Amaranthe, I found this song when I was in one of the deepest darkest moments of my depression so far. I struggled with both that and severe anxiety issues. Elize and Noora, amazing, collaboration I was waiting for!!! I Love to hear Nooras softer sound as it's so beautiful! Also I love Elizes dirty and slightly raspy sound that she uses here and there. Vocal perfection, I'm enjoying, thank you ladies!!
OK I'm glad I waited to comment. At first, I was underwhelmed... but I found myself repeating the track constantly and, yep, it's one of those "grow on you" songs. There's a lot of nuance in both the song and video to appreciate. Eliz absolutely crushes playing a different character than we've seen from her before.. especially her opening verse.
I guess I'll just have to disagree with everyone here because, while maybe not one of the biggest or Amaranthe-iest of songs, I think it's super solid and I love hearing both Elize and Noora on the same track. I really enjoyed this quite a lot!!! Rock on guys!!!
As one of those who made "critical" comments, I take the chance from yours, to say that we aren't negative about the song (or at least, I'm not negative about it, at all). The song is solid and good (some will say fine, others great). My "criticism" is about it being too "generic" and not as distinctive as most Amaranthe songs are (also because the lack of the triple vocals). Again, this is a matter of preference and there's no right-wrong debate. They're artists and as far as this is their vision, this is great! And I'm actually not critical for it. I wish it'll go well, it's a great song! It only seems to me that this style is a more generic "fem fronted symphonic metal". And Amaranthe - to me - is so much more than this. Edit: Playing this song in an acoustic version would be a must, I'd say. And I love the "because" turn. PS. I suspect this wasn't entirely their vision alone, but that's just a suspicion of mine with no proof whatsoever.
The chorus of this song really hits hard for me, dealing with anxiety and doubting myself almost everyday makes me tired, but this... I don't know how to explain, it helps... thanks Amaranthe, I can't be more grateful for you guys
Music can be a potent motivator. I'm glad for you to have found some relief in music. Music helps me too. Axiety has been a dark shadow following me for my entire life. I've tried everything to get rid of it, but now accept that it is just part of me, I just learnt how to manage it better. Never let it control you. I do something every day to face it, even small things, otherwise the nagging fear grows inside me like a monster. One positive of the condition is that it has made me a super empathetic person, who people like for my kind, considerate and genuine nature. Every superpower comes with a weakness. All the best.
I have this philosophy for music, "Music is like a grand buffet for us all to indulge into regardless of the sequence of occasion. Whether its to rejoice with loved ones on the memories of laughter and happiness, to the epitomes of life's eb and flow that we grief on the lost of loved ones and feeling the falsified need to be included. Music will always mend the brokenness, we humans are regardless shape and size, it will forever heal the wounds we suffer day in day out enabling us to get through the hardships however massive or small those misfortunes may be to see another day in hopes it will be better than the last." I have a burning passion and inspiration to music and believe this fits true for what music has done, the only artificial creation of mankind that has stayed transcendient and not once shedded blood for people kill people not music. Frozen Crown, Amaranthe, Within Temptation, Beast in Black are my first groups I genuinely love every track they made respectfully so my support will always stay with them.
Really glad to have discovered this song. It helped me realize that something was not going on well in my life. Noora actually doing great vocals again, that would work for starters. She can break a concrete wall with her voice but really wants to be seen as a "real" singer instead.
@@altarus I agree. Noora has one of the best and most powerful vocals in the industry. To me it sounded like she toned it down a bit to match Amaranthe's style and Elize Ryd's voice for this song.
*While filming*, Elize: "Hey...uh...you wouldn't happen to have a hospital bed handy, would you? I'm kinda used to taking a nap before rolling around a bit in the middle of these sessions." Director: "Uh... I have this flaming star thingy on the floor?" Elize: "That'll work."

This is a pretty damn good song and personally, I think the point that they're trying make is no matter your personal struggle in this life and/or world, always be strong.
At first listen, it sounds mediocre. But after 5 days of listening to it, I really got into it. It is the vocals that made it happen. Elize and Noora's amazing vocals can make a mediocre song sound really good. Imagine Taylor Swift and Katy Perry singing the same song. It would sound awful.
@@alfredmehchi Yeah they said they were going to do the song in the tour they were going to do together. That of course got cancelled. I was hoping they would be able to come back next summer but it doesn't look like they will be back until 2022.

Contrary to some of the other comments, I think both Elize's and Noora's vocals were utilized very well (and balanced). Sure, they both are capable of reaching far more extremes on the vocal spectrum (some might call that stronger, I'd just call it more energetic). Instead, this song demonstrates (at least to me) how they both have great vocal control while singing in the more "normal" range of the spectrum too (something that doesn't always comes properly through in the extremes). Fair enough of some people can not appreciate that, but I certainly do. Great vocals, great duet. Pity, if some die hard fans end up unhappy/disappointed, when this doesn't quite fit what they expected. Boohoo.
Agreed. Where did this idea that unless the singer(s) are "challenged" or pushing the limits of their abilities, it's a failed song or something, come from?
@@kmdcompelelct Dopamine and shock-impression addiction maybe? Bigger, faster, better, something like that. I obviously don't agree with that myself, but it appears to be an actual thing these days. In my opinion not really the essence of art, although I have to acknowledge that it is an art to consistently reach that goal. I've seen it happen even a lot more in the development/evolution of hardstyle dance music, even to the point that it became quite hilarious and they had to re-introduce more calm parts, for the hard parts to stand out and not just be over-saturated (and listeners numbed) all the time. Anyways, I do think the key here is addiction to sensations, rather than artistic sensibility. If that (hopefully) makes any sense to you.
This song has been on repeat for days now for me. Then I read the comments. I guess my tastes are different from the majority of people who complaining about this song.
Wow! Being a huge fan of both Amaranthe and Battle Beast I had to check this out. You two ladies singing together is an unbeatable combination! Great song! Great video! Whatever disc this is on I’m buying it!
First Amaranthe's song, since the band take its way apart with Jake E Berg, that I'm in love to. Absolutely brilliant. That is the old Amaranthe's style! Finally!
Personally, I thought the song was outstanding. Goes in the same class as "Dream," which I also greatly enjoyed. Both songs are probably also the "softest" songs on their respective albums. This song would be considered "too heavy" for a lot of broadcast radio rock stations in the states. Think about that before saying this song is "pop." Amaranthe doesn't have a genre, in my opinion. They've mixed elements from so many other genres over the years that their music can't really be classified into one specific class. I like their sound. The video imagery used was...unsettling. Probably not the choice I would have made, but I get the concept they were going for.
You make a pretty good point about this being too heavy for the vast majority of stations in the U.S. Ironically, it also probably ends up being too light for the few that would consider it otherwise.
I dont know -- Five Finger Death Punch, Coal Chamber, and early Disturbed get played on US radio stations from time to time. FFDP, their early stuff, is definitely heavier than this, not to mention Wrong Side of Heaven when they had Marina Brink (sp?) as a guest vocalist. Additionally, I found Strong to be about the same level as Lzzy Hale and Halestorm -- which isn't bad, but it by no means, means that Strong couldn't be played on US radio stations. On the other hand, I dont think GG6 or Do or Die would have a snowball's chance in Hell being considered for radio play in the US.
The Pop vs metal argument can rage all it wants. I am a big fan of "real" Metal as much as anyone. It has always been my genre of choice. I found Amaranthe by accident about a week ago. They have a sound that I have not heard before. As an old school metal guy I can tell you, most that speak of pop and metal not belonging together don't remember the days when metal was born. They speak their opinions on that which they do not understand.
To the people on here complaining about the sound: the band adjusted their sound for this song to incorporate Noora's style. That's it. This sounds different because it's a fusion of Amaranthe and Battle Beast.
Whattt?!! I have big problem with english. London is the capital of Great Bitan. Fuckin all!!! And I don't know what they sing... Cool music, good work and all soul. It's maximum!
Yeah, that's probably the problem. But then, I really can't stand Battle Beast. Saw them live even, when they opened for Kamelot. Just not a huge fan of her style. This is totally a pass for me.

I actually like Noora's vocals on this one. I mean, we all know how she can do all those super powerful things but I really like this more easy going style of hers.
Based on other comments you seem to be in the 1% of people. I agree with you though. Although I think Battle Beast have a good ratio of heavy to soft already, I don't want them going pop all the time since the main strength of Noora's voice is it naturally suits rock music.
@@satsumaking4635 Yeah I think Battle Beast has it right. The best example I can think of is Beyond the Burning Skies, which has a lot of rock vocals and an awesome smooth bridge before the last choruses. I really like how Noora sounds in that bridge part!
@@AnteroJokinen well I pretty much search out any Noora clips I can find. There's loads of clips of her small solo shows burried in people social media pages. She does all kinds of songs and styles, Adelle, Michael Jackson ect. Sounds good doing all of them. Its just that the rasp and belt power mean shes at her best doing rock and metal. But being diverse with your voice puts you on another level than if you excelling in one area only. That's why I think it's good that both the BB band and Noora's other work doesn't shy away from utilising all the tools she has. In the short term some people can get disappointed, like ahh it's a ballad not a powermetal track!! But in the future looking back on a catalogue of work, the range will be appreciated more than just always doing powermetal songs. So I hope they continue like they have been, with very diverse albums.
AMARANTHE commented: "Devil and saint, martyr and sinner, betrayal and loyalty - 'Strong' essentially underlines the dualistic nature of what it means to be human. In an increasingly polarized world, we found it incredibly exciting to reach across the metal world, and find collaboration and unity with the phenomenal Noora Louhimo. Even if the world around you is on fire, and if you find yourself at a disadvantage, remember that there is always one part of you that will remain - 'Strong'."
@@DarkSidePhoenix Its just a quote I extracted from a metal news site. Its obviously a comment the band released to media once the single released. It gives a little insight into the meaning behind the song so I thought it would be useful to post in the comments.
I understand some people are not happy how they did not use the whole potential of Noora and Elize's vocal range, but what sticks to my mind is that piano riff. I think it sounds awesome.
The one thing I've always appreciated about this band is the amount of fun they always seem to have making the music that they do. I'm glad that they're continuing, even if some of the metal community are being purist assholes.

@@isaiahwelch8066 Being compared to Halestorm is horrible - they suck, but in this case it is a bit too harsh but maybe deserving.
There is a town in my country, Portugal called AMARANTE!!!! You are great!!!!!!! I am from Portugal and Amarante means a lot to me!
Dude, this is a VIBE! This is a "Fist to the sky" jam! Just what quarantine called for!
True
One of my favorite bands doing a song with one of my favorite singers from my favorite band. Did I love this? Absolutely obviously.
I have always admired the Amaranthe drummer, if nothing else, he has amazing footwork skills
I love Nora and Elize together. Please do more songs. Amazing😍
Two of my favourite singers on one fantastic song. I absolutely love the song, the vocals and the video. Hope they work together on more songs
To the people on here complaining about the sound: the band adjusted their sound for this song to incorporate Noora's style. That's it. This sounds different because it's a fusion of Amaranthe and Battle Beast.
Too pop!
Whattt?!! I have big problem with english. London is the capital of Great Bitan. Fuckin all!!! And I don't know what they sing... Cool music, good work and all soul. It's maximum!
I kinda thought it just sounded like Amaranthes old stuff, which I consider the good stuff lol
I am thinking this is some big wig exec decision at NB dropped onto the band on the behest of WB.
Yeah, that's probably the problem. But then, I really can't stand Battle Beast. Saw them live even, when they opened for Kamelot. Just not a huge fan of her style. This is totally a pass for me.
Ihana! ❤️ Kiitos ystäväiseni vinkkauksen, että ikinä törmäsin tähän voumabiisiin.. I must say:

Don't know why this happened....
Hmmm... Diippii....Kertoo että laulussa on voimaa, jos jo ensikuulemalta näin.. ... .. 🤔

DIOS! Battle Beast y Amaranthe juntos en una gira... se viene, se viene!
These beautiful ladies powerful singing combined are a force to be reckoned with.
Great harmony between these two voices. Such a catchy song, awesome
Awesome!! I love Battle Beast and Amaranthe!!! Rock it ladies!!! 🤘🤘🤘
@@satsumaking4635 I couldn't agree with you more.
collaboration made in heaven! YES! YES! YES! more of this PLEASE!
Wow..why can’t American music have a fraction of this meaning and depth?
Where did you find this?
@@weathered19 because we are too busy worrying about offending people
@@DarkSidePhoenix Its just a quote I extracted from a metal news site.
Most Amaranthe songs don't really do it for me, but when I see Noora Louhimo I click
Battle Beast is the most underrated band today
Their voices really work well together. Nicely done, ladies.
The one thing I've always appreciated about this band is the amount of fun they always seem to have making the music that they do. I'm glad that they're continuing, even if some of the metal community are being purist assholes.
WOAHHHHHHH! That's a powerful song. Never heard of this band, just clicked it cause of Noora
Elize ja Noora. Ehkä vähän jo oon odottanut tätä. Tykkään😍
What the voices! I love them!
Thanks for this. Chronic illness is something I'm learning to live with and I need to remind myself that I am still strong because I am still here.
Did anyone else click this completely by accident? And not regret it ONE LITTLE BIT?? Their voices are perfect, Elize has seriously matured her powerful voice to belt out such....wow. Just....WOW!!! SO STRONG!!!
Also to the guy who is convinced Noora showed up looking like that, I CONCUR!!!! \m/
i bet no one had to convince noora
Shut up wyldone
@@DeadlyGodOsiris hi Inu.
I didn't know that i needed the singer of Amaranth and Battle Beast at the same time, but i did
Lmao
Visually or audibly

Elize is an Angel, like her facial expressions very much 🤗
Two angels united 😍 fell in love with them for their voices
In these trying times I hear this and my heart goes to my young daughter. Be STRONG
Awesome song, cool video! Heja Sverige och Finland collab!!!
Во что бы её (Элиз) не нарядили, как бы не "накрасили", она всё равно будет круто выглядеть и, как не крути, настоящий талант не "спрячешь"! Потрясающий голос и великолепное исполнение песен!💕🔥💋
Awesome duet ! It's already in my playlist :D Noora is great !
Elize and Noora are the perfect choice for this song!
cant wait to hear that Collab live on stage
když vytvoří písničku dvě úžasné zpěvačky tak s toho nemůže být nic jinýho než bomba...nádhera :) držím palce v dalším tvoření
I love the collaborative nature of this whole genre!
Has there ever been 2 singers who sound so good together? They have do another song together.
@Mark DeMorest huh? You got backwards. Floor is the newest Nightwish singer. Sharon is the ONLY singer Within Temptation ever had. They did sing together back when Floor was in After Forever.
Try Sharon den Adel with Tarja Turunen on "Paradise (What About Us)" on Within Temptation "Hydra" album and Sharon den Adel with Anneke van Giersbergen on "Somewhere" on Within Temptation "Black Symphony" live DVD.
There's a new Italian power metal band called Nocturna that features 2 female lead singers that sound great together.
@@powskier thanks, I'll definitely look out for them!
@@alwayscasesensitive No need to "look out" for anything. They are on all the major streaming services and of course have video releases right here on TH-cam.
I love everything about this song. Strong energy at maximum
Ely and Noora ❤
Manifest is an amazing Album. Love Amaranthe 🤘
Noora!!!!! Queen of fire!!!!!!!
Perfect vocal sound! Fantastic metal song! ❤
I know of no other recent female rock duets for the last 25 years that matches the power breadth and raw emotion of this song. While I don’t get the video itself I don’t need to the song speaks to me!
I recomend laurenne/louhimo. Two great power ladys.
Never disappointed when Amaranthe releases a new song! :D
In that case you must be pleased very easily
@@elektrik_exekutioner6822 yea this is just crap
@@InfernalDarkside yeah i bet he eats hot dogs and say it's a good meal...
Everyone has their own opinion. There's no right or wrong. With that said, this song sucks, and I've been disappointed by every new Amaranthe song for the past 3 years 😥
@Taylor Atkinson This song and band are garbage. I think you're the one missing out on good music.
I'm amazed with this song 👌 Absolutely great 👍
Wow great song, I came here for Amaranthe but that Noora lady has such a powerfull voice.
She's the vocalist of Battle Beast if you hadn't heard of them, they're pretty good too.
Listen to Battle Beast's Black Ninja. She's just wow🤘
Noora is the singer of Battle Beast. Go listen to them dude ! Her vocals are even better there
@@Pasibrzuch11 absolutely right !!
Yeah
I love Amaranthe and their songs and this with elize&noora pure gold and fire💪💪🔥🔥
Grande Musica. Mesmo TOP.
Grandes Vozes da Elize (AMARANTHE) e da Noora (Battle Beast)
Parabéns.
Ever since I first discovered Battlebeast Noora's been popping up in a lot of videos. That woman sure gets around in the metal industry.
I really love this, but I do hope they come out with an alternate version with Nils singing Noora's part
Noora and Elize together... Can it get any better? The collaborations for this album are great!!! The song with Angela is also good
Elize.....You are a real Goddess!!!!
Both animals and plants have feelings like humans and have a level of pain perception. Do not kill them and do not harm them in the slightest!
Once again Amaranthe give us an awesome song ! This duo rocks !
Noora 🤩 ❤️
