I noticed on the dlt exclusive, that the lock bar is scratched.. is that due to the liner scratching it? Because I have the same one, and the liner had a tiny defect that scratched the coating on the lock bar. I guess it must've been more prevalent than just my knife.
Oh yeah, from what I heard a lot of people were experiencing that with the DLT models. I looked all over mine though and couldn't figure out what was causing it but there must be a burr or something on the liner
Man it was a tough call, I knew I was gonna sell one of them either way, but I ended up letting the black one go just because I prefer uncoated blades. Kind of regret it though haha
Thank you! It's really easy, just get some liquid Rit Dyemore in the color that you want. Search "How to Rit Dye knives" on TH-cam and it'll come right up. I'm also about to post a video that explains how to do it in more detail, I'll let you know when it's out
What's a locator pin? The pin you call the locator is what I thought was a stop pin for the closed position so that there isn't much blade play while the knife is closed. I guess I could just Google "locator pin" lol
Hahah I tend to say locator pin when I'm not sure what the pin does, with the idea that it acts as support in that particular area of the handle. But you're right, it is definitely the closed position stop pin 👍🏻
I can't say for certain now since I sold the black one, but when I was reassembling them the tolerances were fine and didn't indicate one was thinner than the other. It would surprise me if they ground them thinner considering they are mass produced knives, I'd assume they'd use the exact same geometry as the standard Scouts
I've been trying to get a 4max for sooo long 😭😭😭 I would say the black for a night time edc and the other for day time but if i had to choose 1 the black one would be my choice 👌🏽⚔️
Hi, nice video. I was wondering to do it the same way. I like the green vom DLT and the normal black. Now i see that it really worth a try. Both are looking very good this way. I also like shiny blades over coated, also with the foodprep argument in thought. But - cooking with the 4Max is like cooking with an axe. It rams through the onion instead of slicy slicing. The Indian Summer version looks elegant, not comparable to the bad boy and the bushman. :) Did you changed the green scales to the Orange burnt ones or do you have 3 now :) and, do you customized the scales by your self or are they purchased. And - the scratch at the lock bar. I think “we” got all the same. Mine has it too. Greetings Marcel :)
@@marcelhoffmann6843 Haha yeah it's definitely not the best food prep knife but it can get the job done if you force it to! Also love the name Indian Summer, that's great. I dyed the green scales to orange using Apricot Rit Dye, so I did not buy any scales aftermarket. Thanks for watching Marcel!
all black scout is a pure beauty!
Thanks! Wish I kept it lol

The orange one looks awesome! I've also made me a black one. Assembly wasn't that easy due to bad tolerances on the liners...
Thank you! Yeah there were a couple moments during the video where the assembly felt a little dicey
Keep the black one, and call it "night rider"
Both are sick though.

Both looks great. How did you changed color of that scale? Did you just spray painted it or can you give me more details about it?

I've read somewhere here on youtube that the DLT's blade is thinner than the standard 4 max scout. Is that true?

Yeah, unfortunately that's the one I ended up letting go, kinda wishing I hadn't...
Definitely gotta get one soon, aus10 is a really solid steel. I run a voyager tanto large, a recon tanto san mai, and a luzon xl everyday lol
Rn $79.84.. ad10 s35vn $106. Nice tutorial video. Imma do the same but imma buy a desert tan with black blade. To do this
Why would get rid of any of them
Sell both and buy a S35vn with the new scales ⚔️🎱⚔️
I buy both from you for a fair price 😎
Black bruh... keep it
Man I put the black one on eBay but no bids, so I may end up keeping it anyway lol
@@knoxknifemods how much was you hoping to get for the black out one 😎
I may be able to meet you purchase hopes 🤔💰🎱💰🤔
@@powerplay4real174 man I actually already sold it, sorry to tell you but thanks for the interest
