No fixed schedule. Some time in winter. Given my current pace I'd suspect in January. It's gonna suck riding in European winter, but I guess that adds to the adventure.
You must have done a lot of research & plenty of real life experience Your video should help plenty of people of that way of thinking with there motorcycles etc living there dream journey Gud on Yer Tom 😊
Thanks a lot! It certainly is a dream journey I'm on. I'm very grateful to have this opportunity in my life. I see many people who'd love to do a fraction of the trips I've done. The bureaucracy and headaches behind all that are sadly a distraction. But i hope it helps others with their plans. Next week I'll have part 2 come online.
Great to see you on here. Glad to hear the info is useful. It was a pain to learn it all and was hoping a condensed version (with a bit of humour) helps others. Wishing you the best of luck on your trip to the USA. I'm curious how you get there. I'll message you on who I used to ship from Brisbane.
A small point that may help people with a Carnet. The value is based on the original purchase price of the vehicle - not its value as it stands. Not to important with a bike but if you're building a expedition type vehicle its a significant saving to just value the base chassis.
Interesting. In my Australian carnet and that of a friend we have the value of the vehicle in its current state. That friend used the value for the Bond when he entered India. I scrambled any identification, but left the value in my photographed carnet page as is. You can see it at the 4:07 mark.
Your video is very interesting, but you talk very fast. English is not my mother language, so it so difficult for people like me. Thank for read this comment
Thanks a lot for the feedback. You should be able to slow the speed in the settings (the ⚙️ symbol) and allow subtitles. I hope the subtitles are okay as they are automatically generated by TH-cam. I normally see people get annoyed with presenters speaking too slowly and they set the speed to 1.25x or faster 😁 I hope that works and you find value in the content.
A job well done. Besides very informative I enjoyed the wildlife footage.
Great video Tom, I got your back when you make it to UK 🇬🇧
Thanks a lot!
I'll have to go past there for medical check ups and to meet friends there :)
@@tomonabudgethow much time do you have in mind for the UK leg Tom?

"... but I guess that adds to the adventure.", yup, it will, @tomonabudget , the winter will welcome you to cold, moist weather and slippery roads ...

Thanks, Thomas, very handy info. I think for my US trip I will buy a bike there and sell via a US Friend.

"Allgemeiner deutscher Automobil Club", come on, no Australian can say that without an accent, you're originally from Germany/Austria?
Caught me there.
I did migrate from Germany many moons ago.
