Bangladesh is doing the same thing bro. We liberated Bangladesh in the year 1971, and it's India that has done so many investments and infra projects there including rail networks, airports, shipyards, harbours, etc. There are certain river disputes and immigration disputes between the 2 nations but mostly these nations practiced closed ties until recent times. Public hatred towards India had never risen to such an extent ever in the past. Same about Nepal and Sri Lanka. So it's a political campaign for votes and counter arguments. Diplomatic relations between 2 countries are formed on the basis of need not what the public wants. So both these parties understand the importance of India for Maldives so we must ignore these protests. It's just a political game that doesn't concern us.
However if any Indian national or tourist is hurt in the process, then India must take prompt action and ban tourism to Maldives that would be enough to cripple their tourism sector.
That's why India has no true allies,Nepal,Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bangladesh are snakes who take help from India then bite them back

In my opinion , this divergence in Maldivians against India is temporary. It looks more like a bad image painted for India by a political party for its votebank which to some extent looks same as situations in Canada. Except for the fact , without the govt. support , Maldives existence is very unfeasible. Ofcourse , they seem to have influenced by china somehow but Let's wait and watch before judging the whole thing.
But some type of people never wait and never miss the chance to bring Hindu Muslim conflict everywhere supporting their beloved political party. But we believe changes will come very soon.

We don't require maldives for tourism but to break China's strategies. However, instead of depending on these island govt should think to build and develop our own islands (like UAE) in Indian Ocean.
