soft peaks will flop over alittle.

Not sure you’ll see this - but learned that soaking berries/fruit in cold water with white vinegar and baking soda…wait 5-10 mins then rinse. Incredible the dirt you see AND in a container in the fridge - fruit stays good for twice as long.

Thank you for sharing about your experience with your recent burnout. I work as a graphic designer at a small university and since I had surgery last month and have been struggling for the past few months, it helps to know that artists get burnout and that we are human and it's okay! I have been wanting to get back into drawing again but have been feeling immense pressure to make something great and I am my biggest critic. Garlic is so good for you! It’s naturally antibacterial and antiviral. It’s an anticoagulant too though which can be good or bad depending on you
