If anyone's curious, the Jar Cannon DOES do poise damage. It just fires so slowly that it's difficult to poise break anything if you use it exclusively.

This run really makes me wish Elden ring had a mechanic like the bonfire ascetics in ds2. Like, I really want to repeatedly fight the mimic tear because there’s so much you can do to make it fun and unique. It’s a boss that’s as hard or easy as you want it to be and I love that.
Hopefully they let us fight bosses again in the eventual DLC
@@DesTr069 considering they have been adding free things to the game they might actually do that, they could eventually add an official PvP or PVE arena for the fans. If we get loud enough they really could!!!

The Moose beast consumes animals lying around the arena and 'steals' their moveset. It's random which one happen first depending on what animal he absorbs while healing!
That’s such a cool mechanic, I wish this boss was buffed in some way that the fight lasts long enough for that on average.
@@NiraSader agreed, I’ve literally never even experienced 90% of the bosses moveset because it just falls over so quickly and easily
@@NiraSader yeah, a 1.5x HP buff would do the boss some serious good. Hell even just a 1.25x buff might be enough to make the fight...well an actual fight.
Never saw the lightning ram moveset before this video even though I beat him 3-4 times lol. He dies extremely fast
@@ThatGuyOrbyalf of the fight is just it teleporting ten light years away from you or doing Santa’s Sleigh tryouts above your head. I think making that even longer is a terrible idea. If it didn’t do those things then sure.
I learned recently from Valentine on Prod's channel that The Regal Ancestor's attacks are based on the spirit animals he heals from so the rolling attack is because he absorbed more of the rolling goats.
I find it funny how out of all the starting classes we have in Elden Ring, technically the most fitting for using a large boomstick that serves as a comically huge gun is the Samurai.
Historically accurate tbh.
I actually tried this on my second playthrough. It's honestly great blasting through the first half of the game with a +9 cannon.
The dual gargoyles are a difficult boss but if you give Ds bro his armor he can be summoned for the fight and man he is a tank.
The timer was a great idea, us youtubers can see how long the run is since its cut
I had a blast using the Jar Cannon for a few bosses in my first playthrough. Got it to +9 and used it on Fortissax, felt like playing Monster hunter at half speed but it was fun as hell shooting a dragon with explosive great bolts!
Kinda as if the movement speed got buffed but in exchange the weapons became greatsword speed
1:02:31 actually when the regal ancestor "teleports" it goes to one of the animal spirits walking around and gets an attack based on the animal it teleported to.
I love your challenge run videos! It would be awesome if you could provide a description of the various talismans or spells/incantations as you pick them up because I do not remember what everything does.

I feel like the 4 buffs that take 30 sec could transfer into a shot, meaning more dps since you seem to only get one shot b4 those buffs are gone anyways
But over time that'd be much much less damage

@@CrimsomS I think those enemies are mostly just adjacent rather than reused assets. Miyazaki and his team have a type and like to follow certain tropes and that's why the games feel somewhat similar. But honestly there are only so many types of creatures is folklore and only so many ways to represent them so I think that's the reason enemy types end up feeling familiar.

As someone who has never used the serpent sword and only ever stabbed the fucker to death with a sword crushed him with hammers or ass blasted him with magic that big snake bastard is just not a fun fight and not one you beat conventionally. Chat is on some serious drugs if they think any reasonable human would sit there and fight it him with a jar cannon with its default moveset. Not a particularly hard task but soul crushingly slow and tedious props for not putting us through an actual hour of that.

That was dope man can’t believe you beat elden beast first try. You’re very good. Every time I get Elden Beast close to dead, I can’t seem to dodge his melee anymore, it’s like his hit boxes get bigger even though I don’t think that’s possible to program. I’ve only beat him once after like 40+ try’s
at 48:18, all he needed was 0.2 more equip load, and at 51:54, he needed 0.1 more. dist is truly cursed
Just think that the pure beauty of this game is the variety of weapons, skills, and builds you can use and still have a fun and viable play trough.

This run is super old, but I'd just like to mention how CLEAN that edit was for the Mohg cutscene, very nice. Also I love the idea that Dist just interrupted him and Mohg was like "Yeah sure bro" and then finished the speech once Dist got back, very funny mental image.

I've seen too many Elden Ring streams with the rudest damn chats. He's supposed to be having fun, too. I think they forget that. Like, really. I wouldn't have done the fight at all with that cannon due to pure tedium, glitch or not. It was the only fight in the whole run he did that way. That boss has like 80k health. No one has time for that 😂 just chill and let him have fun! Rykard is a gimmick boss! It's not like he modded the game or something. I mean FFS he beat Melania legit. I don't think you get to say shit after that.

I've had the Lux Ruins version of the boss instantly escape the stun animation.

No no, the jump adds many things, flare, airtime, fun, watchtime for the video etc.
You fire bows faster while landing than you do stationary, cuts out some of the starting lag. Makes the total time per shot shortly slower, but less time for enemies to dodge

The ancestor spirit fight bugged out for me. After his first fakeout teleport, when the room was filled with various animal spirits, it’s health just evaporated and it died

It's amazing what people can do in this game while talking about how replayability is too slow meanwhile, I've been starting over and over since release and have yet to defeat either a single godskin or the firegiant.
Replayability in elden ring is objectively lacking.
There is no real reason to go into ng+, unless you like opening a bunch of empty chests, collecting dozens of golden seeds you can't even use, or all the extra useless talismans you already collected in your first run, so now you have 3 of the same talisman.
DS2 did ng+ the best.
They had new enemy placements, bonfire esthetics, +1 and +2 rings that are exclusive to ng+
Secret boss souls that are only obtainable in ng+
Aswell as special weapons that you can't get in a new playthrough.
Elden ring has NONE of that.
Which sucks.
It's much easier for people to burn out on elden ring because there's nothing that really encourages a ng+ playthrough.
You don't even need ng+ to try out new builds either.
Don't forget to equip the Reiterpallasch in your right hand for parries and stock up on Bone Marrow Ash for big hits.

You can just make the horseback bridge guy follow you far enough up the mountain until he respawns back to his bridge and he will automatically die. We think because the level doesn’t exist to where he tries to teleport to when you’re not near it
I think it is fine that there are some glitches used on some bosses, after all they are optional bosses, not required to be beaten in the main story. But sure, it would be great if done legit.
