I pulled this up after hearing a Toto interview. I have heard the song before, but it's been a while. It is a very funky song. Great groove. Vocals, bass line, drumming, horn section, and fantastic guitar solo. But live, Jean-Michel Byron was not a good fit for the band. Embarrassingly performance style while he wore a white Michael Jackson glove and clothes and danced around the stage. He also struggled to sing songs that were originally performed by previous Toto lead singers. But his recorded songs are good. Animal, Love Has the Power and Out Of Love all from the album Past To Present are nice additions to the Toto catalogue.
Always been one of my Toto favorites! Is it rock or is it "jazz"? Toto did a few slightly jazz "flavored" numbers. Always thought they should give it a try with an all jazz kind of album. Just call it "Totolly Jazz"!
who said anything about audiophiles... I personally use both tidal and spotify, and spotify isnt that far off. You will notice some compression, on some songs more than others, ONLY IF you have the right hardware (I'm about $6k deep in my car) but for 80% of people, they dont have the equipment to even tell. And, the Spotify UI and features are the standard for music apps imo, making it a fair choice for anyone to enjoy music on.
Jean Michel Byron shoudn't have been the singer of the band, but Toto should have produced a solo album for him, he's a great singer and songwriter. It could have been great.
Yeah. That would’ve been a better option. Byron just didn’t fit the band’s style at all. But, they really had no choice. If they didn’t hire Byron, they would risk being dropped by their record company. Toto producing a solo album for Jean-Michel Byron would’ve actually been pretty interesting though.
Agree, it would have been a great idea for TOTO to produce his album. Those four then-new songs, including this one featured on "Past To Present," were uniquely amazing.
I never felt like this with someone, I never knew I could feel this way at all Predestination by appointment, Storybook realities are coming true I was scared, you looked so helpless, Lust was dressed in good disguise I took you on to meet my mother Just like me, she fell straight in love with you You took me to your own apartment, was it me or does the night do things to you You read from Venus and Adonis, so honey how could I resist I C'mon baby we've got tonight No one loses when two tigers fights I lift you up, never let you down I'll be the jester and you'll be the crown We're instinctively impulsive, we're animals A body like yours should be arrested, Honey I should be locked up in a cage We are flesh, we are carnal, we are human We've got desires we can't contain Smoke alarm is going off again, I guess I'm gonna have to cool you down Say c'mom baby, we've got tonight, No one loses when two tigers fight You'll be fire, I'll be the ice, so come on baby melt me ooh so nice Instinctively impulsive, we're animals Some girls may turn my head, but only you, baby, turn me on When we touch it's so explosive, it's seems my life's been leading to this Say c'mon baby, we've got tonight, no one loses when to tigers fight You'll be fire, I'll be the ice, so come on baby melt me ooh so nice Is it rythm, is it magic, we're animals
Past to present as a whole album is on Spotify, but this song isn't available.. It's listed, but it's greyed out and you can't play it. Very frustrating.
@@christophebegot341 Jeff liked him but not the others so much. They were thinking he was too flamboyant for the band. His voice has a more soul/r&b vibe rather than rock but i always liked this one and Out of love.
Lukather’s solo = 🔥
The rhythm section is like no other, one brain, one magnificent musical brain!
Porcaro brothers absolutely killing the game
The bass playing kicks ass! RIP Mike Porcaro.
TOTO & DURAN DURAN ,MAGNUM, JEFFERSON STARSHIP, QUEEN,AND EARST WIND & FIRE/ CHICAGO This my lovely band group
Such a catchy tune. I keep replaying it!!
awesome song - some of their best work was never released as singles - true gems
Underrated track that would’ve made a great single.

It’s been said the record company forced him on the band..
Tower of Power horns!
This song is groovy

Why this song is not on Spotify?
Spotify is not for audiophiles

I never felt like this with someone,
I never knew I could feel this way at all
Predestination by appointment,
Storybook realities are coming true
I was scared, you looked so helpless,
Lust was dressed in good disguise
I took you on to meet my mother
Just like me, she fell straight in love with you
You took me to your own apartment,
was it me or does the night do things to you
You read from Venus and Adonis, so honey how could I resist I
C'mon baby we've got tonight
No one loses when two tigers fights
I lift you up, never let you down
I'll be the jester and you'll be the crown
We're instinctively impulsive, we're animals
A body like yours should be arrested,
Honey I should be locked up in a cage
We are flesh, we are carnal, we are human
We've got desires we can't contain
Smoke alarm is going off again,
I guess I'm gonna have to cool you down
Say c'mom baby, we've got tonight,
No one loses when two tigers fight
You'll be fire, I'll be the ice,
so come on baby melt me ooh so nice
Instinctively impulsive, we're animals
Some girls may turn my head,
but only you, baby, turn me on
When we touch it's so explosive,
it's seems my life's been leading to this
Say c'mon baby, we've got tonight,
no one loses when to tigers fight
You'll be fire, I'll be the ice,
so come on baby melt me ooh so nice
Is it rythm, is it magic, we're animals
Thanks, I never suspected that the lyrics were that hot :-)

Vocals reminds me somewhat of Michael Jackson. Who sings on this?
Jean-Michel Byron
Jean-Michel Byron, singer of ToTo just one year ( Animal, Out of love, Love has the power and Can you hear what i'm saying )
@@christophebegot341 Jeff liked him but not the others so much. They were thinking he was too flamboyant for the band. His voice has a more soul/r&b vibe rather than rock but i always liked this one and Out of love.
