I’m going to miss your locs but what I loved even more is how liberated you felt when you cut it! You are so beautiful and the short hair really looks perfect on you! I can’t wait to continue following you in this new journey ☺️☺️
Your mum is just a love being. She oozes love and calm. You and her came full circle with this first set. Makes me so emotional. I installed my daughter's locs at the age of 4. I don't know if I'd be brave enough to help her cut them. Tearing up thinking about it rn. And then to think that she then installed your second set!!! Give this woman all her flowers 💐 She deserves it all 🙌🏾👏🏾
I wanted to cry the entire video bc it’s as if I went they this journey with you... but omg u seemed soo happy at the end of it... this is actually the happiest I’ve seen you in a long time l...and that’s truly all that matters... can’t wait to experience the next chapters of y(our) story...
Hi... I know this is an old video but I am seeing it at the right time. I will be cutting my locs over after 15 years to start over By end of this year. I am excited to do it. Thanks for being authentic in your journey.
Needed to see this! It’s a year old but I’m cutting mines too after 11 years feel like the tightening is damaging my scalp thinning! Starting over as well
Out of all the videos, yours was the best!! I love how you waited to get more new growth before you cut it. That's what I'm waiting on. I've had my locs four yrs and I'm waiting for more new growth so I can cut them. Thanks for your video
Girlll you look great!! I just cut my locs off at the end of April. I did not have the patience to comb them out and I only had 100🤣 my hair was cut down to your length. Love the short look!!
You look so beautiful with your big chop, it fits your face, it looks so healthy, anyways thanks for sharing your hair journey all this time, God bless you and your family!
Wow that cut is so becoming on you. I can not believe I like it more than your locs. It’s like an egg hatched and the real you popped out! Just gorgeous!
You are a beautiful lady period but I can tell you feel like a weight has been lifted off of you and I’m sure you’re gonna love this new journey, also kudos to your mom for being so supportive and not trying to talk you out of cutting your hair!!!
I'm sorry that you had to cut your locks but you have to do what's right for you and your hair and by the way you go girl you look fabulous with that short haircut if I ever decided to cut my locs I'm stealing your haircut LOL n a haircut LOL
🙌🏾Just cut my Locs of 4 yrs💨💨 I know how your feeling...it’s a wonderful feeling... i loved my loccs but from the dye and bleaching damage that i caused, my hair was begging for it🙄... ive definitely learned a thing or two from my journey..... never touching dye or bleach again. Periodt🔥
So I'm basically WANTING to go through the same transition. I've had my sister loc since I was 7 years old, I'm now 24, and I just want a change! I'm surrounded by people who are discouraging me :'( by their own insecurities and colorism conflictions. I hate that my edges are thinning by the constant manipulation being done to those delicate areas. Black loose natural is sSO lovely and I want the sensation of just putting my hands through my hair. I'm SOOO TORN! I'd love any advice for motivation :'(
Tranquilbutterfly28 it is just hair. If you cut the locks and want to reinstall later you can. If your hair is thinning, better to cut it and start again or continue with your loose natural hair even. I have SLs, so I know how the SL community, especially, can get territorial. Do what YOU want with YOUR hair.
For some reason people have such strong opinions about hair when it comes to black women and OUR hair. Do what makes you happy and disregard people who won’t support your decision. Do what you want to do with your hair. You’ll look beautiful and feel amazing☺️
This means a lot. You guys are right, some people can get so territorial with others hair. I'm currently in a stage in my life where I just don't connect with sister locs anymore. I can imagine how liberated I'd feel without them. I could always get them again once I feel ready.
@@Msbmaxey8 Its crazy, you'd think you would have more understanding from other SL community. Since the growth process is time consuming they're obsessed with anyone with longer length sisterlocs. The grass is not always greener on the other side. Thank you for reply. I'm slowly building myself up for the big chop.
I had locs and cut my hair into the same short fro for the same reason lol. I just grew out my hair for half a year and then cut so i didn’t have to undo any locs. I’ll restart locs AFTER I finish nursing. Even with eating healthy breastfeeding is taking all the nutrients from my hair so my shedding is still crazy.
You look so beautiful with your big chop. I did a second big chop last year because my postpartum was so bad. Sadly the guy that I went to edged me up like a man, so I wasn’t feeling as cute and confident compared to my first big chop. I decided to loc my hair 3 months ago once I got some length and I am loving it so far
Girl, I honestly didn't want you to cut off your locs. I went through the same post-partum shedding in my last pregnancy, this time it's worse though, but I know it will grow back. That ugly, dull, dirty look and terribly thinning edges on strings, oh yeah, I can relate. So I was watching your journey to pull through mine. I'm about 2 months behind you my daughter is now 6 months. But I understand the feeling u were having, I've been tempted to cut mine too. Now seeing u do yours is motivating me to do it too. But I'll c what happens. 🙂 I'm happy for u though, enjoy your journey sweety! 👍👍
Thank God for Mother’s....it looks beautiful. Would you consider putting locks back in? Please do a video about locks and build-up . I see you had some in a few locks. The build up did not show before cutting your hair . What do you think caused it?
This looks soooo good 😍 Can wait for you to start playing around with it (did someone said dying it blonde? 🤭) I would love to see natural hair vids, and vlogs about how this change was for you!
I'm so confused right now, I just started watching your video when your mom installed your locs i was so inspiring and next video you got a big shop just wan to know why?
I’m currently taking my small locs down too and I’m going on a month and I’m only halfway through (because I can’t just sit for hours do to mom life lol) but I’ve been using the little metal yarn needles to take down my hair. I was using water and conditioner at first but it’s so much easier to do it dry. I might try your method of cutting and taking it down. It seems so much quicker! Love the twa!
You're beautiful! I cut my locs a few months ago, because of all the dirt & dust that was inside. I cut open 1 & I saw the mess. I couldn't keep it knowing what was lurking....my locs were think, not sure if I could have gotten the build up out. I was 3 & 1/2 yrs locs; wanted to at less make it to 5yrs.
ThandiweKaYah Thank you! After having my baby the appearance of my locs totally changed. It became dull and less full. So I wasn’t happy with how they changed Postpartum
PLEASE ANSWER?? I'm cutting off my locs tomorrow after 3 years of patience. I have about 1.5 inches of new growth and I don't plan on rocking a TWA. Do I NEED to get my hair professionally cut after to make it even, even if going to cover it with braids?
Leah Lu It’s really a personal preference. If you’re not going to wear your hair out at all it doesn’t really matter, but personally I would get it evened out just because it will look better as it grows out. You don’t necessarily have to go to a professional. There’s tons of videos on TH-cam showing how to cut natural hair low.

I know the feeling. I chopped off mine May 17 and it was the most freeing feeling. I love the ease and how quick I do my hair now.
I feel like everyone I follow with locs is just cutting them off. It’s so sad but I understand. You look soo beautiful though!
