I just discovered a new found love for Pokemon and just discovered your channel. I really want to start building out a sealed product collection. So my questions are what would be the best products to grab right now with $200? Thank you!
I remember when evolving skies first came out the rayquaza was the chase card and still think that art work is better than moonbreon but the glaceon art work is by far my favorite idk why that card isn’t talked about more, it’s got pikachu on it too lol
Can you go over how you do sales and shipping on eBay? Do you use eBay labels at all prices? At what price do you use a USPS tracking number? How many cards in one envelope needs to be a package?
Umbreon V is a hold for sure. I'm glad my son is a collector or I would have sold it at $175. Giratina V is a card we need to grab. I do think the heavy hitters from Sword & Shield are all moving up too fast due to FOMO. I think they will come down but not as low as they were. Better to wait til the hype dies a little. I think Lost Origin will be #2 and Fusion Strike #3. I Definitely feel Evolving Skies booster boxes will hit $2000 before Moonbreon does Thanks for the Content as always
I have a monthly income of $100 dedicated to my collection. Which item would you personally choose? Buying a Pokemon Center ETB of a Booster Box that is now sold out / greater than $150, buying raw singles that are affordable, buying PSA 10 slabs, or saving for a top chase?
What if you had 36 boosters packs of evolving skies that you got from tins and collection boxes would you rip, sell, hold or trade them? I was offered a Gengar vmax alt for them.
Hello! What common cards are worth buying now and selling later when the price goes up? There are a few item cards that are worth $1+ right now because of the playability.
Playable cards would be tough because eventually they become unplayable in tournaments. Common cards are really tough to pick. Here are two I’ve got some copies of. The common Eevee from Evolving Skies. It has a Rayquaza in the background and is a really nice art work. Two popular Pokemon on the same card. Another recommendation is the peelable ditto cards from Pokemon go. There are three of them in this set. Grab a few of each. Don’t peel them!!! We’ve never seen a card like this. There are going to be less and less of them because no one can keep from peeling them.
If it’s a top card in a set there is a good chance price will rise in the future. These cards we see rising now are all top 5. Except ES because that set is so deep. Don’t get cute and buy copies of cards no one wants but that you like. They have to popular characters and cards
If you had a 100% master set of an XY/SM era set, would you split it and sell the top hitters and then the rest as bulk, or would you keep complete and try to find the right buyer? Asking because I am currently debating this with my Cosmic Eclipse set. Love your videos! ❤
how would you go about shipping when starting to sell off some stuff to build that trust and reputation? do you use pirate ship for labels and mail? I'm curious because I'm going to start looking to sell small bits of my collection off
For eBay. If a person had good pictures, an eBay pfp, and a lot of good buyer (not selling) reviews. Do you think that would make up for having 0 previous sales?
what if I damage the thin plastic that covers my etb? Do you think i'll be able to sell it for the same price? Should I just open it? How would you proceed?
You have to remember when it comes to what’s going on. 10 million new people came in on SWSH. It’s a golden era, way more than came in on any other era. There are 11k Umbreon VMAX PSA 10’s so 0.01% of people in the hobby have it. The majority of the hobby now are SWSH nostalgic not vintage nostalgic. Demand makes the market.

I don't like this argument that 10 million people want this card and there's only 11k. You can tell by the views on the biggest channels there's probably only a couple million left and I would assume half wouldn't care if they had it or not or only want it because its hyped and expensive. Don't forget all the other psa grades. cgc, beckett, the 10 other grading companies, the tens of thousands of raw ones that people don't care about grading. Chinese, Korean, Japanese. And wait till we get a new umbreon card or something else that's insane. People will lose interest. Also what do those 10 million people do when they get done with S&S?? Well a lot of them are going to get into it more and there gonna want the first umbreon card ever made and get into vintage and stuff like that. Sorry for the rant lol but that's my 2 cents. We have seen it so many times before when stuff gets super hyped it almost always crashes.

As far as grading goes what is worth grading?. I have complete shadowless base, fossil and jungle that have been in a binder forever..should i grade all the holos?
Quick question. How do you decide what to sell. I have been collecting for a while now and trying to decide what to keep as a collection and what to sell.
I need the Magikarp from Paldea Evolved in a PSA10 for my collection. I have it in a 9.5 BGS ( pulled and graded myself). Do I sell that now and buy PSA 10 when/if price drops,, do I crack and cross over or do I hold the BGS and buy PSA anyway?
Hey Beard, great vid as always! Couple comments: 1. Gotta be careful with psa grade labels--they're not clear and can confuse: that venusaur was an authentic with a 10 auto. 2. Personally, I think the big S&S alts still have room to grow, moreso than the vintage grails, in the short term. So personally, I'd put my money there from an investment standpoint. Collector-wise, I would definitely pick up those vintage bangers now! Also, I think Giratina will continue to rise strong in the next few weeks. Question: if you were to pick up 10 copies of a mid-tier card with good short to mid term growth potential, what card(s) would you target and... why? Cheers
Yea I put that in the comments that I thought I saw 2 tens. Yea I definitely feel like they can grow still it's just how long can that last. I can honestly see if we get something new and crazy and the hype dies down I feel like umbreon could drop back down to a 500 raw card and a $1,000 psa 10. Exactly like basically every psa10 masterball for japan just did. Even every S&S alt art dam near dropped in price by half at the beginning of S&V. So for a quick flip I feel like umbreon is a great choice but I feel like long term people might get burnt. It's literally the most hyped card in pokemon. Hype almost never lasts. I just can't recommend paying top dollar for the most hyped up card in the word and say it's a good investment. I can recommend paying that much for a vintage grail with a low pop and not hyped up at all right now.
@@PokeBeardTCG it all depends on what comes along next. Will it be enough to shift hype? Enough to take a considerable piece of the investor's wallet? Only time will tell. Moonbreon is beyond hype at this point-- it's obsession. I've never seen such fascination for one card. It may be the exception to the rule. It may slow but I think it'll continue to climb and break the 2k mark soon for a psa10. Giratina V is a beaut that I think is still undervalued. The magikarp from P.E. is exploding because of the art. It's Tina's lil brother and will push it even higher. S&V era has beautiful art and is solid overall but there aren't any massive fan favorite pokes to drive big prices and that's the difference. People are beginning to realize that S&S had some real bangers that were tough to pull, hence the recent run. Exciting times ahead! Given the liquidity of everything Umbreon, I would not hold off. If you've got a bundle to invest, I honestly don't think you can lose. We'll see what happens. Exciting times ahead!
@@francoisproulx4197 I think people are crazy to think we won't have anything equal to evolving skies in the last half. If you compare S&V to S&S we would be at chilling reign so far and we already have paldea evolved, paradox rift, paldean fates, and 151. People hated chilling reign when it came out. They called it chilling pain and evolving cries. I really think we will get a set that beats evolving skies and moonbreon will drop.
@@PokeBeardTCG I hope you're right... for the hobby's sake! Unaffordable cards is not fun for the collector but they cant be dirt cheap either. Gotta strike a balance. Fingers crossed for some strong sets in the second half (after TM lol).
Honestly the gold star dogs there was a scandle years ago where someone had binders with hundreds if not thousands of each gold star dog. So that’s why they are priced lower and seem “undervalued”
And we all had 2 years to sell during the boom where vintage was literally gold. I'm guessing like me, you didn't sell lol. I do think vintage will have it's day again. I'd probably hold.
What would you do if there was a card that's LP and over $150 less than near mint, would you buy the lightly played or save for the NM copy (Gengar VMax Alt)
Also for falling Friday you might want to look at 151 prices. Another big wave of booster bundles are back in stock at Walmart for 28.98 sold by Walmart.
Hey PokeBeard, great video again. My question is for a larger budget. I am auctioning off some stable vintage grail cards to reinvest in sealed modern. What if i have $5,000 to spend on under msrp modern sets. Should I go crown zenith and 151 (tins, etbs, booster bundles) or try for cases of scarlet and violet main set booster boxes?
@@PokeBeardTCG you think so? I have both and love Umbreon. The v is my least fav Umbreon card. I like the concept but it’s just boring next to all the other Umbreon cards. love ur content man!
@tinsellywalnut468 I just feel like it captures umbreons' attitude the best. Just chilling at night and all these other pokemon looking up to him, looking like there about to get into some trouble.
@@PokeBeardTCG I agree it paints a good picture of Umbreons dominion. The framing and the moon is spot on. Just wish it popped more. Hondas are nice and all but not next to a Lambo
@tinsellywalnut468 I feel like a lambo is a solid example of moonbreon. Over priced and way too many out there 😂😂. Now, 1st ed vintage is like a Bugatti, lol. I'm just joking around. I do like moonbreon.
How well do you think the Pokemon Center ETBs from the Scarlet and Violet Era sets will do in the future? Would you think this would be a year investment or a 5+ year investment given that the promos are new to them?
A watch out here is 151 print quality is really bad. A well centered card can come back an 8 because of bad print quality that is really hard to see when pregrading
Thank you so much for the advice to my question in this video, really appreciate it!:D It also made me think of another question. Just curious when setting up an account to sell on eBay , how do you generally go about pricing your items when you do have to include packaging, shipping, or any other costs? Love to hear any advice you have on this topic:)
if you're an investor, you dont buy singles or slabs, you buy sealed products.. singles or slabs are for collector who is willing to spend a fortune for their collection.. sealed products always appreciate over time and never goes down.. while singles or slabs are always at risk of staying flat and going down in value..
Investors can invest in anything they want lol. I've made more money from singles and slabs then sealed products so far. Definitely riskier and you cant just sit on it forever but I don't mind taking the risk because I'm an actual collector and love cards
@@PokeBeardTCG Im referring to a specific situation, lets say if you have $1500, would you spend it solely on psa 10 moonbreon or 2 ES BBs and 1 other SWSH BB? Which in the long run would be a better investment? If you're an investor, for sure you want less risk and more profit.
@Bodonism for sure the boxes. I did this exact scenario in this video. Evolving skies booster box or raw umbreon. I chose booster. I also buy cards at the bottom for investments. If I bought the moonbreon right now, that's a collection buy.
You probably already know this, but the main reason Legendary dog gold stars are so cheap is that some dude in Europe was known to somehow have a stack of a few thousand of each of them in mint condition. It was seen in the Pokemon community as a similar situation to the stolen Fusion Strike Alt Arts recently where the guy tried to sell 1,000+ alt arts to a shop that everyone heard about. Some guy in Europe likely stole a few thousand legendary dog gold stars back in the mid 2000s as well, and that's kept the market suppressed. It's still unknown how many of them he has remaining, but he consistently oversaturated the market on them from around 2009-2021 at a minimum.
Yea i don't think it matters to much when talking in a psa10 since there is only like 200. And look at the price of the gengar. If it's popular enough people don't care lol. I also think it was more like hundreds of each, not thousands, from what I can remember but not 100% sure.
Whats some best $10 or under singles to pick up do you think. Also seperate question what do you think are the best full art trainer cards, just in terms of looks price don't matter. Love the videos keep up the good work.
I like collecting sealed 3 pack blisters with a well known favorite promo Pokémon. The Eeveelutions promos for example in the blisters. Pick up one for each subset. And honestly the evolving skies 3 pack blister with the Umbreon promo is going up in value.
I've tried. Doesn't really work. Otherwise people could just order stuff and it says delivered and they just keep it and call the bank and say it wasn't delivered
@MrMasterSet It's only when I argue, lol. Like when opossum kept asking people what everybody's video is about and was just trying to get people to say money. I wanted to be like, how do you get pokemon cards?? MONEY!
Pop doesn’t matter. Nobody cares about those ancient boring looking cards. Could be 50k umbreons in a psa 10, doesn’t mean the DEMAND for the card is lower.
Pop doesnt matter to new people who dont know much and who are buying into the hype. Pop has always mattered in pokemon. Nobody cares about these ancient cards but yet they're selling for thousands and are literally the cheapest versions of those cards? I'm guessing you also don't have a clue what these vintage cards that nobody wants were selling for during the boom?
Like you do know the dogs are the cheapest gold stars?? And celebi is one of the cheapest shinings? And it wasn't even a 1st edition venusaur lol. Pretty crazy how they're just as expensive as the most popular card in the world if nobody wants them. I
So the reason vintage is undervalued is because nobody cares anymore. It's all about all darts have evolving skies.Maybe some tag teams and advantage just isn't.As desirable as it used to be it's out with the old and with the new
You can't say no one cares about it anymore when I literally show the cheapest versions of those cards and there all over $1,000 with multiple recent sales. The only people saying this is new people.

Do you think the etb for lost origin and fusion strike will be a good investment for the future
I do
A far second from BB. Unfortunately. One day someone will explain this to me in a logical way. Until then it is what it is. Mr Market decides
My man! I appreciate you covering my question in detail.
For sure! I hope I helped a little bit
@@PokeBeardTCG sure did! I love the card (Umbreon V) one more question, would YOU trade the Umb. V for the alt art Lugia V?
As a collector. Do you prefer slabs or raw copies?
Raw. I like to feel the texture and I can always grade down the road if I want to sell for more
What’s up dude met ya in poppin packs livestream. Good to be here. Can’t wait to catch up on content
I appreciate that brother!
@@francoisproulx4197 I think we might get one more set based off the dlc after twilight, then it will go crazy.
Honestly the gold star dogs there was a scandle years ago where someone had binders with hundreds if not thousands of each gold star dog. So that’s why they are priced lower and seem “undervalued”
I know I remember. Still only 200 in a psa10 though.
How long do you think it takes for a set 2 become vintage? (eg. XY or Sun&Moon)
Technically it's 20 years but I'd say for pokemon it's probably 10 years.
@@PokeBeardTCG so XY would be vintage being 2014?
As a fighting pokemon fan, do you think the Astral Radiance Machamp is being slept on?
Maybe a tiny bit
There are better options out there
We've held onto vintage for 20+years. Shall we pull the trigger to sell now (graded version) or keep holding for another 5-10 years?
And we all had 2 years to sell during the boom where vintage was literally gold. I'm guessing like me, you didn't sell lol. I do think vintage will have it's day again. I'd probably hold.
What would you do if there was a card that's LP and over $150 less than near mint, would you buy the lightly played or save for the NM copy (Gengar VMax Alt)
Great question! I'll use this in next week's video
@@PokeBeardTCG appreciate you big bro. Love the new series :)
What are the best products to invest in when specialty sets don't have booster boxes? ETB? Booster Bundles? UPC? Mini Tins?
Also for falling Friday you might want to look at 151 prices. Another big wave of booster bundles are back in stock at Walmart for 28.98 sold by Walmart.
Great question I might use this and thanks for letting me know
ETBs and UPCs
Hey PokeBeard, great video again. My question is for a larger budget. I am auctioning off some stable vintage grail cards to reinvest in sealed modern.
What if i have $5,000 to spend on under msrp modern sets. Should I go crown zenith and 151 (tins, etbs, booster bundles) or try for cases of scarlet and violet main set booster boxes?
Great question. I'll most likely use this in next week's video
@PokeBeardTCG Awesome, looking forward to your thoughts!
IMO the Umbreon v is a Honda and the V max is a Lambo. Just based on the art.
The vmax is better "art" but the v looks cooler imo
Does Punch-Out-Gaming mail items? There is no local card store near me.
You can order from their site. They don't have nearly as much as they do in store though
@@PokeBeardTCG Thank you.
What if there isn't an Evo Skies of SV era, what is the most investable set? You can do a ranking, and include non main sets.
I got you
How well do you think the Pokemon Center ETBs from the Scarlet and Violet Era sets will do in the future? Would you think this would be a year investment or a 5+ year investment given that the promos are new to them?
Great question. This will be in next week's video
@PokeBeardTCG do you have any thoughts on when you'd buy 151 raws and 10's. Just picked up a Charizard alt art and wanted to get some more
Great question, I'll try to get to this next week
A watch out here is 151 print quality is really bad. A well centered card can come back an 8 because of bad print quality that is really hard to see when pregrading
Nice vid man! Whats your thoughts on the Giratina VSTAR GG, do you think that there is potential in that card?
Great question! I'll try to get to this next week
Yes!! It’s already moving up. All those gold cards will be in high demand from CZ
Another great question. I'll probably use this one also
I was just thinking about the cards you can buy at the price of the cost of a moonbreon. Its quite insane.
It's mind blowing
What if blue/green backs, cardass, and Bandai sticker cards from the 90s got popular? Which would rise the most in value?
Great question! This might be used in next week's video
if you're an investor, you dont buy singles or slabs, you buy sealed products.. singles or slabs are for collector who is willing to spend a fortune for their collection.. sealed products always appreciate over time and never goes down.. while singles or slabs are always at risk of staying flat and going down in value..
L take
@Bodonism for sure the boxes. I did this exact scenario in this video. Evolving skies booster box or raw umbreon. I chose booster. I also buy cards at the bottom for investments. If I bought the moonbreon right now, that's a collection buy.
If you invest in popular chase in psa 10 slab you won’t lose my guy believe me
What if Pokemon changed borders again to all green borders
😂😂😂😂 but why?
Good morning Pokébeard! Sad you didn't include my question for this week, maybe it will be around for next week 👀
I will. Drop it in the comments again. I had to cut the video short cuz my baby woke up lol
Good to watch intelligent beard
Thank you lol
Whats some best $10 or under singles to pick up do you think. Also seperate question what do you think are the best full art trainer cards, just in terms of looks price don't matter. Love the videos keep up the good work.
Great question, this might be in next week's video
What if your budget was only 100 dollars? What $5-$10 cards and possibly a tin/box would you purchase that will have growth??
I would buy alt arts from sword and shield for single raw cards. I wouldn't even mess with tins unless you get a huge amount of them
I’d get some collectible cards you like then personally I like the booster bundles better than the tins to keep sealed but up to you!
Fusion strike pc etb + a 3 pack blister of brilliant stars glaceon
I like collecting sealed 3 pack blisters with a well known favorite promo Pokémon. The Eeveelutions promos for example in the blisters. Pick up one for each subset. And honestly the evolving skies 3 pack blister with the Umbreon promo is going up in value.
Pick up some fusion strike alt arts like mew v celebi v they are 30-60 bucks but have so much potential
If your package is not in the mail, even though it says delivered. Call up your bank and they will help you get it resolved. 👍🏽
I've tried. Doesn't really work. Otherwise people could just order stuff and it says delivered and they just keep it and call the bank and say it wasn't delivered
Missed you in the okJLUV discussion... diggin the QnA sessions, despite your self-acclaimed #I_am_not_your_guru status, haha.
Yea I thought about joining. I argue like opposum bud lol. I'm guessing he's going to have another to milk this as much as he can
@@PokeBeardTCG Truth! And oh dear... not sure the world is prepared for Opposum Bud x2, haha
@MrMasterSet It's only when I argue, lol. Like when opossum kept asking people what everybody's video is about and was just trying to get people to say money. I wanted to be like, how do you get pokemon cards?? MONEY!
@@PokeBeardTCG 🤑I think we need a PokeBeard vs. Opossum Bud debate!
@MrMasterSet that would be intense lol.
thanks for the content. great insight
Thanks for watching
Keep in mind that with AUTOs the autograph is what is being graded. I wouldn’t compare a psa 10 auto to a psa 10
I know. I thought I saw 2 10s. I also mentioned this in the comments
I picked up a ex legend maker blister pack bro my locals hooked me up 🎉🎉🎉
Beautiful!
@@PokeBeardTCG now I’m just waiting for my acrylic case to show up and I hope it fits 🤞 but my friend you are definitely right about making good relationships at your locals if you have one, the deals made in that place outta pure love in collecting is beautiful. He didn’t even have those on display they were hidden in the back with some grails that he was nice enough to even show me let alone pick one up. 🙏🙏🙏

Too busy? I could see how people dont like it
@@PokeBeardTCG yeah a little too busy for my liking
@codya5696 totally understandable
Definitely agree. But I do like the magikarp from the same artist.
Ok. You are crazy
I'm sorry but the argument that Umbreon V Alt is better than Vmax just doesn't hold for me.
Its my opinion though? Art is subjective. I'm sorry, I don't like my umbreon playing like a dumb cat. I want my umbreon running the streets like a g
Hey
What's up
the art on the modern doesnt compare to the old vintage! The art today on pokemon is just sureal, such amazing pieces, in my opinion vintage cards are just boring, just my opinion.

what if i have 36 pack lots of ES? I have 2 listed for 550 but the packs are still sealed in tins, i see loose packs going lower and i know its because they are loose. Do I take the loss pull the packs from the tins and offer lower or just let them sit? @pokebeard
