The Pastor is by far the most coherent and knowledgeable voice in this particular discussion between Kings and Bloods. Even his historical analysis was on point. In Chicago BPS and LK are considered first cousins. Black panthers were not part of the people alliance. Interestingly enough, J Edgar Hoover in the 60’s tried to cause a war between the Panthers and Stones in Chicago. Fred Hampton and Jeff Fort didn’t go for it. This info is available if you read the counter intelligence papers. African Americans, Puerto Rican’s, Dominicans , Haitians , Jamaicans etc. are All part of the African Diaspora. Do your own research though.

We dont have as many Dominicans in Chicago as NY but I know Dominicans Blacker than Wesley Snipes that consider it an insult to call them Black. They will fight you if you refer to them as Black even though they are Black. My mother is Ecuadorian and I have Black people in my family from my Ecuadorian side. I took a DNA test and I am 18% West African. I have Black Aunts and Uncles in Ecuador because we have African ancestry. @King Rome You contradict yourself. Every other Puerto Rican and Dominican I know calls himself Spanish and yet I'm suppose to believe that the term Hispanic, which as you say refers to Spaniards only (by your incorrect definition) offends them. You realize this is contadictory? Now that being said: the pastor claims that in the 50s and 60s the term Hispanic was used in a derogatory way. I know that is incorrect because no one used the term outside of academia prior to the 1970s census. The pastor didn't grow up in the 50s and 60s.

Pastor got that 60s panther vibe, mel and ck said alot of the same sentiments but it just came out differently. Then BO got like the in between 5% vibe. All are valid perspectives. It really just shows the evolution. It’s like the 60s vibe. The 70s vibe. And the hardcore 80s/90s HipHop generation vibe. In 3 interviews.

"Hispanic" originaly means being from Hispania which is Spain and Portugal in europe. Then in ameria it was reduced to call spanish speaking people in general
Latin countries are those whose cultures and languages originated from the latium aera and later on the roman empire . That is portugual, italy, Spain and France.
So "latino america"is all american countries where portuguese spanish and french is spoken. That even makes Haiti part of it. But in usa the term latino has been reduced to call spanish speaking people only

Pastor Benny is wrong about where the word Hispanic comes from. The term Hispanic derives from Latin Hispanicus ('Spanish'), the adjectival derivation of Latin (and Greek) Hispania ('Spain') and Hispanus/Hispanos ('Spaniard'), ultimately probably of Celtiberian origin. In English the word is attested from the 16th century (and in the late 19th century in American English).
Hispanic refers to people who speak Spanish and/or are descended from Spain , while Latino refers to people who are from or descended from people from Latin America. Don't believe what people say as a fact educate yourself. Knowledge is Power.
