It's wonderful to see that even after so many years of watching you, you're still real to yourself. You bought what you wanted. You didn't go out and beg a sponsor for a boat or some other sellout type thing. Keep being real, and I'll keep watching! What ever happened to your kayak??? I love my Ascend FS10T.
Definitely didn’t see enough of lucky. But dude I’m super pumped for you to be with the MTF goons, I’ve been begging for it for a year now and literally got goose bumps when I popped onto Instagram the other day. My two favorite TH-cam channels together, literally a dream come true
yeah, I watched it again at half speed and I dont think it was as close as it originally looked but still shouldve been more careful with lucky right there
Jon: I have a boat similar to yours. I added tie down straps to both sides of the boat in the rear. 2 sets per side to hold down the rods while towing. 3 rods can be held on each side. On the original rod holder I added a set of Berkeley rod holders on the side of the rod locker. The three additions allow me to hold 9 rods in a secure environment. If I need other rods I switch them out or just place them in the bottom of the boat. Hope this helps. Tight lines!
I can’t lie, I passed on a older bass boat and pulled the trigger on a 16’tracker like the next day after you posted the 1st video u posted of this thing. I saved a shit ton and was able to add all the electronics and completely set it up to my liking. And boy was that the best d decision I ever made! I fish striper about as much as bass and my setup is the best of both worlds. So thanks I guess haha
13:15 You are absolutely correct on what you said on getting a boat. Get what you want, and I will add, don't settle for something that is not exactly what you want. I bought myself a boat to fish from and I knew what I wanted and I got what I wanted. Great vid as always Jon B. and "Keep fishing, never stop!"
Hey John, I'd suggest that you mount some vertical rid holders to the side if your console like on many saltwater boats. Another would be some horizontal holders in the side of your hull between the top rail and the deck. I think this should solve some of your rod management problems
I just bought a 16' Lowes too. Mine is older, a 1988) but looks in excellent condition. However, my storage compartments are completely different from yours and my front fishing platform is larger. This is my first boat too and I'm lost about how to organize things. But as you said, "IT WORKS" and I don't believe another fisherman with a $60,000 bass boat will catch any more fish than I. The fish don't give a rip. His electronics may be more sophisticated (helps) but I have found that most of those guys can't read them anyway. Good luck.
Get some of the metal/plastic moldable tie-downs they are at walmart or wherever. They are simple. Bundle up to 10 rods tie them together. Or go with the boat rod clips from bass pro but you only get 5 slots per clip.
I have same boat..2006. I really like it. I have a 40 on the back. I put a Bimini top on it for when I take family out for a joy ride. I take it off for fishing. You are right about the rod problem. I can't help you there. I also put a hand controlled bow mount Minn Kota up front. I couldn't get the hang of the foot pedal.
for rod solution. Place some holders on the rear step up. You dont fish out of the back, wont impede casting, and can easily be put down if someone fishes back there.
Right on! Nice boat, I'd love to have it. Mine is just ya basic 17 semi v. I do enjoy it but it isn't wide enough. No room and it feels like I'm going over with any movement.
Why not install rod holders on the wall below the actually rod locker, you could put a couple of feet of PVC running straight into the the wall that Ts with the rod tip in there and then have the real end in the holders works for my bother and i and he has a similar style of boat few years newer I believe.
You should do a video of the 5 or 6 rod and reel setups necessary for beginners or just the ones to cover all the bases. With action, power, reel gear ratio, and the line you run on it, as well as what each one is used for.
You can build a ramp next to your soft plastics compartment going up towards your motor and strap the rods on top of that along with adding more storage within the ramp. Its not a quick solution but it would work.
I can see the appreciation for spot lock trolling motors now after spending a day battling wind with a 20 year old Minnkota with a bad remote on a heavy boat that doesn't have a good surface to stand on lol. Was annoying as hell but still had fun out on the water and still caught fish
I am 15 and I saved up for a 10 foot Jon boat. I saved for a while for that and a trolling motor. It’s gets the job done for me or me and a buddy. I wish I had a good bass boat like you and your buds. Great video
Love my 2002 Lowe Angler V-Hull. Bought it new and it's treated me well. Share your pain about rod storage - had to install straps to lash mine to the front deck.
Hey Jon what if you put the rods on top of the soft plastics compartment or on the other side? That’s my idea or you can put two brackets on the of the boat and strap them down???
1986 16ft smokercraft Big fisherman here with a 1986 40hp and its the best damn little boat. Its does everything i need and its nice and small for a quick trip to a lake.
You can shorten the shaft length of the Terrova. Just look up a certified minn kota dealer/shop so you dont void any warranties. I hear its pretty cheap too....like less than $100 prolly around 50 or 60 if i remember right. Go 54 inches...itll still be good enough for wavy days and get out of your way more.
FOR YOUR RODS: get the correct diameter pvc(the size that the end of your rods will fit into) and get a whole bunch of segments and T connectors, attach the whole thing to where ever on the boat is easiest
Love seeing the warbaits in your arsenal. One of my favorite companies out there, been using them since they first popped up in the local San diego shops great to see them becoming more popular
Lol I carry a Ruger LCP 380 and my Dad always has a Bond Arms 45LC/410 derringer when we are out fishing. There for snakes that try to get in the boat or fish that we can’t handle like huge Gars or Catfish.
as far as the rod locker goes you could drill holes in the wood next to the plastic locker for the rod tips to keep them protected and for the handle side of it you could set up 4-5 sets of 2 hangers a piece so that they hang on the side of the plastic locker and out of the way
hey jon love the vids i might have a solution to your fishing rod problem have u seen the rod keeps that u can drill or glue into the wall well i was thinking u can do something like that with a protective casing on top that clamps into place that will fit your whole rod n plus u can stand or sit on it while fishing its jus a idea but keep up the good work and tight lines
Hey Jon B. I think you should make a video explaining what it is like to be a fishing youtuber. You could tell us your story of how you became a popular fishing youtuber and explain what it takes to become a fishing youtuber like having to edit all the videos and plan all the fishing trips and having the time to make the videos.
ROD IDEA; Could you get some mounts and put a few rods on /under the gunwales of the boat? That way they are secure, not on the deck where eventually you're gonna stomp them, and easily accessible? Maybe you can't fit them all but quite a few .
Hey buddy I have the 15 solix and it was slow as all hell too. Update date that ish and it will be way better. If you do choose to expand graphs check compatible first it's burned me before. Kfns
Lmao great review... Idea for rod locker/ looking at the drivers well cut a couple 3"-4" holes on top of each other as tight to the right wall, and slide in caped pvc pipe to witch ever depth/ length toward the front of the boat. There fore assuming your live well is not in the way... I figure the majority of your rod(s) are cased and just bungy your handles to the wall. or make a back seat rod holder.. Just a note you should try and get your rods in at Ramakko's out in nothern Sudbury, ON ,CND i would gladly buy one
hey jon! on average how many rods do you actually keep in your boat? i could probably make a rod holder with a locking latch that you could mount on the edge of your boat! pm me if your interested and we can talk more about it!
At least you have a boat. Really sucks being stuck fishing from the banks all the time when all the fish are pressured out in deeper water. I almost gave up fishing altogether because I could see were the fish were at. But I just couldn't get to them.
I have the Terrova 80 on my Tracker and have only used the foot pedal once when my remote control battery died. I wouldn't fish without spot-lock or auto-pilot now. Tin cans rule!
Hey Y'all! I'm down here in San Antonio area for Tech School and was wondering if anyone knew of some great places to fish. Don't really know much of the area! If you have any suggestions let me know!
Don't know how big the live well is but maybe you could drill a hole next to that, put in a plastic tube or something and then just shove your rods in there?
HELP! I’ve been getting very frustrated with fishing lately and I’m trying to figure out how I can avoid it. So for the past month now I’ve been able to get out on the lake a good bit. Even though I’ve caught 2 I’ve seen at least 20, 1 of which I saw today that was about 8-10 lb’s. When I spot a LMB I stay very calm and go at it strategically. But they NEVER take it. So I’m sitting there watching huge fish swim away. And I always also try to make it a point to not be seen as much as I possibly can. Just no fish take what I put out. And I switch up my bait every so often as well. So maybe I just don’t know what I should be throwing? If so how can I know what to be casting?? I even cast out far and never even get a nibble! I’ve gone so long enjoying just being able to fish and I want to actually catch some now. I’ve even contemplated never going out on the water again. I need some help. Please.
I have a 15 ft bass boat just lay them on top of the rod locker I just have the tackle I am gonna use out. of the locker ( mainly saltwater angler ) so dont have to have such a huge tackle selection out )
The solixs are sick I have 2 of the pimped ones. You just have to turn them on before you start getting your boat ready to get off the trailer at the launch😂

At 5:40 you almost killed lucky
Hahahah I noticed that too
Lmfao lucky jumped wtf jon 😂😂😂😎
He almost sliced an ear lol
yeah, I watched it again at half speed and I dont think it was as close as it originally looked but still shouldve been more careful with lucky right there

Jon you should come out with a
"Lucky" Edition Rod. The Lucky Stick.
I can’t lie, I passed on a older bass boat and pulled the trigger on a 16’tracker like the next day after you posted the 1st video u posted of this thing. Jon, I would love to see a run down of your favourite shakey head jigs. An idea for a future tackle discussion.
I just bought a 16' Lowes too. Mine is older, a 1988) but looks in excellent condition. However, my storage compartments are completely different from yours and my front fishing platform is larger. Thomas Baxley gl @ the er dude...
Thomas Baxley get better plz
You okay man? whats wrong?
Just was trying to figure out what my very high shoulder pain was and why it keeps getting worse
I have the exact same trolling motor. It’s amazing. Spot lock feature works like a charm.
Get some of the metal/plastic moldable tie-downs they are at walmart or wherever. They are simple. Bundle up to 10 rods tie them together. Or go with the boat rod clips from bass pro but you only get 5 slots per clip.

Would the Katana also be useful for cutting through bushes/reeds?
for rod solution. Place some holders on the rear step up. You dont fish out of the back, wont impede casting, and can easily be put down if someone fishes back there.

"The shafts a little to big... you don't hear that often."
Dude, I'm dying😂😂
Best !
Fish man! I like watching you fish and talk about what you are using. You're a really good fisherman. Hit the lakes and creeks!
Why not install rod holders on the wall below the actually rod locker, you could put a couple of feet of PVC running straight into the the wall that Ts with the rod tip in there and then have the real end in the holders works for my bother and i and he has a similar style of boat few years newer I believe.

You can build a ramp next to your soft plastics compartment going up towards your motor and strap the rods on top of that along with adding more storage within the ramp. Its not a quick solution but it would work.
Bro I swear ur actually the goat u legit got me into fishing and taught me everything I know thank you
hey JON .B
u should install a solar panel to your battery.. it works great on mine..
I can see the appreciation for spot lock trolling motors now after spending a day battling wind with a 20 year old Minnkota with a bad remote on a heavy boat that doesn't have a good surface to stand on lol.
Was annoying as hell but still had fun out on the water and still caught fish
Was that a Warbaits package in your big swimbait box??? please come to southern california, the big bass are waiting
Also might work to remove the bait bucket and put rod tubes to protect your tips and have better organization in the slow
u could get a vertical rod rack thing and put it like near the console or get some rod holders and mount them on the sides of the boat
I am 15 and I saved up for a 10 foot Jon boat. I saved for a while for that and a trolling motor. It’s gets the job done for me or me and a buddy. I wish I had a good bass boat like you and your buds. Great video
Jon. I wanna try fly fishing.. You should get together with favourite to make a cheap beginer fly rod I'll wait on it if you do it
Well said about the boat working for u, I have a 14 footer v hull from the 70s and that boat has done me justice, freaken love her
Love my 2002 Lowe Angler V-Hull. Bought it new and it's treated me well. Share your pain about rod storage - had to install straps to lash mine to the front deck.

What do you actually do with those rig sticks? They look like sort of for deep sea fishing or may be for winching your anchors from the deep.
Jon I would really love if you would make a jig fishing video tutorial I’m struggling
When he pulled out that katana with a straight face, I lost everything, that was beautiful Jon😂
I would highly suggest getting rod straps for your rods i they work really well
I just got a 4Runner myself. SR5 Premium, 4WD. How does the 4Runner do pulling a boat like that?
what are your thoughts on the quantum vapor reel? a simple 1 out of 10 will suffice
Jon I have a sun dolphin pro 120 but I’m having trouble setting up the minn kota in the front
My humminbird is slow on the boot up as well, it was like that from day one but once its booted up, works like a charm.
Killer boat! Way more boat than I have. love the slow zooms.
Jon B helps myself want to work harder each day so I can buy cool toys for fishing as well but I don't slay like he does...keep up the good work!

Did you ever think about putting the rods right behind the drivers console? My grandfather does that and he has never lost a rod.
Hey Jon put the rods on top of the rod locker so they are just on the whole left side of the boat.
Hey man I have a 2017 Tracker Pro 170 and did the same thing with my rod box holder. Gets the job done!
Can you PLEASE come to Kansas and do a meet up Flair wasn’t exciting at all!
use two Marine Raider Boat Rod Straps from academy..... and just set the rods on top of the rod locker, or however many u can fit
Can't wait for the morning tide collab videos
Can you do a top 5 smallmouth lure video? Don’t know where to start. Please help 😂
For your rods make snap-cases for your rods on the hull of the boat it works!!
Did you update the humminbird? That's usually the issue when it gets slow or does random stupid stuff
I always want to go fishing after I watch you, Never fails. Please keep fishing and posting!
Solix are awesome. Got to remember that they are a depthfinder not a mac book
Lmao great review... Idea for rod locker/ looking at the drivers well cut a couple 3"-4" holes on top of each other as tight to the right wall, and slide in caped pvc pipe to witch ever depth/ length toward the front of the boat. There fore assuming your live well is not in the way...

Random question, when your r using a braided line with a spinning reel, what pound test do u use?
hey jon! on average how many rods do you actually keep in your boat? i could probably make a rod holder with a locking latch that you could mount on the edge of your boat! pm me if your interested and we can talk more about it!
i left Casey Neistat's video to watch the Casey Neistat of fishing instead.
OY VEY
David Burke GOOD
Why the fuck were you watching that lib
@@clorbach2450 Why the fuck are you mentioning politics in the comment section of a fishing video?
LYFTED right, politics don’t matter in fishing
At least you have a boat. Really sucks being stuck fishing from the banks all the time when all the fish are pressured out in deeper water. I almost gave up fishing altogether because I could see were the fish were at. But I just couldn't get to them.
I have the Terrova 80 on my Tracker and have only used the foot pedal once when my remote control battery died. I wouldn't fish without spot-lock or auto-pilot now. Tin cans rule!
Hi do you like fishing out of that style boat over an actual bass boat?
Add a new box by the soft plastic box if it’s to long there is sure to be area between the boxes in front of back
Wait . . . didn't you already have a boat? with the 24V trolling motor?
For your rods put a milk crate in the back corner and connect pvc pipes to it. It can hold 9-12 rods.
I'd buy me that Slowe anyday. Good one! Love the slow zooms jon B
Nice video Jon. On your fish finder issues I would check and see if it needs to be updated. You could be on an older software. Kick ass boat mang!!!
Hey Y'all! I'm down here in San Antonio area for Tech School and was wondering if anyone knew of some great places to fish. Don't really know much of the area! If you have any suggestions let me know!
Literally just got mine delivered yesterday dope rod I may have picked it up to early aha so am I excluded???
Don't know how big the live well is but maybe you could drill a hole next to that, put in a plastic tube or something and then just shove your rods in there?
Get bungees and strap them to the top of the rod locker to where when you open the locker they move with the lid
Jon B is the only person who can make a tackle arsenal/boat tour fun to watch

You can take a big piece of pvc pipe like a I real wide one cut it to the length you need it and tie it to the side of your boat
You could probably screw some Velcro’s strips into the top of the rod locker and strap the rods in the Velcro’s loops.
Your vids get me hyped about fishing to go and catch four and five pound smallies like I just did a couple hours ago. Thanks Jon 🤙
What do you do to dry your hooks/ jigs after fishing?
try screw or stick two big u/c shape hook for the rod
Love the vid maybe vertical rod holders on the back of the boat?
What was that little round gold reel you were holding at the beginning?
My Friday just got a lil better 😎
The solixs are sick I have 2 of the pimped ones. You just have to turn them on before you start getting your boat ready to get off the trailer at the launch😂
Jon I want to buy an 13 fishing inception what do u think about it
Hey Jon were you fishing in Gaston county N.C today, may 13
Rod savers. Like a Velcro strap that you can put where ever you want.
I live in lewisville. Hit me up if you want some good fishing spots in the area or want to link up and fish sometime. I'm out fishing a couple times a week.
You should be able to hook the alternator to your trolling motor batteries so you dont need to charge them.
