Really useful appliance reviews on this channel. However, can't help but think for a £1200 outlay, the tumble drier cake is being over iced. I'm happy with my Bosch Series 6 one-appliance washer drier, which deals with Primark clothes and M+S bed linen just fine, and is also supremely quiet for use in a flat.
Is the touch interface a benefit? It sometimes feels like a flashy feature for the higher end models, but something that results in a worse user experience.
Not worth. I have a brand new S8 washing machine. The UI is laggy and slow, sometimes takes multiple touch to register. Would prefer my older S8 with the physical knob dial
@@Antoni-Music Have you installed the software update? I was afraid that it would be very laggy (I've seen that on many other appliances), but it's actually quite responsive and I've never had to press a "key" twice (yet).
I don't know but I can believe that they don't use as much electricity and water. Nevertheless I run my appliances at night so I don't have to wait around
Because cotton cycles are made for full 9 kg load and it shows the time for a 100% load. It takes a lot of time to dry such a ball of clothes. Other programs have 50% load or less. However it shows time for full load, so if you throw for example 6,5kg , then it will dry sooner and the machine will reduce the time at the end when it senses that there is little moisture left. Washing machine cotton programs also show time for a full load. Washing machine cotton cycles increase the time, because those cycles use less water. They substitute water for increase in time to get similar washing results.
There are energy efficient dryers that dry really quickly, but thats just how those BSH dryers are made plus this is the A+++ -10% version which takes even longer then the A+++ BSH dryers. Anyways the A+++ -10% models come with the SpeedPerfect/VarioSpeed function
I've had both of these W/M and heat pump T/D for nearly a year now. They feel premium and are super quiet. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware and didn't the latest i-DOS that automatically dispenses the washing liquid. Nevertheless, am pretty happy with both. However, it would be nice if Bosch explained how to carry out the T/D appliance maintenance as it's not clear and hence didn't do it for a couple of months - just can't find clear instructions what to do and know that i need to put some water into the drum... then what? The mobile app should at least have very clear step by step instructions as it's so easy to update and even do some quick videos etc. I have my T/D connected directly to a waste pipe so don't need to empty the container. This video is very informative and actually showed me we've been overloading it most of the time so Extra Cupboard was in frequent use to have everything very dry. However, it does dry really well as opposed to people complaining that heat pump are worse than old condensed ones. These also don't destroy as much clothes as the condensed ones because no direct heat is used on them and the heat pump simply extracts moisture from whatever is washed. So, those investing in expensive clothes should really take it into account . EDIT: I have managed to find the CP1 program - the manual should be more clear and explain with icons to make it easier IMHO. You need to click 'Basic Settings' (cog icon) at the top then choose button number 5 counting from top down 'Towels'. CP1 will be displayed on the right side and up/down arrows allowing to cycle between CP1 (basic cleaning) and CP2 (extended cleaning about 4 hours after long time of no use and/or to remove smell or hard dirt etc.) The CP2 requires a special cleaning liquid that goes into the water tank -refer to the user manual how to prepare the tank and warm water / cleaning liquid.
Just had this machine about 4 days and the touch screen is nice but I put 3 loads of washing in and pressed mixed load like my old 15 year old machine and 6 hours later it stopped and was still wet, my old Bosch series 8 would be dry in 1 hour, so dried it again on cotton with speed perfect and was all nice and dry 3 hours later, then I put a load of towels in and clicked towels and 6 hours later it was wet then I did it again and pressed cotton and it was dry in 3 hours without speed perfect! Maybe only the cotton setting dries clothes. Is this normal?
They have been in dryers for years, and on the whole cause very few issues. I would assume there would be far fewer issues with the self cleaning condenser compared to a condenser where the customer hasn't cleaned it properly.
@lords-electrical I see. But if for whatever reason the self cleaning condensor hasn't completely cleaned the condenser, is the end user able to access the area to manually clean or remove clogged bits from the condenser? Or do you have to hire a professional for that?
Hi Have you done any video’s about using Bosch Washer - Dryer stacking kits install from Bosch ? I have serie 6 2023 washer & serie 8 2023 Dryer Thank you greta content 😊👍
There are lots to choose from and it really depends on your budget but we do very well with the Bosch dryers as they are not too expensive and good reliability and good for energy efficiency

It's hard to decide between BOSCH Series 8 WQB246C9GB and BOSCH Series 6 WQG245A0GB. Any suggestions? I saw than Serie 6 has a slightly higher energy consumption (193 kwh vs 174) but the full load drying time is much faster 195min vs 260min. Why this huge difference? I though Serie 8 must be much better/faster
@@zanussi_fan You probably meant to say that the Serie 8 is faster and more silent than the Serie 6, right? I personally can't say anything about its reliability yet, but since their dryers a made in Poland and their washing machines in Germany, you're probably right.
@@mohammadfarahani6613 There are arguments for both. LG has really improved in quality and gives 10yr warranty to the motor and compressor. However, the inverter whine at 4kHz is annoying. The previous generation Bosch serie 8 and Home Professional were great. This flashy-glossy touch operated latest generation, not so much. Dryer is usually stacked on top of the washer. But this display is angled upwards and unless you are 6ft+ it's not great lol. Also, after 4-5 yrs you will have to open it up and clean the condenser, regardless of the self-cleaning functionality. This applies to all heat pump dryers. Miele is overpriced and only the top of the line gets latest tech. Asko is also overpriced and owned by Chinese Hisense brand. Samsung, Haier, Beko etc are best to avoid, if you want your dryer to last. Bosch/Siemens and AEG/Electrolux used to be German quality brands.
Hello, I just bought this appliance in Austria. Of course, it’s set to the German language. Could you please help me by letting me know if it's possible to change the language to English and how to do it? Thank you for your time and help. Best regards, Matt
Looks like this model just released as the Bosch new version in 500 series here in the USA..... BUT.... how do you now access the condenser to clean the fins??? Bosch says it is has the 'self cleaning condenser' but not sure how good it is at cleaning the lint (+ what does it do with it???) - Can you highlight how it is done?? Thanks
Quite a few of the higher end dryers have a self cleaning condenser. What it will do is to pump the water from the water container through the condenser unit at the end of the program and send any of the fluff or lint into the water container drawer. As it cleans it after every program, then it maintains a clean condenser unit which helps to maintain the energy efficiency of the appliance
This is a replacement for the previous series 8 model the WTX88EH9GB that I have. That doesn’t have the touch screen like this and I prefer the rotary dial on mine, it feels so much better.
A rotary dial is very inefficient. It's beyond me why it hasn't been replaced by a touchscreen a decade ago. I'm guessing they've just waited until enough of their older analogue customers have died (who would have never bought such futuristic tech) to take that step. Their Siemens counterpart is targeted at a slightly different (older) audience and that still has a semi-analogue rotary selector.
@@markblow1966 A function selector that requires you to navigate through programs you don't even want to select, is called inefficient. The rotary engine was actually very efficient.

That touch dial is the worst, but all manufacturers still try to sell these as a "premium" feature. The reality is they are cheaper to make than a real mechanical dial and therefore represent higher profit margins, and they are awful to use.
In the Flesh the control panel looks cheap and plasticky and there is a delay between touching a button and it operating. I am not convinced by the auto clean condenser either especially when sealed so you can’t clean it, my previous Bosch got full of fluff inside and the pump blocked up. Why are the cotton cycles so long? I don't understand how having appliances run longer saves energy.
I don't know but I can believe that they don't use as much electricity and water. Nevertheless I run my appliances at night so I don't have to wait around
Basically they will run at a lower temperature compared to a normal condenser dryer and will save electricity in the process
