Right it seems more the group got popular the less she belted and less she was able to showcase her vocal ability which is unfortunately bc she had the most technical improvement out of her band mates

Normani has so much vocal potential . She has such a beautiful voice and its clear that now she holds back a lot which is understandable with everything she went through in that group and even now people constantly undermining her vocal abilities. But with the right practice and gaining her confidence back , she will shut it down. I am tired of people acting like she is just a dancer.
She's really holding back a lot of her potential!! Esp on those upper belts 9:09 I have never heard her sustain an E5 like that! She needs to do more higher belts. Most of the time she doesn't belt past C5 so we never really get to see what she's capable of.

Normani is such an amazing singer! Her voice really shines when belting, like most sopranos. I think that she can do so much more with her voice than what she does now. If she works on her belting technique, she'd be a force to reckon with because she'd be a professional dancer with good singing technique as well 💙💙💙
Wow. I really like her mix from Eb5 and upwards. I feel like her mid-belts (A4-D5) lack depth and power. But when she is able to use her head voice in the upper belts, she sounds really great :)
Something I’ve noticed is that she has trouble with certain vowel phrasings. Most of her O phrased belts (e.g. that excellent national anthem B4/Bb4 OMG) are actually pretty good, and also a lot of her closed A and Es. She seems to struggle more with the open As, Es, Us, and both closed and open Is. The closed U phrased belts seem like a quick fix though because they’re not unstable like the others. It just sound like she needs to project them forward more. The technique on her upper belts isn’t great but I love how free they sound when she’s just having fun. Nerves are definitely part of what’s holding her back live.
People saying she “lip syncs” only, most of the very famous singers today lip sync and it’s not bad at all since they could háve a cold and wanna take care of their voice, Normani is amazing even tho she’s not very consistent. Girl can slay vocal runs
I wouldn’t mind a artist like Normani lip syncing because she does a lot of dancing that’s understandable but if you’re gonna stand there like Rachel berry you better sing live
