Hi! I just want to say how impressed that I AM with the Kansas City Southern AC4400 Locomotive! For one thing, I've noticed that the REAR "Ditch Lights" actually work! I am a DC Analog Modeler, and even with the DC Scaletrains "ET44AC" KCS Locomotives, the Rear Ditch Lights aren't lighted! Also, even in DC, the Athearn Numberboards are lighted too. Athearn did get with the program, and they now have these "Roller Bearings" that actually turn as the Locomotive is moving! Scaletrains (for a change) need to get with the PROGRAM on that Rear Ditch Light application. This is a great Video, but I personally like to use a very fine Paint Brush, Very, VERY lightly dipped in Black Paint, and do my handrails! I've done that with my KCS Diesels way back from the KCS Alpine White Paint Scheme, and into the Gray Scheme. Just easier for me...but everyone has their OWN way of doing it.
Athearn looked into having this detail done at the factory, however the amount of time to properly place them would have made the price point higher. Rather than leave them solid yellow, we have provided you with decals to replicate this detail and not charge extra. For the record, this is not the first Genesis model that includes details that must be added by the modeler.
Can you guys do a rerun on your NS ACe heritage units? Im trying to find the Athearn Genisis NYC unit, but nobody sells them, if you can do this that would be great, but if not, its ok! (I understand though, maybe they didnt sell well, or you guys ran out. But that was 10 years ago, idk.)

When I'm paying $300+ for this engine, why aren't these already applied? How many people want to try and put these on??
