    I've had these on my Silverado since the beginning of February in north eastern Wisconsin. A few small snowfalls we've had, the tires performed excellent! Im extremely happy with them!

    Thanks for the review! I was considering these as a replacement for the pirellis, but with an 11% range hit and for how often I off-road and on the types of trails I'm hitting in the northwest, I think I'm going to stick with the stock tires. Much appreciated man!

      KO3 are lighter and less aggressive. I would suggest those as well. I love the Falkens and have the RT01s on my 23 Tundra. I am looking at the R1T and R1S atm. If I go for either I will be looking at the AT4s, KO3 and the Baja Boss ATs.

    Thanks for the great review and comparison to the OEM Pirellis! I've got the Falken Wildpeak AT3W on our R1S and I'm averaging about 1.74 mi/kWh after about 7,500 miles. I've had the vehicle for about 4-1/2 months, so I'm guessing our cooler temps in that time (Boise, ID) are why we are struggling to see above 1.8. Hopefully in the warmer months, we'll see a bit better range due to the battery operating at warmer temps.

    Long way away from my future lightly used R2 I plan on purchasing around 2028 (maybe buy new) but been looking at these tires for my current 2017 jeep Cherokee. Think I’m going Kumho at52 or I hear the Yokohama geo15 are very quiet.
    My #1 choice is Michelin Defender LTX platinums for the noise and gas mileage but the only make them for 20” rims. Really fascinated in the tires sidewall protection and hear it handles mud and snow well but find it a bit hard to believe
    Anyway really enjoy the channel! Be sure to check out Californias Lost Coast overland Trail (Usal Rd from Usal beach to kings peak rd over to mattole rd and come out near a rivian adventure network by the Safeway near hwy 101. Would have some AMAZING drone shots of the lost coast.

      @@ChargeOverland Just saw a rivian out here driving on the beach, tried to tell them take Usal but doubt they did, they were legitimately interested tho. Ended up with the Yokohama Geolander GO15 which heard are very quiet but off-roading could be better. One review said “Better than A/T tire on the highway, Better than a H/T off-road”. Oh yeah you can drive in the beach here in shelter cove after usal. Locals maybe a bit odd though an actually off-roading Rivian and not a mall crawling family 😂

    Excellent, practical review. I appreciate you covering db's but also mentioning drone. Most cover the loudness but not the pitch of the sound. Our R1S is a Sedona, AZ vehicle that requires off-road-ability. We are rock slider equipped but stock Pirellis not inspiring confidence in the survival department off-road. I am definitely waiting to see more on the KO3's as they become more widely available as they are potentially a little lighter. Question... The A/T4W's you reviewed are the E rated tires which I believe are the 80psi max and thus heavier tire. The LT version is the 50psi max tire, lighter, but I haven't been able to ascertain whether the LT version is suitable for Rivians. Most tire shops won't mount unless load capability is adequate. Do you have any information on that topic or is my question a misguided concern?

    • @ChargeOverland
      @ChargeOverland  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks and glad you enjoyed the review! As far as the mounting the LT version I don’t personally have info on that but maybe someone else will drop a comment if they do👍🏻

    It sounds like the range comparison was with used Perelli's, how many miles were on those tires? I wonder if the reduced tread and thus weight, made the comparison even more stark and not quite comparable. It would be similar to how people change tire brands and remark how much gripper the new brand is when some or all of it is the switch from a used tire with little remaining tread to a brand new tire. The change in experience being largely going from old to new rather than brand to brand.
    Thanks for the review regardless. I've had the AT3W on my van for 4 years and debating on getting the same or AT4W's.

    • @ChargeOverland

      Good question for sure! I’ve been logging the efficiency on all my major trips since I got the truck so I had plenty of numbers to compare to over the life of the OEM tires. I’d think the increase in weight and also more aggressive tread is a much more likely reason for the efficiency hit👍🏻

    I think I'm going to pass on these for my R1T. I've got a Wrangler with A/T3Ws that I can use for the more challenging trails. I'll stick with Pirelli for now since range is more important for me at this point.

    • @TheArtofDisruption
      @TheArtofDisruption 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Where weight is a consideration, the KO3 makes a lot of sense. They are only available in limited sizes currently, but the AT4W is REALLY heavy for this class. Good for for an HD truck or if you’re going to be towing heavy, probably not ideal for an EV IMO

    Hi Steven, do you still have the wildpeaks on your rivian? I completed 33k on the wildpeaks on my Model Y. Rotated every 10k miles. Now with even the slightest rain, i loose traction on turns in street and have to take turns very slow not to skid out of control. Not sure if its cos of the weight of EVs. Just a heads up.

    Bought a set a month ago for my 2011 F150 FX4. I'm disappointed in the highway driving performac. The tires require a lot of driver attention to keep the truck on track compared to the Bridgestone Dueller Revos I had on it previously. I have to make small adjustments as if the steering is loose. I've had the car aligned by the top independent alignment shop in the area and the suspension checked, so this is not the issue. Has anyone else experienced this with these tires?
