I think I've watched every slot car TH-cam video and looked at every forum member track photo dreaming of my own track, and I have to say Joey, this is one of the top 3 tracks I've seen. The layout, the detail, the landscaping, very very nice. Well done.
Marvin St John, We use a thing called a "Grabber" to retrieve cars that have derailed. The Grabber is a 2 foot long pole type thing with a trigger on one end and a clamp on the other. Makes car retrieval quick and easy.
I've seen in pictures the "Grabber" things you refer to. It doesn't look like it would be either quick or easy. I really like your set up, though I'd prefer 4 lanes. That aside it looks great and I can see there was a ton of work with the landscaping. Questions: What is the average lap time? With those "grabbers" how long does it take to put a car back on the track?
Hi Joey. I just now got into HOslot car racing again. I did it back when I was 10. I’m 57 now and saw your video with the 1/32 cars. AWESOME, outstanding work. I only wish I had the room. That was a great inspiration for me.
200+ feet of Carrera Digital 1/32 two lane track on a 22' x 10' table. Carrera is the best track system in my opinion (would Germans make anything less than perfect!). If you make another layout please post it! I really enjoy the kind of work you do, very much like my dream.
If I lived near you I wouldn't waste my time trying to build my own setup, I'd just pay you a door fee and play at your house everytime!!! Really nice setup
Anders Haglund, the divider is just thick construction board cut and wrapped in adhesive stickers I printed on my computer. All the lights are just led's I made. The street lights are a combination of led's, razor blade handles and 1/4 copper tubing.
These cars never seem to come off unless there is a collision. I'm just now getting into 1/24 Flexi cars myself... I fall off like the newb I am way too much :P
Hello, you have built a very nice slot track, I really like it.👌👍 I would be interested in the route plan and the size of the slot track. Is your slot track still up to date? Best regards Bernd
On second look it looks like the Jim Beam sign may be a smart device of some sort at the back of your bank turn? I also had a question about the highway lighting- purchased or home-built?
Great video, inspired me to change from HO scale to Carrera digital.Unique lights, did you use 1/4" tubing for the light poles? Hope you are still slotting.
I am looking for the Jim Beam sign you have. I found all the others from Miller engineering, but cannot locate that one. was is a one-off or limited run? Can you tell me where to find one like that?
Really nice track...And my absolute favorite cars!!! Are you a member of SCI? Also, if you don't already have anti collision chips you should some them from Earthbound. They work great and preserve cars, especially when running in ghost mode. GREAT TRACK!!!
Hey Joe once again what an inspiration your track is. The alternating flashing yellow warning lights, did you use a certain flasher kit to do that or build your own? Thanks
It is all woodland scenics trees and grass. All the buildings are made from whiteboard, construction board and decals. The rest of the landscape is painted Plaster of Paris.

+ro0ky I'm wondering if all or part of it was made from combining sets. I'm probably gong to get a carrera 132 digital set in a couple months and I'm wondering which one. keeping in mind future expansion possibility.
+wallbreaker2 My guess is it was made from a starter set then multiple track extension kits since you only need the 1 control unit. I started with the Carrera Race Party set which includes 3 cars.
If you plan to make a large layout, buy the biggest combo package you can afford up front. Buying combo tracks is cheaper than buying everything seperate. So get one with as many upgrades as you can.....wireless controllers, pitstop, multiple cars, etc. Then you can go back and add track as you see fit. I had over 200 feet of track and ran 4 cars easily with just the stock power supply.
Anthony Ramsey, they either didn't like the video quality, wasnt a fan of Motley Crue or was just jealous that their track didnt look this good. Lol!! It was a lot of hours and fun building this track. Maybe one day I'll build another.
The lights are home built with 3 watt white leds, Bic razor blade handles and copper tubing. The cars have silicone tires and upgraded magnets. That's how they stay on the track so well.
+Joey Gafford Carrera is the best track system in my opinion (would Germans make anything less than perfect!). If you make another layout please post it! I really enjoy the kind of work you do, very much like my dream.
I apologize if I'm not answering any of your questions. I get alerts that there is "new activity" on my video, but it doesn't show up under my comments untill days later and they are not in order. They are scattered all up and down the comments section. So again, I am sorry.
+Joey Gafford no worries, just post any new work you do if you make another layout or video of the old one. I'm assuming you can visit the person you sold it to.
Thanks everyone. It was great fun building this track and even more fun racing.
What a great hobby!!

Magnifique ( nice) ;)
Nice looking and functioning setup.I would love to do some racing on that layout.
Bad ass!
Please update your video quality, after all the money you spent on this your video quality is needing! This is worthy of much better representation!
Genial!!

Best one I've seen, how do you get you Carreras to stay on the track at that speed, and where did you get the street lights?
Hell yes!!
On second look it looks like the Jim Beam sign may be a smart device of some sort at the back of your bank turn? I also had a question about the highway lighting- purchased or home-built?
would love to see if this track is still up and running or what new creation you've come up with (in HD video :) )
Thats a sick slot car track where did you get those lights for the track
thnaks
Great layout, can you tell me how tall your street lights are. I'm not sure what height the lights should be for 1/32 scale.

Great Track!Wich cars are those?I wabt to buy a really good one for my Digital 132
Thanks for sharing. Where did you get the divider between the pit and the start straight and the fantastic looking flood lights?
Hi! Great track! Could you send me s plan of the track?
Hey Joe once again what an inspiration your track is. The alternating flashing yellow warning lights, did you use a certain flasher kit to do that or build your own? Thanks
I will subscribe after the video is 720+
What's the total width and length of that track...and nice
where did you get the street lights
Thanks anyway. What banked curve did you use.
4/15 bank turn with a full length straight inbetween.
F.Y.I I think the scenery is Woodland Scenics with assorted Carrera buildings.

WHAT??! 22x10 ... that's all the space required?
Unfinished basement use question ..... resolved!
😍😍😍😍😍
Nice track I have the room to build. Can you send me the plans
I don't have the plans to the track. It was built as I went along. So I don't have an actual drawing of the layout.
Joey, What size LED's did you use for the street lights and yellow warning lights. (3mm or 5mm)?
They were all 5mm.
@@Arowana6969 thanks fabulous track best I have seen
Is the track totally custom or is it made from combining tracks and if it's made from combining tracks which ones?

who does he get a car that goes off track?
layout plans?
very very nice! how many PowerTaps???
I added 4 total extra taps. Probably didnt need it, but it kept up to 6 cars running with no interruption.
@@Arowana6969 thx a lot! 😎

This video was shot almost 3 years ago on a Droid. It didn't have 720p video.
The track has since been sold and resides at a new location.
