Does indexation benefit apply to investments made before March 2023? For Debt and International funds
What will be the taxation for investments in debt funds made before March 2023?
STCG - as per slab
LTCG - 20% with indexation (holding period greater than 3Y)
Will fund of funds that hold international equity be taxed now at 12.5% instead of income tax slab?
Unnecessary increase in capital gains on ltcg and stcg on equity. Middle class will become poor class by 2029 with this taxation so that Congress will come to power in 2029 and give freebies for poor middle class as well.
Those who all thought fd is not enough and moved for MF newly you can say Middle class in this context for their basic savings, who got convinced as Mutual fund Shai hey 😂
Only 8 crore people invest in the equity market in India. The participation of the middle class in the equity market is negligible so they won't be affected much.
LTCG should be abolished
Hi..for parag park dynamic asset allocation fund and gold mutal fund, if i redeem after 24 months, will i get first 1.25 lacs ltcg taxfree?
Hi Sir, Will the Motilal and Oswal S&P 500 index fund be taxed at slab now or at 12.5?
When investing in Debt funds and international equity funds pre 31st March 2023. In the budget it was said grandfathering i.e indexing will apply going forward to those who have invested. Wonder what will happen to these funds?
If you purchased beore mar 31st and sold after July 23rd 2024 and 2Y have elapsed then 12.5% without indexation
@@pattufreefincal what if we continue to hold debt funds and international equity fofs invested before 31st March 2023 for over 3 years? And sell post 3 years.
For example, I have 2 mutual funds both I have redeemed for 2 Lakhs. Do the 1.25 Lakhs apply for individual funds or 1.25 Lakhs for both.
Thank you so much for the crisp and quick video 🙏.
I have just invested in HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund, ICICI Balanced Advantage Fund and ICICI Multi Asset Allocation Fund in January. Will the above be treated as 'All other Funds' ?
They are all equity funds if they hold 65% equity which I think they do
Hi Pattu sir, if i hold parag pariekh dynamic asset allocation fund then also i have to pay 12.5% on LTCG right? Kindly clarify
Simplified to the point interpretation thanks
What about stock buyback ? Earlier no tax now it will be taxed as per slab. Is it true ?
How ppfas daaf taxed. I have invested for indexation benefits? What will be strategy now ? Should i continue in this or pure debt fund ?
@@pattufreefincalyes mentioned but wanted to know your thoughts on daaf should one continue?
What about grandfathering sir? All before 2018 invested 0% and all after that 12.5%, is that correct? Or this 2018-2024 invested amounts have any difference?
What if ALL aasets are taxed at slab rate irrespective of holding period? Your thoughts?
Thank you for the clarification on PPFAS DAA. Also SBI Multi asset fund fall in the same category. What about the arbitrage fund sir? I saw in a TV new channel that tax efficiency is removed but is it considered debt fund?
what about us equity?
@@pattufreefincaldoes direct US equity also qualify for 12.5% LTCG if held greater than 1 year?
@@MiteshFuriano.. all foreign funds, mf and fof are taxed as per slabs since 2023.
This is actually a very good step to rationalize the rates.
So its better to invest in fds for debt part if one is not in high tax slab
Fds + pure equity
