- I have wanted to send a back freewheel on a larger drop for a while now, simply because I have always felt confident in being able to throw the back freewheel but then still be in control enough to set the boat back to vertical and have a good line. I wasn't sure which was going to be the first drop I would attempt it on. Then when it was looking like Sahalie was going to be coming into a good window to run it, I started thinking and realized that it might be the perfect drop for it. After almost a week of visualizing, finally got to rally up with a crew, and it was an absolutely epic day!

Nice to see you in the area. If you are hunting for water out west it looked like ID had a decent snow pack. Flew back from NC 2 days ago and stuff must be running from the looks of it from 30k ft.. Although not as hard as we are used to from D Jackson, a couple days running the tribs and the S Fork Salmon overnighter are really fun, nice scenery and great camping....or maybe he did that when he was like 12? Pretty sure the over nighter has been done in a long day, but the river camping is worth a stop.
I’m headed up to ID for the NFC soon! Stoked to get back up there, love it there. Unfortunately the snowpack was looking fairly good for a while this spring but at the moment it’s down to like 30% so not going to be the highest water. That being said there is always sick stuff to paddle!

Impressive skills, focus, and performance under pressure for sure! At the same time, I have to say I am very disappointed at the lack of respect for a very special place!
