A lifetime .300 hitter, a cancer survivor, a fun loving, quality player, loved and respected by his peers and by all MLB fans, and a 1-derful human being. John Kruk deserves a plaque in the Hall Of Excellence.
@@SpinningbacKFisT Did you see the movie That Thing You Do !, which was written and directed by Tom Hanks ??? If you did, then you may know why I use '1-derful'.
I haven’t enjoyed a Phillies game more then when that bunch was playing together

Rip Dutch.. Daulton n Kruk were 2 of my favorite players growing up.. Both great guys who cares about Philadelphia n just truly wanted to enjoy life.. Dutch will be greatly missed.
As a Padres fan I saw John in 1985 in Vegas the Padres triple A team. John hit a homerun over the McDonald's sign and got big Macs for a year. We all loved John's time in San Diego
Great times great memoires...Being a phils fan I went to his wall of fame induction night last year and was very lucky enough to meet the Krucker. I came prepared with 1 of his cards from 1989 and he was nice enough to sign it and my Kruk jersey! He's a hell of a guy.
I remember him being interviewed on Letterman, after being asked about his routine before the game. He said he gets to the ballpark a couple hours before the game, has a couple hot dogs, then takes a nap on the trainers table.
So glad he’s doing the telecasts now. Great hearing his "insights" on the game. That ‘93 team and season was really something special. Just a bunch of blue collar types working hard at their jobs. 😎🤘😷
Eye Spy...a Kentucky Waterfall, a Mississippi Mudflap, a 7, a Camaro Cut, a Norco Neck Warmer, a Tennessee Top Hat, a Soccer Rocker, and...and...and...a Schlong!!
I was a diehard fan of his as a teen. Have a plaque with his baseball card hanging on my wall that I bought in 92. He made me a Phillies fan and a baseball fan too.
My 14 year old friend moved to WV and used to play pick up basketball with him in the summers, so he did work out, some. Keyser, WV, so yeah, he was one them boys. That's some back country down there, reeeallly back
One of Beaumont, Tx Golden Gators finest! Played at Vincent Beck Stadium on Lamar University campus. Good memories for me but opposing pitchers feared our 25cent longneck cheering section though!
Good baseball player who quit the game because he didn’t want to face Randy Johnson 2,3 times a year! I always like but the first thing I remember about him is why he said he quit!
I remember that skit. The anchor was like, "What are you doing here? There's a game..." And when they score was announced, he got up and said, "I knew I should have been there..." Funny stuff.
I believe it's called either "Whatever it Takes, Dude" or "High Hopes". I think they're two different documentaries. Not sure which one this clip was pulled from. Both should be on TH-cam. Go Phils!!!!

@Big Smoke nice.
Well he’s at least on the Phillies wall of fame
Do you not know how to spell "wonderful" ? I've literally never once seen anyone spell it that way 😃

@@luishumbertovega3900 oh ok. That's cool.
Kruk, Dutch, Nails, etc. this was a fun team to watch. These guys were wild, good time in baseball history.
That was a fun season. My favorite Phillies team.
Rest easy Dutch.
I haven’t enjoyed a Phillies game more then when that bunch was playing together

Kruk was a hell of a hitter ...pure and simple
Yeah, he could hit. Very similar to Tony Gwynn or Wade Boggs during the late 80's and early 90's.
Gotta love John Kruk!! Loved him as a player, and love him as a broadcaster now, on the Phillies TV crew….
I loved John Kruk. What a personality.
And now he's our announcer for the games. I love it!!!
I love the Kruker!! He is a guy that looks like you go out and have a beer with.
There will never be another like the 93 Phillies. I love watching highlights of them I wish I was older at the time lol
Loved Kruky, worth the price of admission and he could play...!!!
There's a story where a lady was talking to John Kruk and referred to him as "an athlete." He said, "I'm not an athlete ma'am, I'm a ball player."
Squirrel on field
That is, without a doubt, one of the greatest quotes that I ever heard! You get a GREAT, BIG, HUMONGOUS thumb's up for reminding me of it!!!
Did he burp at the comma, cause I hear it for some reason
read his book.....that's the title....

That Phillies crew was something else. Great team.

SING FOR HIM JOHN KRUUUUK
he still kept that battery 8*)
The best part of Kruk vs Randy Johnson is Randy Johnson's reaction. He doesn't crack a smile, he's all business.
Tony gwynn has the best voice
Wow ! Ernie Banks , Tony Gwynn and others in that clip . Man I miss that USA .
Yea, 1993 was an amazing time in America, Mark Grace, Van Slyke less division.
The opportunity to mock can also define. Bill Murray', a class act!
Man, I cant stop thinking of Chris Farley when I look at him.
Jonny Blaze That's a fantastic comparison!
@@bigeric1030 Thats because farley played him on snl.lol

Kruk always looked like he was having a blast.
This guy is my absolute hero
He was quite a character, gotta love him !
Now a broadcaster. Sssoooo happy to have him. Never lost his sense of humor

Krukker is a great man both on and off the field.
John Kruk was awesome, I don't care what anyone says, he is one of the great Phillies.
Dutch's mullet was quite Epic ! RIP
this is when i fell in love with baseball. game was different and the players were a lot more personable and likeable.
"I need a hotdog" should be on Krukie's headstone.
3:32 Reggie had the greatest quote here!
2:24 was better and 5:00
If Mr October is saying things like that about you, You're doing something right.
It's actually a combo a three different Phillies yearbook videos ('91, '92, and '93).
It was funny seeing all the sunflower seed shells all around him when he played first base.
Love the Kruker’s sense of humor.
I have albums full of Kruk cards. He was a childhood fav for sure.
over .300 career hitter.
Yup, he walked off the field while playing with the White Sox after getting that hit and retired. I think it was a double. That was his retirement.
No he’s not he’s .300 exactly
I dig the old-time OF sunglasses AVS was sporting. Lol, I feel old.
Us Mets fans loved Kurk❤
Friends.. teammates, lovers... Amazing
I haven't seen Lenny Dykstra for a long time! Got to love the Phils!!!
You don't see Dykstra much these days because most of the time, these days, he's in the hoosegow!
Back in the day, when the mullet was king......
@Tom Douglas Sicks did he have a mullet?
Welcome to the future… it’s back lol
Miss that team
One of Beaumont, Tx Golden Gators finest! Played at Vincent Beck Stadium on Lamar University campus. Good memories for me but

Got hits John Kruk with the hand eye
Pretty sure Andy Van Slyke is drunk... 4:08
Or he's just an idiot
happy birthday john
60th birthday today!!! ⚾️
I'm seriously surprised that Tim McCarver didn't call him a disgrace to baseball when he refused to hit against Randy Johnson.
friends, teammates, lovers 😂😂😂
Phil Kessel if he played baseball
Good baseball player who quit the game because he didn’t want to face Randy Johnson 2,3 times a year! I always like but the first thing I remember about him is why he said he quit!
He looks like he could be Chris Farleys brother.
Joe Maggi chris farley did portray him once on snl weekend update
I remember that skit. The anchor was like, "What are you doing here? There's a game..."
And when they score was announced, he got up and said, "I knew I should have been there..."
Funny stuff.
He was actually pretty cute lol
I want to party with Kruk lol
5:13 tough luck kruk but you will HAVE to take it
How many Jersey numbers did Kruk wear? I seen 11, 19, 29 in his Phillies tenure
@stat... You didn't "seen", you "saw". C'mon... English "ain't" that difficult, moron.
Yes
Is there any footage of Kruk smoking cigarettes in the dugout?
great great and beloved player, fuck cancer!
I got this video for Christmas the year it came out. Anyone remember the name of it?
I believe it's called either "Whatever it Takes, Dude" or "High Hopes". I think they're two different documentaries. Not sure which one this clip was pulled from. Both should be on TH-cam. Go Phils!!!!
Looks like Kenny Powers
Somehow, Kruk outlived Daulton.
Mullets have entered the chat
If I told you he was from West Virginia you’d probably believe me. 😂
Their making fun of him, but he was a problem for pitchers. It was not a joke when he came to the plate.
where did all this footage come from?
These guys really embraced each other, and steroids.
Tim Carver's act to make people think he's smart was way more polished than John's.
Soooo much mullet.
Tony Gwynn probably shouldn't have said anything lol
Did Kruk and Johnson ever duel in a real game?
Jake?! I never knew…
sounds like Hank Hill
Whoever that of Nails, Kruk, and Dalton Dutch would turn out to be the lunatic and Krucky the most sane?
Nobody in the history of the Philadelphia Phillies had a better swing than John Kruk. I think the fat helped his balance in the swing.
John Kruk=Charles Barkley
Naw, Barkley’s more of a puppet than Kruk. And I luv them both!
Chris Farley's brother, I swear!
Here cause PMT lol
Sexiest ballplayer to ever be lovers w Dutch 2:30
he sounds like hank hill
"Kruck is not a good singeerrrrr"
The giddy donkey monthly book because ceiling echographically change throughout a illustrious consonant. utter, unequal crook
Them Phillies loved those mullets.
And for some reason theyre making a comeback 😂😂
Oh cool you mean back when baseball was authentic. F 2024 baseball.
