Hi!!...perfume, in general, is getting sooooo expensive. I know, everything is, but honestly....I agree with you about Tom Ford. If I'm going to spend that much it has to be a "full on Love" too!
Tom Ford went from $345 for a 100ml, to now $450. Now I’m kicking myself, because my nose was new in the perfume world. Specifically niche, I sold my soleil blanc after I purchased it from the Sephora vib rouge sale for $200 something. Now I want it back, I need a major discount, cause I refuse to pay probably $375 or more for it after the Sephora discount. Now I let my fragrances sit down and macerate for a bit, revisit the scent, let my nose explore before I let one for good.

Naxos has been reformulated about 2 years ago and I have tested both. The older formula has more jasmine so it leans slight more feminine and the new formula has more lavender which makes it more masculine.

Amethyst Haze is in my top 5 for life. The smoothest blend that develops with time, can be worn year round and always gives something different. It’s delicious and soothing, long lasting and has beat a lot of my own niche fragrances for the #5 slot

I love Babycat. The pepper is strong right up against my nose, but the scent bubble in the air is beautiful. I just don’t smell it up close, but the scent wafting around me is amazing.

Great video! I didn’t love Babycat either. I do LOVE Sandal Ruby! It is one of my favorites. My favorite new release is Guerlain’s Tobacco Honey. I rarely pay full price for a fragrance, but…………. Worth it!

It’s good! Definitely get your nose on it if you like smoky fall fragrances. It just not for me personally.

Love your in-depth reviews. I adore the scent of Escapade Gourmande but I'm so disappointed with the lack of projection. I've been conservative with the number of sprays per use. What do you do to get it to project? Will it get better over time? Any suggestions are appreciated❤️❤️

Escapade gourmand works well in the medical/hospital setting…I use 1-2 sprays and it never turns strong or stale. It’s the only bottle I’m almost done with 😢 I need a new bottle!

Totally agree about Tom Ford fragrances. Haven't fallen in love with any I have sampled. On another note😉, if you haven't tried Black Datura from Miller Harris, you MUST! I got a sample and I am head over heels in love with it. Haven't been this overtaken by a fragrance in awhile. Stunning! Enjoy your spooky movie night!

Get the Dua and Dapper versions of Escapade Gourmande for layering! I add sprays of the dupes to Everything! My signature Fall layering combo right now is Escapade Gourmande layered with Kayali VELVET Santal, then Grooms one. And its DIVINE! Its my signature smell right now!

Hello Jax. I got my Pink Boa bottle for free. It was when they first launched it, you do have to buy a certain amount….like over $300 I think….then you get the full sized Pink Boa for free. I was also surprised at how much I love it, I do layer it with Venom Incarnat at times for the ultimate berry blast. 🥰
I agree with you on Althaïr. I wish they bottled it in the exact same color and in the feminine bottles. I love this fragrance but I will also pass for now. 🥰

For the SHL frags, I am curious about Pink Boa and Lady white snake. I own and love Sand Dance (spicy dark chocolate), Venom incarnat (uber sexy strawberries) and God of fire (spicy green mango ). Those bottles are stunning!❤❤

Love the Hoogie Boogie earings! The new PDM is getting a lot of positive attention. TF, I have 2-3 dupes and a real 10ml, but there's no way I would buy a 50ml of it. They are way too expensive... Then again a lot of designer fragrances are getting up there in price (especially if you buy at full price).

Jax I had a feeling you would struggle with Baby Cat 😂. That opening is super peppery but the dry down is intoxicating. I didn't think I could handle the pepper but I just can't get over that sweet vanilla and Incense in the dry down. Escapade G is another fragrance that just got me in the dry down and now i'm obsessed 😍. Really wanna test Amethyst Haze it sounds amazing!
I am definitely going to give babycat another try in a few months. I want that magic dry down! 😆

Do you like Apple Brandy by Kilian? It’s very similar to smoking hot but without the smokiness. It still has that boozy apple cinnamon type of fragrance.

I love Sandal Ruby from CH. It's so special to me 'cause I wore this frag when I first met my boyfriend. I also love Amber Desire (sweet dates) and Gold Myhrr Absolu (delicious cacao powder). Jax, give one more chance to Sandal Ruby. You won't regret!❤

Naxos is beautiful to me as well but too masculine leaning. Golden Gai by Meleg is the unisex version to my nose. I bought that and Love it.

iI found Naxos to be too aromatic/masculine leaning on me. Then my daughter stole my sample I LOVED it on her. So now I want to get a new decant and revisit it because she used all mine up lol.

You just helped me so much. I have been wondering about these ones. I love smoky fragrances like Lune Feline. Do you think that Smoking Hot Killian is the same kind of smokey scent as Lune Feline or By the Fireplace? I love Carolina Herrera personal collection. My favorite is Iris Empire. Nightfall Patchouli and Blue Lazuli are on my shelf too. I have Burning Rose on the way.
No I wouldn’t say they are similar. There is definitely a fruity apple sweet cinnamon feel and not woody smoky just …. Smoke. It’s different and very interesting imo.
I would say it’s more close to hookah and licorice. Dry down you get more soft smoke or bon fire smell but def not cigarettes
You would like Tom Ford's "Vanille Fatale".. it's thick, rich, and intoxicating vanilla scent. ☕

Babycat reminded me of VaneXtasy but not as sweet and yes, a bit peppery. Crimson Rocks is the most peppery frgrance I've tried and cannot handle it, Lineage is too peppery too x
I liked Babycat from my sample and recently added it to my collection. Luckily I don’t get much black pepper on my skin
Hi Jackie, Escapade Gourmande was a snooze fest for me in the beginning, but like you I revisited my sample and the same thing happened. Luckily, I got my bottle for €140, wouldn't have paid €200 or more for it. I can't do Naxos, and I have really tried. Usually I like masculine leaning fragrances, but not this one. I might be the only one out there who thinks Althaïr is boring. Too sweet, nothing really happening and the cinnamon comes out way too strong for me, very cloying. I love Tom Ford. I think the dna of that house amazing. Haven't tested Myrrhe yet. I really thought you were gonna go for the Gold Myrrhe by CH!

The dryness in althair is the ambrox..
I love Naxos. You should have your husband layer it with Grand Soir, trust me 😉 If you like Naxos you may like Eight and Bob Egypt and/or Aaron Terence Hughes Boss Bastard

Have you smelled CH Saffron Lazuli? Amethyst Haze is also my favorite, followed by Saffron Lazuli, then Sandal Ruby. ♥️

Hmmm... When I tried Escapade Gourmand I thought it was kind of a snooze, just a really vanilla-y vanilla. I love vanilla but there has to be some complexity. However.... I may have to give it another go!

It ok. They’re horrible the last perfume induced migraine I suffered was from trying in Tom Ford a day or two before my birthday this year. I was in bed for a few days to a week after.
Marley Althar (sp?) was a flop on me. Unfortunately it’s coming off extremely masculine axe mens body spray.
I like the spice factor but something very synthetic is amping on This one.

Hi! You made me laugh with the vodka story. I was in high school in the 80's and one particular day, my best friend and I drank a liter of Majorska between the two of us. When I tell you I was hungover for two solid days, I am not exaggerating. I was so so sick and so was my friend. For years, I couldn't even look at vodka, even the good stuff, without gagging. I did eventually try the good stuff but the damage had been done and I just could never really drink any kind of vodka ever again. That was over 35 years ago and I can still remember how sick I was and that awful smell of Majorska. lol 🤢 So, I absolutely agree that a vodka note in a perfume is strange and I definitely would not buy it. I don't mind a rum note but I'm not big on boozy scents at all really. I don't get why people would want to smell like alcohol, but that's just my opinion.
My first time drinking was blackberry brandy when I was 15! I still to this day cannot smell blackberry brandy without feeling ill 😆
@@jaxbeautifulyou ugh, my uncle used to drink that all the time! Some cheap brand that I can't think of the name. I actually liked it, but it was the good stuff, not what he drank. I don't drink at all anymore and I don't miss it! Once in a while I will have a fruity cocktail at a restaurant but that's rare.

I haven’t tested any of the Carolina Herrera private line. I’ve almost blind bought many times because the bottles are beautiful.
I am really cutting back on the buying. I have several things I’ve tested that I like. I just think it may be time to put some bottles on mercari and make some room for new bottles.
Yes. Sell some and use the $$ to buy new ones. If you are reasonable with your asking price they will sell quickly but if you are tight with your asking price they will take a long time to sell.
I was scarred to test the new Tom ford too because the prices are ridiculous. But…. It’s good. I will definitely wait to find it at a discount.

I can't help but to wonder from people's descriptions, if Smoking Hot is like an expensive dupe of Genre Perfumes Apples and Aces? I have a travel size of the A and A.. would love to hear if anyone has smelled both.
I used to own apples and aces! It’s a fantastic scent but felt it was too masculine. IMO, they are very different. Apples and aces was very boozy with a it of leather on me. Smoking hot is just pure cinnamon apple vanilla goodness with smoke. It’s good, just not for me.

Definitely different. Back to black is a dark resinous honey tobacco scent. No honey or resinous notes in smoking hot.

Smoking Hot made me a bit nauseated. I LOVE a good smoky incense type smell but something about this made me wish I'd never tried it. Funny enough I LOVE By The Fireplace which is very smoky but it's not the same and I hate it.

In defense of Tom Ford the brand 😅, it's luxury through and through. You're paying for his name, his artistry, his status, his influence. It is what it is🤷🏾♀️ I'm biased because he is my favourite designer, so that that with a grain of salt😄. On the other hand, Kayali is overpriced if you break down what the brand is offering. Here in Canada, Kayali is terribly high priced at Sephora.
I get it. I’m a huge Pat McGrath Stan, and I am convinced her products are worth it through and through. Not everyone agrees with that though, so I get when you are a big fan of something, it all seems worth it.

Althair is completely BORING for the notes that it is composed of. With those notes I was expecting it to be more like Oajan. But yeah Althair is a snoozefest to me. It's not bad, it 's just forgettable.
I thought I was the only one who did not like Babycat. I kept trying and trying. Had to be honest with myself and say this is not my cup of tea. I do not like smelling this harsh and peppery.
I felt like I was the only one too, but we are not alone lol 😆
