      Thanks. This was my first time walking this street end-to-end so it was a nice surprise for me when it ended at the water at sunset. Good timing and good luck, I thought.

    I'm glad Vancouver isn't changed that much by the g20-summit like Toronto did.

    Nice video! What are some trees' base wrapped or encased with a protective material?

    • @allovervancouver2456
      @allovervancouver2456  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sharp eyes! They are called Treegators or tree watering bags. Newly planted trees require a lot of water to survive and thrive. Normal watering with a hose will just cause the water to run off and is wasted. These bags hold the water in and slowly seep out into the ground allowing for the roots to grow and take hold. Thanks for watching and for your great question!

    This sure takes me back 15 years ago. My usual haunting ground from to and fro from school. With or without the crack-heads and countless bums on the street, it's still a cool place. The dollar pizza at night. That large library. Everyone just chillin'. (I wonder what are they building by the Cathedral and the Post-office.)

      I used to work across from the library myself, and this was my haunting ground too. I sure miss hanging out at the library atrium after work, sipping my Blenz latte, having a Flying Wedge Pizza slice, reading the Georgia Straight checking out what's going on downtown. Fond memories for sure. Except for the Stanley Cup riot, now that wasn't fun at all being caught right in the middle of it.

      I was impressed by the library. One wet day when I was on holiday I spent an afternoon reading there.

    My study permit for Canada was refused on 18th May. I applied to a college in Vancouver. I am going to reapply for visa in this month for september intake. I hope I get the visa bc this will change my life. If there is god somewhere he will see my struggle and help me get the visa.
    If i get the visa, I am going to like this video and subscribe to this channel.

    good definition, what camera do you use?

    • @allovervancouver2456

      Hi, thanks. I'm very low-tech and low-budget. I just use my phone, Samsung S8+ mounted on the Zhiyun Smooth-Q Gimbal. I like the idea of shooting/creating videos with something you handily carry in your pocket every day.

    • @mikeos1
      @mikeos1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's very interesting. So does the phone apply stabilisation in-camera. It's very smooth.

    • @allovervancouver2456
      @allovervancouver2456  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The phone does have some stabilization, but what makes these walk videos possible is the Zhiyun Smooth-Q gimbal I use as a mount. It's relatively cheap and easy to use. Someday I'll upgrade my gear, but right now it does the job. Keeping it simple for the moment.

      Very good quality. It's amazing what cellphones can do these days. My old videos were with a Sony camcorder. They look a bit fuzzy these days. I stabilised them in post using Pro Dad Mercalli software to improve them a bit.

    We enjoyed Vancouver alot shame about the homeless people all over wasnt expecting that !

    • @allovervancouver2456

      That is true, it's a sad situation and it seems to be a growing concern. I've been told it's because Vancouver has a more favorable climate year-round than other major cities in Canada, that it draws more people to move here and take their chances in the streets of Vancouver. I'm not aware of any studies, plans or legislation to remedy this situation at the moment, unfortunately.

      I hope you had a great time and nice weather. Or were you here during the forest fires when the whole city was greyed out with smoke?? Where are you from by the way?

    • @peterholder392

      That's awesome! I have not been whale-watching myself, but that's a great idea for a future video. I'll add it to my already long to-do list. Thanks!
