Hey guys, just wanted to mention that there's a variety of Roses of Sharon out there. I stumbled upon this yellow variety in my botanical book of wild flowers. There, it's included in the "St John's Worth family" as 'Rose of Sharon' (Hypericum calycinum). According to the book, this variety blooms in south-eastern Europe. I chose to make this flower because I was drawn to its long stamins, they're so cute that I wanted to try and make them. I hope you enjoy the process of making these flowers and do share below if you've ever heard of them or seen them in real life! 😊

These are stunning Miriam, and very true to the actual flower… these grow everywhere here in Ireland and they are in full bloom just now, so it was especially lovely to see your video pop up! I love the way you make the large 1mm coil, shape it, apply glue and then let the glue semi-dry to then finish the shaping, that’s really clever as you’d never be able to get such a 3D shape otherwise. And those long stamens, just perfect. For a first attempt at this complex flower Miriam, you did a superb job, very well done indeed 👏👏. ❤😘

Working with 1 mm paper strips is always extra nice (though tricky too at times) because it just gives the flowers a more lifelike look! Have a lovely week! 💛

Miriam, these are beautiful. We have a Rose of Sharon plant in our yard, but they must be a different variety. They look very different than these. In any event….these are lovely, as is everything you create! Thanks for sharing! ❤
