I truly hope everyone realizes how vital it is to have a good pair of headphones/speakers/sound system in order to truly appreciate this album. The production is INSANE
The Shrine / An Argument ... The Plains / Bitter Dancer ... Am All That I Need / Arroyo Seco / Thumbprint Scar ... Real Fleet Foxes fans know that whenever oblique slanting line punctuation marks are involved, the prog gloves are coming off.
Maybe it's because they're like two part songs therefore they are particularly progressive, changing a good bit and feel longer with the change of pace/change-up in general. We need a playlist of these / songs from the Foxes
Have to agree! For a second I only just saw your comment and was agreeing to myself and then I saw your name and it hit me who you were... I love your music!! Pretty cool to see one of the artists I love the music of commenting on another band's music that I also love!
This song really captures that folky sound fleet foxes had on their first album. The vocals echo and reverb as if they're being sung deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains
I don’t know how they’re able to keep their signature sound over the years but also encapsulate whichever year/era they release in. Obviously 2020 heavily inspired this album but I also think they did it so well
I know, thought helplessness blues was it. The crack up was easily a delight on the ears, this album shore is just off the chain good! So happy that they continue with new but familiar.
As a Fan of Fleet Foxes since 2008 I can honestly say They are truly one of a kind when it comes to expanding and challenging themselves with new sonic Liberty’s . This song will ultimately land itself in The Foxes Greatest Hits when we are graced with this in the distant future. My ears applaud you and my heart thanks you ❤️2020 saved
Aya gree with you man. hahahah Robin has a unic style of composing. I can tell you, every song deservers at last one week of listening to get understood. And it oftens needs the full album or - a context - a theme.
Wow. Truly blessed. I heard one of their songs on the radio about ten years ago, desperately googled the lyrics and failed. Took another year for me to hear the same song by pure luck and managed to find the song. We should all be so lucky to have YT guide us to Fleet Foxes.
Ohh this might be one of my favourites *_* It cought my ear multiple times during the premiere stream. I loooove the little dissonance the Quiet Air has.
It kinda feels like he's longing for the things he felt expressed on Crack-Up, and if he'd let go of that it'd be forever lost (devil walking by, never wanting to die). In the end he does, though, as explained by the lyrics of the following songs. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like Robert might have been inspired by Heraclitus' cycle of the Universe, as he explains in Panta Rei that everything starts with Fire, followed by the Air, which eventually slows and rains down upon us, and leaves it mark on Earth, where Fire finds a reason to kindle the flame again. This cycle of air, turning into rain, and ending up on the shore, really feels like Robert is ending a cycle here and is just taking a moment to celebrate the cycle ending with us. That's just my interpretation of Shore as a concept album lol
@@DarkAngelEU that's intentional, seeing as hyssop twigs were used for sprinkling the blood of a sacrificial animal. and Robin himself remarked on that in an interview with apple music and spoke of Quiet Air / Gioia "Just imagining some weird pagan dance, like rite of spring or something, where it just kind of builds into this weird kind of joy. Like dancing while the world burns."
Shore hit me with a wallop. Crack-Up took a while to set in for me. However, rather than comparing the two, we should rejoice that Fleet Foxes is forging ahead.
I felt the same way initially, but the more I listen to it, the more I see it as more of a continuation of Crack Up, almost like a companion piece. And looking at it that way has really changed the way I listen to this new record. It is stunning.
This seems almost like the lighter counterpart to the darker, challenging 'Crack Up'. I fell in love with that strange album instantly, but I think 'Shores', will take a little time.
I truly hope everyone realizes how vital it is to have a good pair of headphones/speakers/sound system in order to truly appreciate this album. The production is INSANE
Crystal clear through my Sony 7506's
Listen to the 2nd part of the song with just the right earbud it’s a whole new level
Fkn right! Plug in one’s too!
@@thebreakfastmenu Same exact set. They are legit.
Glad I took up my headphones, thanks 🙏🏾
the something/something tracks from fleet foxes are indeed one of the best
Such an accurate observation!

On Another Ocean (January/June) too!
@@michaelriverside1139 Good call. I hope that at least one of the upcoming extra songs from the rest of the band is a 10+ minute epic!
The production / mixing on this album is absolutely stunning. The whole album just sounds incredible!
Mlm
Yes, layers of sounds.
@Buckel Knecht the sound design is exceptional and they have a special unique sound, at least on this cut-
@Buckel Knecht I will listen again to the full disc

This is easily my favorite song off of “The Shore”. “Oh Devil Walk by”. What a perfect way to address the fear of death. Love this song!!
That music after the line "Some some/ float on faith/ in the eye" is soo beautiful.
The wonky piano sounds that haunt this album hit me in all the right ways.
@@GR33TINGSEARTHL1NGS Totally agree with you
This track has me, got the chills!
Woah, this is something else. Blessed by the algorithm once again
They just released this album! It's amazing! Listen to Sublind or Young Man's Game
I envy you, getting to hear Fleet Foxes for the first time. So many great albums.

The album is pure Gold. Big hug from Brazil.
Ohh this might be one of my favourites *_*

I knew they were gonna be my favorite band and this album just clinched it.
This is so artistic and true to their original sound
the way the song transitions to the second part is pure excellence.
Robin is the king of the switch up
This one is a blend between the sounds of Helplessness Blues and Crack-Up.
Something very close to the first EP and the self-tilted with the groovy bass line and pure guitar line
exactly

One of the best in the album, love the harmony.
This song's great.
this album is amazing
Out of the entire album this is easily my favorite. The second i heard it I fell in love with it. Thank you Robin
Love this band. Cheers from Portugal
Apparently hyssop was used to ward off death (oh devil walk by) and also purify the spirit. Interesting symbolism in the lyrics/flower there.
It also kinda sounds like a ritual with the drums in the background.

On first listen, this was my favourite track from the new album (along with 'Cradling Mother...').

I am in love with videos of the entire album
Hooked since you played a little bit on your Instagram Stories. Thank you Robin. Can't stop listening to this track.
Great bass on this track, wow

Feeling a gold unfolding hand on me ... nowhere to go, no one I'd rather see
this song is so good i wanna mosh to it
Favourite one so far
YES. Thank you💚🤘🤘💚

favorite moment - 2:31
edit: it reminds me of late talk talk
Yeah man this entire Gioia section is masterful
Yes I agree, and a more contemporary reference is Grizzly Bear
Good ear. The drums, especially, and that peculiar piano line which exists as the threshold between the two parts are very Talk Talk!
I thought the same.
Amazing!!
Brilliant.
I love this song but especially at 2:45
Genial
This song is so gooooooooooooooooot
I like them.
Hermosa
Love this part 2:43
The transition
Every album gets more harmonically complex and less afraid with production choices without ever being Not Fleet Foxes

I feel like its time for another album
Indeed.

♥
When will I see this live?
Beppy good
Deserves some good headphones

Crack-up so far hit me emotionally a lot harder than this album.

give it a few hours, it's gonna hit i swear. i felt the same way.
sunblind hit me first really hard,

Quiet AIr
