My daughter dated no one in college no one invited her ..then she dated 2 people on line dating for 2 months...did not work and girls heart break....she met a young man in church 2 years ago...they reconnected online and got married at the Basilica church in the Latin mass 1.2.2021...there is someone special for each one of us...let God bring them to your life
I pray for my daughter to know God (come back to church) and so her boyfriend (who’s Buddhist like his family). If they should be together than God move in their lives so they don’t sins or God closed the door in their lives if they’re not from God. I have felt (and been told this by friends too) that I'd one day make a good and caring husband as well as father. I love this idea of praying for your future spouse and offering sacrifices for them too! Me older sister taught me about this years ago as well as the "future spouse box idea!" Which is like what you were saying, writing letters, journaling for them, prayers for them, sacrifices, etc and write everything down and hold them safe in a box until the day of your wedding night! I’ve been praying to my future spouse for quite some time, but I recently opened up my heart to learn more about how to grow into a good wife. Even now at a young age, sometimes I want to just find a partner and forget about the rest. However that won’t lead anywhere. Since God is love, giving that love to someone else, the true kind of devotion will last. I trust in you Lord to lead me to my future. Whether that means getting married with a family or living as a daughter of Christ 😇
I am 18 right now and I felt reluctant to pray for a future wife because I felt it's too early but my mum told me I should have even started praying for a a future wife at a young age. Since prayer is like a bank account. And actually it's sowing a seed
I prayed a novena to St. Therese, and met my now fiancé either during or immediately after the novena! Hard to remember exactly when, because I only realized it in hindsight. It was also during Lent, and tha year I had given up wearing makeup. That's my advice to ladies!

This really helped me. My mom and dad are planning to get me married to a girl who doesn't like catholic church but the girl is ok to get converted to catholic and get married in catholic church. I want to live catholic faith and get married as a catholic and raise my kids as catholics. Marrying a girl who belongs to other denomination and doesn't like catholic made me feel very unsafe and very sad. I was almost in a state of depression. Someone I never really knew and haven't seen in over a year was kind to me in simple ways that have left a lasting impression on me, because I've only ever received them from people at least twice her age. Wanting to reciprocate her kindness, I was advised to to so via prayer, so that's what I've been doing ever since. Am I praying for my future spouse? Having chased too many rainbows recently, I refuse to entertain the presumption. But in ignoring the possibility, I could end up ignoring God's will in the future. So in the meantime, I accept the (current) improbability instead and continue praying for her, as I know my fervent praying will not be in vain, even if I never see the fruits of my labor in this life.
I have given that up. I have a lot of love to give...but no one wants an old guy like me....unless they are old and ugly....or young and just want to rob me of the little savings I have. It just was never meant to be I guess. I surrender Lord.

I don’t have anxiety regarding this topic so I think that may be why I don’t pray for my future husband. Also, because I am open that maybe marriage is not the path for me

this sounds tough. of course you should get marry but how can you find a guy who wants you. i have noticed you need to look nice but also find a good man who wants to commit to you. sometimes it seems hard to find a guy who would want you to even be a house wife.
Don't! I'm only a few years younger and I can feel the exact same situation coming my way but I've slowly come to realize that marriage might just not be on the cards for some of us but we need to remember that God ALWAYS knows better and that if that's God's Will then you can be sure that's the best way to get you to heaven and it can be hard to accept because of the desires you've felt in your heart for so long and specially because of all the pressure from society that makes you think you MUST get married but marrying whoever, just for the sake of it, can only lead to a life of unhappiness; greater than just being on your own. I think we need to pray and it's ok to hope that someone good will come your way but also surrender to God's will and learn to trust him and his process and timing and learning how to be happy alone in His presence, wheter that's for just a season or until we are reunited to him. We must remember what our REAL goal and deepest desire is, heaven. I will be praying for you and don't give up on God because he will never give up on you, He loves you, died for you and is always with you even when you feel like no one else is, He is; always remember that. i want someone who is romantic, respectful to my parents and others, smart, caring, and someone who is curious to pursue me even when i am very moody and i do not feel like talking to him. A good Catholic guy is great but he needs to have the sacraments. but if he is a good guy who wants to love Jesus and become Catholic, I will be there when he goes to a good RCIA group to be Catholic.

I think I have lost the faith and hope in God... I understand every word you say, but I can't relate anymore... I have been praying and hoping for so many years, I had "vision" in my prayer, but it didn't turn out to be what it was supposed to mean... I am so confused and discouraged... at the age of 34, I feel so many things are just too late...
One thing I don’t understand: we talk about religious being called to give themselves totally to God, but what does that mean for married people? Doesn’t God want all of their hearts, or does He love them less because He’s called them to work in a group? I don’t think it works so mathematically. It’s not as though giving my heart to God means there’s nothing left for a husband, or as though sharing my heart with a husband means I’m holding some of my heart back from God.
Would you recommend making a list of what you want in a husband and asking God for that in prayer? Also what if I discern my vocation to be married but never meet a husband? Thanks
Same #2 question lol and there's a great yt channel called a catholic's mom life I think she has a video where she tells her vocation story and she did just that! She said that her husband covered most of the things on her list, even some small random ones 😁
This is actually an interesting idea XD. I'm also not completely sure about my vocation, but I don't think there is harm in writing down your thoughts and feelings and doing a self-reflection in the process.

I love this idea of praying for your future spouse and offering sacrifices for them too! Me older sister taught me about this years ago as well as the "future spouse box idea!" Which is like what you were saying, writing letters, journaling for them, prayers for them, sacrifices, etc and write everything down and hold them safe in a box until the day of your wedding night! (But even when you find the one don't tell the guy)! Thanks again guys

I’ve been praying to my future spouse for quite some time, but I recently opened up my heart to learn more about how to grow into a good wife. Even now at a young age, sometimes I want to just find a partner and forget about the rest. However that won’t lead anywhere. Since God is love, giving that love to someone else, the true kind of devotion will last. I trust in you Lord to lead me to my future. Whether that means getting married with a family or living as a daughter of Christ 😇
I am 18 right now and I felt reluctant to pray for a future wife because I felt it's too early but my mum told me I should have even started praying for a a future wife at a young age. Since prayer is like a bank account. And actually it's sowing a seed
I prayed a novena to St. Therese, and met my now fiancé either during or immediately after the novena! Hard to remember exactly when, because I only realized it in hindsight. It was also during Lent, and tha year I had given up wearing makeup. That's my advice to ladies!

This really helped me. My mom and dad are planning to get me married to a girl who doesn't like catholic church but the girl is ok to get converted to catholic and get married in catholic church.
I want to live catholic faith and get married as a catholic and raise my kids as catholics. Marrying a girl who belongs to other denomination and doesn't like catholic made me feel very unsafe and very sad. I was almost in a state of depression.
But now I leave this to the hands of God who knows what is good for me.

God gives a chance of accepting & making willful relationships. Also, likewise, we may pray to him for the well being of our future spouse.
Someone I never really knew and haven't seen in over a year was kind to me in simple ways that have left a lasting impression on me, because I've only ever received them from people at least twice her age.
Wanting to reciprocate her kindness, I was advised to to so via prayer, so that's what I've been doing ever since.
Am I praying for my future spouse? Having chased too many rainbows recently, I refuse to entertain the presumption. But in ignoring the possibility, I could end up ignoring God's will in the future. So in the meantime, I accept the (current) improbability instead and continue praying for her, as I know my fervent praying will not be in vain, even if I never see the fruits of my labor in this life.
I have given that up. I have a lot of love to give...but no one wants an old guy like me....unless they are old and ugly....or young and just want to rob me of the little savings I have. It just was never meant to be I guess. I surrender Lord.

I'm waiting to meet my future husband though I am desperate inside, still I hear from people you should get marry you are 31 now, You are not serious about your life, Your age is running out. And apart from this my mothers behavior is like You search yourself it's not our duty to do everything for you. My heart is filled up with so much bitterness and hatred for my mom and everyone. this sounds tough. of course you should get marry but how can you find a guy who wants you. i have noticed you need to look nice but also find a good man who wants to commit to you. sometimes it seems hard to find a guy who would want you to even be a house wife.
Don't! I'm only a few years younger and I can feel the exact same situation coming my way but I've slowly come to realize that marriage might just not be on the cards for some of us but we need to remember that God ALWAYS knows better and that if that's God's Will then you can be sure that's the best way to get you to heaven and it can be hard to accept because of the desires you've felt in your heart for so long and specially because of all the pressure from society that makes you think you MUST get married but marrying whoever, just for the sake of it, can only lead to a life of unhappiness; greater than just being on your own. I think we need to pray and it's ok to hope that someone good will come your way but also surrender to God's will and learn to trust him and his process and timing and learning how to be happy alone in His presence, wheter that's for just a season or until we are reunited to him. We must remember what our REAL goal and deepest desire is, heaven. I will be praying for you and don't give up on God because he will never give up on you, He loves you, died for you and is always with you even when you feel like no one else is, He is; always remember that. i want someone who is romantic, respectful to my parents and others, smart, caring, and someone who is curious to pursue me even when i am very moody and i do not feel like talking to him. A good Catholic guy is great but he needs to have the sacraments. but if he is a good guy who wants to love Jesus and become Catholic, I will be there when he goes to a good RCIA group to be Catholic.

I think I have lost the faith and hope in God... I understand every word you say, but I can't relate anymore... I have been praying and hoping for so many years, I had "vision" in my prayer, but it didn't turn out to be what it was supposed to mean... I am so confused and discouraged... at the age of 34, I feel so many things are just too late...
The best thing for her is Jesus and the best thing for me is Jesus.
One thing I don’t understand: we talk about religious being called to give themselves totally to God, but what does that mean for married people? Doesn’t God want all of their hearts, or does He love them less because He’s called them to work in a group? I don’t think it works so mathematically. It’s not as though giving my heart to God means there’s nothing left for a husband, or as though sharing my heart with a husband means I’m holding some of my heart back from God.
Would you recommend making a list of what you want in a husband and asking God for that in prayer? Also what if I discern my vocation to be married but never meet a husband? Thanks
Same #2 question lol and there's a great yt channel called a catholic's mom life I think she has a video where she tells her vocation story and she did just that! She said that her husband covered most of the things on her list, even some small random ones 😁
This is actually an interesting idea XD. I'm also not completely sure about my vocation, but I don't think there is harm in writing down your thoughts and feelings and doing a self-reflection in the process.
