I'd have to say "you were my constant, my touchstone" is one of my all time favourite mulder and Scully moments. Not only was it a vocalization of their relationship, but it was a real turning point of understanding. In that moment, after going through hell and back for each other, they were both entirely transparent about how much they loved each other in the purest sense of the word. It was such a special moment sealed by some beautiful camerawork, well-placed music and, as always, the incredibly talent of Gillian and David. Kim Manners, God rest his soul, was absolutely right; theirs is one of if not the greatest relationships ever put to film.
The baseball scene in the Unnatural, the dance scene in the PMP, the scene with Mulder, Scully and Modell in Pusher, the final scene in the Truth with Scully, Mulder and their son.
You're joking, What isn't their best moment? Even their angst, pained and angry moments are brilliant because of how layered the relationship is. At it's core is a bond built on utter trust, respect, admiration, devotion and deep love. They were closer than friends even before they became lovers. Every look and touch had such depth and intimacy and that is why they are the gods of OTP's to this day. Oh yeah and their chemistry is something incredibly special. But alas i'm such a sucker for the angst filled moments between them especially when one of them was in danger: I will say though, Duchovny's performance during the abduction and cancer arcs was astounding to watch. He showed such grief, guilt, devastation and desperation. The whole performance was Emmy worthy IMO and He really captured a mulder who was not only a broken mess because Scully was taken from him but a Mulder who was deeply in love with Scully who was taken from him. - When he raced to find her in ascension - choking the life out of Duane Barry because he might have hurt her - his conversations with Maggie - wearing Scully's cross - his rage against CSM "why her?" - when she was returned in the hospital - his breaking down in his thrashed apartment - his heartfelt plea to comatose Scully. And then during the cancer arc: - when he refused to accept her diagnosis as terminal - his support yet heartbreak when her symptoms kept showing up - Their argument about the cancer and Scully holding back from him "why can't you be honest with me?" - Jesus, Him doubling over because the breath was knocked out of him when he saw her in her final stages of the cancer in hospital - his total adoration visiting her when she woke - Oh my god, his utter devastating silent anguish at her hospital bed during the night when she was asleep, - him infiltrating the pentagon to save her - his relieved cry when she went into remission with the new chip implanted.
Mulder and Scully's relationship is iconic and unparalleled. I've never seen an onscreen pairing that's gotten me all up in my feels the way these two have.
AHAHAHAH I love how the scene of them meeting for the first time and Mulder being all snarky immediately cuts to a scene of them hugging in bed. ditto for the last scene, the parallel between the first and last episode. god bless whoever made this (although i cant imagine how tf chris carter approved it)
