Amazon has facilities in most states so you could definitely turn it into an OTR situation by picking up at on facility and traveling state to state then make your way back home!
Hey bro I work a 9-5 and saved up enough money to purchase a 26’ft. On my 3-4 days off per week I was planning on Amazon relays for loads. I always thought it would be easier to hire someone to drive for me starting off so that I could have 2 sources of income to quit my job faster and focus on driving full time(maybe even buying another truck). So my question is: Starting off would you let someone drive your truck for you? If NO why wouldn’t you take the risk?
Hey brother thanks for supporting the channel 💪🏾 personally I would suggest running the truck yourself to learn how Amazon works in your area before hiring someone. There is a lot to learn that is more than just driving. Putting someone in your truck without knowing how their process works can set you up for headaches and account suspension. Learning your overhead and how to keep it low is also something you want to do before committing to hiring someone then not being able to afford to keep them.

I try to keep my miles under 100 per each trip but I run multiple trips a day so anywhere from 8-12. But with Amazon a lot of those hours are sitting getting loaded!
Amazon has BOLs for facility to facility and when you are loading PO loads the your estimated weight is shown on the screen. Even with a full truck you will 99% of the time never be over 10k lbs so you can do this with a non cdl truck/driver (26k lbs or less)
The problem I have with Amazon relay which I am approved to haul loads for is the fact that there are one ways. And a the fact my dispatcher that I have normally never has any loads departing from that area. So with all the dead head traveling back with no load and fuel that makes the run useless and worthless. How do you account for that
being successful with Amazon has a lot to do with location, location, location. If your area has a limited amount of facilities a box truck can pull from then its hard to get many loads. the majority of box truck loads are going to be one way so you would need to learn the routes (especially for the post office runs) and learn to post your truck with a destination that ends closer to home if possible.
