What do you think of this was a super fun experiment! And it worked! I have lots of other ideas now! Make sure to check out my *Swipe Technique Masterclass* www.smartartcourses.com/swipe-technique
I really loved this idea and result because it opens up a world of endless possibilities in base colors! I'm thinking the darker base colors really accent a more minimal wreck, whereas the lighter base would accent a heavier wreck, what do you think? Maybe that might be too much on a 2-color split base..hmm🤔, idk, you really have my wheels turning, Molly!!🤪 but I really am excited about this discovery! TY!
Love this technique. I think I want to try this using dark brown background with fall colors (red, orange, yellow, gold and bronze), because this looks so much like falling leaves. It’s fun watching you experiment then trying for myself. Thank you
Wow! Great combo, Molly! I love seeing the pearls on different colors! What a great idea the split base was, also! Beautiful results! Thanks for sharing! :) Nikki
This definitely opens up a lot of possibilities using colored backgrounds with the pearls ! Thanks for experimenting Molly ! I think they came out great ! 🩵
😮❤ Wow Molly, it's gorgeous!! 🤩 and for me it is kind of like leaves falling at night and day. So cool to know that it works on multiple colors!! Luv ya Molly! 😊❤❤
Molly, this is piece has beautiful pastel colors! I love this experiment! As I was watching I was interested to see if the pearl yellow was going to turn brown on the purple background!
Very interesting! I feel the peacefulness of it. As if the flowers of summer know their time to shine is over and it is time to rest. Stunning, looking forward to see the next experiment, as you call it....but to me it is you expressing your creativity and your insight of how you see the world and it's beauty.
Nothing beats a black base....where the colors intermingle against infinity. Every color looks fantastic, elegant, wondrous against a black base. Keep up the expermints...that's how you grow. 😊 Black base with gold, crimson red with a tad of white...a wonder to behold. Then use same colors with purple instead of red..Royalty.. WOW
The timing of this video is amazing. Last night, I decided to throw the Pearl Blue into the mix for a pour I'm doing shortly. I debated it for a while because I wasn't sure it would hold its on a not-black base. Thanks, Molly!! 😄
Omg I like the pearl paints so much more now!!!!! In some paintings I loved how bold they are on black but on some it just felt like they were screaming and your eye had no where to rest. However this is the exact opposite! The softness of the colors are just lovely and when the lights hit the color pops so you still get that wow! I love it! Thank you for being so willing to just experiment some of the ideas of others. It’s such a cool way for your audience to be included and share in your experience even deeper. That deep happy painting made me and my kids laugh so hard and now they are running around and in their deepest voices playing hello good bye 😂
Super pretty Molly!! I've done them on a blue base & one on the Amsterdam perm blue violet & they turned out so pretty!! Love the background colors you chose! A beautiful painting! 🥰🤗
On the darker blueish grey side it totally giving off autumn leafs falling ❤ super cool experiment! I think it would be super cool to see if you tried a base that was a burgundy or red/ magenta and a bit of that blueish grey colour but blown out with a hair dryer first then add your pearl puddles and swipe them with a really dark brown. Not sure if it would work out but I would be very curious to see it :) ❤❤
Very cool!! My husband suggested that you put small black paint dots under the pearl paint dots for a variation. We love you! (And that special BYYYYYYYYYE)
Hi Molly, I'm so glad you tried this. It looks good though! Maybe you can ring pour or dirty cup on a colored background to see how it looks? With a marble? Hahaha 😂. I bet it would be awesome.
My Pearl colours barely showed up until I started watching you use them. I still think I need to add more paint to PM because of how they look dry but they are way better. Thank you Molly.❤
I love this! I wonder what it would look like if you puddled both regular paints and some of the pearl colors onto a colored base. That might make for some interesting contrast.
I Loved it! I think a slightly more deeper aqua color would have really shown the colors on the one side. I love how soft the painting turned out . Nice tutorial , thank you for sharing
Wow, thanks! Have all the pearls paints but not really used them yet. Now I know that I don't need to limit myself to a dark background, which I thought based on what everybody's been saying so far. Always nice when somebody else can do the experimenting for you ;)

How do you mix the pearl paints?

I've been using the pearl paints with Amsterdam prussian blue, Winsor and Newton Hooker's green and paynes gray. Always good results!
Gorgeous!!. Great experiment. I like the stick wreak instead of the hair scratcher.
This piece is so pretty. I really love how it dried.
only 3 minutes in, but you have 2 of my favorite colors! Perriwinkly and Teal Mint! I love it already!
That is so cool, Molly. Thank you. ❤
Molly, this is piece has beautiful pastel colors! I love this experiment! As I was watching I was interested to see if the pearl yellow was going to turn brown on the purple background!

So beautiful ! Like autumn leaf❤
Gorgeous! I'd love to see you try some pearl colors in one of your wave paintings!
It looks like spring and Autumn. The colors are so unique. Great job, it's like painting with a blindfold, but you got it to work 😊❤
I absolutely love this piece!!! ❤ the contrast is immaculate. What a fun pop of shimmer
Super cool. Love it Molly

Very soft and pretty!

Beautiful, it reminds me of a tulip field.
As usual!! Bravo🎉🎉🎉🎉👍👍👍👍
Nice .Molly. love the experiment.
Ohh I love this, it looks so soft, almost lik feathers, I prefer the turquoise-green background. This would make a great fabric print.
I love your expressions. Great success!😺
Cool colours - I think I like the paler background better than the black ❤
Very pretty! The wrecking pattern reminds me of falling leaves.
My Pearl colours barely showed up until I started watching you use them. I still think I need to add more paint to PM because of how they look dry but they are way better. Thank you Molly.❤

I like the entire piece, but I love the side with the blue background.
Pretty. Though I much prefer the dark blue side. I think a canvas with just that colour base would be amazing 😁

I think I will try it with a white background just for fun 😊
