A #sunflower is a flowering plant that has flowers that look a lot like the sun.

In fact, the bloom of a sunflower has two parts.
The center or disk contains all of those small flowers packed closely together. Some sunflowers have disks that are 12 inches wide.
The disk flowers are brown, yellow, or purple.
The flowers around the outside are called Ray Flowers. They are golden yellow.
Sunflower seeds are the fruit of a sunflower. These seeds can be eaten or turned into an oil.
