You are the only person I have heard advise people to wash with water, bidet or peri bottle. Thank you for being that real. Being fresh means washing when you go to the Bathroom. Girl i am a 12 year old girl who is going through that right now and omg the cramps are a real pain (literally!) and when i go through it i am so out of it and sometimes i dont really take care of myself so thank u for this girl!
lol not youtube calling me out :/ i did an egg donation and i swear it changed my hormones so crazy I have NEVERRR in my life smelled like this and its blowing me glad I ran across this
Did IVF and when I say it's having a MEGA-SUPER-ULTRA cycle, it's having a MEGA-SUPER-ULTRA cycle in every way! The irritability, bloat, hunger, hot flashes, mood swings, nausea, cramps, swelling, heavy bleeding, all symptoms were on 1000%. But after doing the IVF cycle, my periods have gotten lighter, and milder than prior to IVF. Its weird. But wearing period underwear at night and during day time hours using tampons keep everything fresh and no accidents in the sheets.
I used to suffer with bad period cramps especially on the first day I couldn’t move, I was nauseous and sometimes throw up and I have fainted a few times due to the pain. I started taking flaxseed oil capsules about 2 years ago for their many benefits, and when I started my period I noticed I had little to no cramps, at first I didn’t realise it was the capsules until I ran out and I didn’t purchase them for a few months and the pain came back. I really recommend trying them yourself, I’m not saying it will work for every one but it worked for me :)
i’ve heard that menstrual cups eliminates the smell because the blood doesn’t hit the air. apparently they also help with cramps and long periods because they don’t have the chemicals in them that pads and tampons normally have. i’ve never tried it, so i’m not sure, but i wanted to share :)
I've been using it in the last 3 years and it's been a game changer! Before I used to use pads and I was so self conscious of the odor... The menstrual cup made any odor disappears and helped with my cystitis (before I had one with every period even if I washed and changed). PS: sorry if there's some grammatical errors, I'm from Italy and I'm still learning English
@nayeon_5615nooo!!! I will say it’s a serious learning curve but you can get it by the second period. The rim is what locks it in place, which is what you want bc it prevents leaks. You just need to be able to release it. What I did to break that seal is squat over the toilet, kegel while gently pulling stem, then once it’s part way out pinch the base, and pull it down. You could also use a finger to gently press against the side to help
I drink cocoa while I am on my periods and I feel really weak. Sometimes I get really bad cramps that I literally cannot stand it. I don’t know why but cocoa has helped me. In April I drank it before, during and after and I didn’t get that intensity of cramps that I usually get.
I love morning showers to wake up. And recently I swap eating in the evenings with washing my body nicely sweet bath and shower products. So the act of shower for me is act of self care twice a day. Kisses to you!
Hey Sara I’m a 13 yr old who’s been watching your vids for hygiene and I’ve also been watching for like a year I love your vids it makes me feel aware that hygiene is key and my skin has started to clear gradually I’m so blessed to have you !!! Could you give diet tips?! I’m also based in the uk!! So I’ve had to switch up some of the products since the uk doesn’t allow certain products but omg!! You’ve helped!!❤
I love this, and so glad you shared your story. I stopped using birth control almost a decade ago. The best advice I have is eating more leafy greens and/or adding a chlorophyll supplement with your food. Chlorophyll in green plants (Such as spinach, collards, kale, romaine lettuce, arugula, etc.) aids in blood flow, detoxification of the body (helping with odor in general) and clearing skin. Most of the time it comes in liquid or powder form; I add it to my teas, mushroom coffee or just electrolyte water (Great call on that 😉). Love your videos KEEP GOING 🌟
Baby wipes, and pads with mint/lavender, has helped me with cramps..there used to be chamomile pads man life savers those were. But they sell them in mexico. Thanks for the tips sis❤
girl yess lots water intake especially when that time the month and like you mentioned if have good idea of your own cycle and can recognize your body letting you know like heyy mother natures popping in n know might get bad cramps take soon as recognize certain things your body tells you, if makes any sense
I had the same cramp pain problem and I went to the doctors and found out I have Dysmenooreah which is severe period cramps which is caused by imbalance of my hormones , which is normal but very rare in most girls and now I got better medication for when I'm on my days to help with the pain and tummy cramps 😊😅
Oh my gosh i’m 12, and expecting my period soon 😬. I’ve been getting a bit of discharge and i’m so nervous, but i feel better watching videos like these so i’ll know what to expect! Thank you for making this!
I had mine yesterday for the first time and everything is okay! Do not worry if its brown or black the first time its normal. But I GUESS if everytime you see your blood its black idk if its okay but I think it can be fixed so don't worry its nothing. I couldn't believe it happened to me i wouldn't think it would happen just like that so.
Hi! I just stopped hormonal birth control last month and I’m terrified for my first real period 🙈 I saw a naturalpath two months ago and he recommended “seed cycling” to prepare my body/ hormones to coming off the pill and beyond. I asked him for vitamins or something but he mentioned that the naturally occurring nutrients in pumpkin, flax/ sesame, sunflower seeds have what is needed to balance our hormones. Food is medicine! Good luck with your journey ❤
so just wanted to speak on the birth control thing you're not having a period anymore on birth control. For some reason that isn't explained enough but I learned this with the egg donation process. The bleeding you're experiencing is withdrawal bleeding from the birth control. This is also why you breakthrough bleed because its not actually from your cycle it's from withdrawing from the synthetic hormones. I'd definitely look into a DO for a primary provider vs a nurse practitioner or MD because DOs specialize in holistic medicine as well. Find what you're deficient in supplement or fill those holes with whole foods where you can and loo into herbs that help with cramping/heavy flow etc.
7:10 the Philips face and body oneblade gives me the same results! Before I used to get nasty boils but electric trimmers have been a god sent for me, especially since I hate having body hair
monk pepper really helped me with mood swing and period cramps. I haven´t experienced really bad cramps, I know girls that suffer more. But sometimes I really needed to take pain killers and now I don´t. My bleeding tend to be not that strong anymore and I hardly have cramps and if I do, I can handle it without pain killers. I really recommend it!
I stopped taking my bc yesterday for the first time and the first pill i have missed because i saw a video where a guy was saying people who take it has more risk of having breast and cervical cancers so i got scared and decided to leave it! I am scared of being off of it cuz it has served me for two years now idk when ima get my period next i also used it because of severe crampa
For getting off the pill, I recommend checking out Dr. Jolene Brighten. She has a book on how to get your body back to normal after getting off the pill. She has a lot of other resources on her website about what to get tested, what's normal, hormones, nutrition etc. She's awesome and an advocate for women's health and informed consent. I've learned a lot from her and I've noticed the positive changes in my body.
i was on birth control for 2 reasons: cramps and ovarian cyst for about a year. The pain had been a lot worse back then, but when i stopped taking birth control everything went back to normal. Ofcourse my period still hurts but its not that bad, also the flow is more on the normal side.
Perfect timing! I'm about to start this week. So ✨️fun✨️ lol Thank you for your tips ❤ Also, birth control has been my saving grace! Not only does it help me bleed, (I have PCOS, so I basically have zero periods, and when that happens, I have A LOT of pain from the lack of a menstrual cycle) but it makes me feel WAY more stable when it comes to my hormones. At first, my cramps were HORRIBLE on the birthcontrol I'm on, but once I was using it for about 2 months, my cramps are almost nonexistent. I'm so grateful birthcontrol exists! Lol
When I was pregnant my sense of smell was heighten so all my toiletries had to be fragrance free. What I noticed after using fragrance free for a couple of months I stopped having smelly sweat.
I used to get really bad cramps too (to the point I couldn’t go to class) and also started birth control to help. I stopped taking it a few years ago and started to struggle with my cramps again and have found that using flex disk has really helped along with making sure I exercise everyday. It is super helpful! That and I prayed and asked for help with the pain ❤
Take a bath or shower use Motrin dual action 4 cramps-swelling Make sure when you take the medicine that you drink it with lukewarm water so that the medicine works faster Don't shave hair off ur 😺 wax it, use FDs spray outside of your panties while ur wearing a pad Make sure that u spray it at least 8 in away from the panty so it's not directly on the panties, change ur tampon & pad every 3 hours depending on how heavy ur flow is. I recommend that u buy light, regular & super tampons and heavy flow pads All at the same time. Also like she said use clean ingredient pads is good 2 use clean tampons too I like this tampon brand called organyc. But in general u can only wear tampons for the first 3 days of ur cycle ur body will reject the tampons on the 3rd day. I like 2 drink bottled water that is almost frozen or a little of fruit juice like cranberry juice, mango juice 🥭 with no added sugar with extra ice. ur period makes you really tired so get plenty of rest like she said.
gurlll, i FEEL you!! i got my first period after i *JUST* turned 10, and i still remember the multiple times that i had almost fainted in class (at the time i had really bad eating habits, i’m talking eating a meal a day) and even eating normally, i would be calling my mom to pick me up from school, breaking down as she drove me home it hurt so bad. society *seriously* needs to *actually* take a step up to learn how women do NOT have it easy. pressure to shave from head to toe, wear dresses, have long glowy hair, pristine skin, long eyelashes, a big butt- but not too big, then your asking for it. big 🍒, but if they’re too big you’re still asking for it. and heaven forbid you have a normal belly, or extra skin on your arms, or even thighs that touch.
It’s necessary to have a handheld toilet water bidet to clean yourself on your period , they sell it in Amazon And you can attach it easily to your toilet
Thanks for the tips! I prefer period panties. I have bad cramps. Use to take birth control pills and stopped it completely did not like the side effects. I used the nuvaring stopped it too... did not like it either. During my cycle i love dri nking ginger tea.
I also have really really bad cramps, I vomit a lot and don't eat for 2-3days so I was prescribed birth control. It was the only thing that has worked for my cramps, however I have decided to get off of it after a few months of taking it because it’s not good in the long term. Now, I start taking ibuprofen a few days before my period and when my period starts I took 2 ibuprofen every six hours, it helps but it doesnt get rid of the cramps.
HI! Im you new subscriber :) I love how honest and relatable you are. Also, you're really funny. I just wanted to know could you show us how to use a peri bottle. That a new thing to me and I just want to make sure I'm using it right.
Shower daily? Girl, on the first or second day of my period, I was almost taken to the emergency room. How can I shower when I am about to die from pain? But thanks I'll try to do some of your tips on my next period Hope it'll help❤
Ty for this ❤❤ I recently started birth control after having long and rlly sparse periods n was rlly anti birth control, hope I can get off of it at some point as well
Girl I recommend you not to drink coffee or caffeine during your period Don't drink caffeine, it makes you vomit, I recommend you cinnamon tea , I used to have really bad cramps, and midol pills 🩵by the way thanks for the tips🩵
I'm 33 my symptoms got even worse cramps got even worse back pain lower abdomen sweats hot flashes and chills pee a lot restless legs arms nausea pale fever low blood sugar smell smoke not there in due any day so didn't think shit could get worse I was 11 when I got mine and it was bad then so cry in pain. Upset tummy I bath or shower twice a day lol
One thing I have is a period basket. It's a red wicker basket where I keep chocolate and treats and I'm only allowed to take from it if I'm actively bleeding. It's one way to limit intake of food that's not great for you without cutting it out completely and I actually look forward to my period when I have something I really want in there. It changed the relationship I have with my period because I have something to look forward to.
This video is AMAZINGLY AWESOME. There are so many that can use your tips. I also have tons to share with you, because I used to not be able to go outside for my first day because of the pain annnnd I was severely nauseous it was awful, every single month. A heating pad or hot water bottle is your best friend on your back and stomach 🚫Don’t drink cold things and don’t walk barefoot during the first days, the cold makes the cramps so much worse 🍫A phlebotomist/lab tech told me to eat a piece of chocolate because it will help thin out your blood during that time( I was nauseous and didn’t really like chocolate, but a Twix and Reese’s peanut butter cups 💗💗 ) Advil used to help a lot. Take them BEFORE the cramps get crazy. Lately, I only need 1 of the Tylenol Extra Strength caplets 500mg 💥You have to force yourself to eat something hearty or even some bread or the meds won’t work. 🌟 Catching the cramps once you begin to feel them reduces the nausea tremendously ****If a tampon is too large in size or also when it is full, your cramps will get worse. I suggest no bigger than regular size &wear pantiliners or a thin pad with wings for protection against leaks ***reduce the size of your tampons as your flow decreases & ****Do NOT leave them in too long ✨✨Please, consider a container to store your pads and tampons, sometimes the moisture in the bathroom isn’t the best for them to just sit. Or maybe put them in the linen closet. **Try The HoneyPot pads they’re organic. There are regular and herbal. Pads with the cotton feel like Carefree keep you feeling better than other types… ***Thin Overnight with wings are great at anytime 💞You gave sooo much, I had to share. We all need these uncomfortable conversations to become comfortable. I hope that some or all of the above can help create a better experience during an uncomfortable few days 💞

Do you have a recommendation on a brand of soap that you like
Yes, please advise
What sulfur soap do you recommend ?
Palmer's Anti Acne soap' has sulfur. I have only used this on my face, neck, and chest. No reaction to it. Maybe you could try it.
I switched to period panties and reusable discs and that has been a game changer!
LOVE using the period panties. They really absorb everything and you can sleep comfortably without worrying about spillage.
I was also gonna suggest a period cup!
Watching this while battling with my First-day cramps! 😭
Try a DIM Estrogen Support supplement for bad cramps. I don’t have any cramps or period symptoms when taking it. Look it up.
Amen
Bruh the first day is always the worst its like a war frl
I just took a nice hot shower, got my heating pad, and snuggled up in bed. What perfect timing!
I switched from pads and tampons to a cup and honey pot co mint liners and it has caused my flow to lighten and has helped with all the symptoms
You are the only person I have heard advise people to wash with water, bidet or peri bottle. Thank you for being that real. Being fresh means washing when you go to the Bathroom. It helps you reduce odour, keeps underwear clean & also prevents UTIs. You don't even need any fancy feminine washes. It smells just fine ❤
Raspberry tea helps with cramps, mood swings etc…..

Thanks for the tips! I prefer period panties. I have bad cramps. Use to take birth control pills and stopped it completely did not like the side effects. I used the nuvaring stopped it too... did not like it either. During my cycle i love dri nking ginger tea.

I JUST GOT MINE TODAY TYSM FOR THIS
Watching this on my period 😃
Yeah . Perfect timing 😮😮
But thanks I'll try to do some of your tips on my next period
Hope it'll help❤
Yes, you should shower daily/ once a day! Even if you're not on your period. It's concerning that y'all don't know this.
@@daniharr3278she’s not saying she didn’t know that she’s saying that the pain is so damn INTENSE that it’s almost impossible to

Had the doctor bring up endometriosis? I don’t think regular testing would confirm. I believe it might be only through surgery.
Thank you so much! I needed this video. 🙌 ❤
Perfect timing for me 😅
I'm 33 my symptoms got even worse cramps got even worse back pain lower abdomen sweats hot flashes and chills pee a lot restless legs arms nausea pale fever low blood sugar smell smoke not there in due any day so didn't think shit could get worse I was 11 when I got mine and it was bad then so cry in pain. Upset tummy I bath or shower twice a day lol
No really I just got my cycle about an hour before she posted 😢
Hardest thing is to even try not to smell like period.
My symptoms be like
burning up from inside ( literally)
extreme cramps
diarrhea
The sweats
The nausea and throwing up.
Good gravy 😫😫💀😭
Thanks a lot konji ❤
This video is AMAZINGLY AWESOME. There are so many that can use your tips. I also have tons to share with you, because I used to not be able to go outside for my first day because of the pain annnnd I was severely nauseous it was awful, every single month.
A heating pad or hot water bottle is your best friend on your back and stomach
🚫Don’t drink cold things and don’t walk barefoot during the first days, the cold makes the cramps so much worse
🍫A phlebotomist/lab tech told me to eat a piece of chocolate because it will help thin out your blood during that time( I was nauseous and didn’t really like chocolate, but a Twix and Reese’s peanut butter cups 💗💗 )
Advil used to help a lot. Take them BEFORE the cramps get crazy.
Lately, I only need 1 of the Tylenol Extra Strength caplets 500mg
💥You have to force yourself to eat something hearty or even some bread or the meds won’t work.
🌟 Catching the cramps once you begin to feel them reduces the nausea tremendously
****If a tampon is too large in size or also when it is full, your cramps will get worse.
I suggest no bigger than regular size &wear pantiliners or a thin pad with wings for protection against leaks
***reduce the size of your tampons as your flow decreases &
****Do NOT leave them in too long
✨✨Please, consider a container to store your pads and tampons, sometimes the moisture in the bathroom isn’t the best for them to just sit. Or maybe put them in the linen closet.
**Try The HoneyPot pads they’re organic.
There are regular and herbal.
Pads with the cotton feel like Carefree keep you feeling better than other types…
***Thin Overnight with wings are great at anytime
💞You gave sooo much, I had to share. We all need these uncomfortable conversations to become comfortable.
I hope that some or all of the above can help create a better experience during an uncomfortable few days
💞
Thanks girl 🫶🏼
