- 26 is supposed to be German, sorry about that :)
I don't know why I felt such a sudden urge to rank Shanti since I don't like this song all that much. But here it is, I hope you like it :)
The Jungle Book was a big part of my childhood even if it's not one of my current favourites ^^
Am I the only one who finds this song so cacthy and beautiful? :(
Agreed I think it's enchanting.
No me too
OH MY!!! Thanks for the Brazilian dubbing on the 7th place! I've always loved The Jungle Book and this song! A funny fact: the Portuguese version has almost the same lyrics than the Brazilian one, but it sounds so much better in Brazilian Portuguese!
This is honestly the only part of the Jungle Book that I really love. This is such a lovely song.
The editing is really gorgeous, love the colours
Susanne Temper was born in 1948 so she was 19 as she sung this, so it's definately no old woman trying to sound like a child :)
Lol I didn't know there was an Arabic TV dub of this movie xD But the singer is definitely Noha Qaiss ( Arabic TV Jasmine & Snow White). I don't think the Arabic one deserved to be that low, I find her very charming and beautiful :3 From your faves I love Hindi, Cantonese, Hebrew, Brazilian, Japanese and Czech to name a few. I applaud you for making this ranking though, I think I'd stick to a top 20 if I ever made one :P
I find the Arabic voice charming too, but her singing is a bit too wobbly for my taste :/ It was actually kind of easy to make this ranking, and I prefer full rankings when I have all the voices :)
Really nice video :D I mostly agree with your ranking, and this song is truly beautiful to me
Thanks for 24th ranking. BTW Indonesian singer is Merlinda Endah
Thank you for 13th and 2nd place! I never thought my country would be in the top 5!
Not really agree about French dubs, Lucie is really cute here while Claire sounds highly snobbish and almost operatic, not a fan at all
Maybe that's a thing that's more easily conveyed if you speak the language. I am rather neutral about Claire while Lucie's vibrato sounds shrill and a bit annoying to me. Though I do agree that she was a better choice for the song, I just happen to like her less.
Yeah I understand that
Agreed, Lucie definitely sounds better than Claire
Charguigou for me it's opposite, and Lucie is overrated to me. :/
I couldn't rank Shanti, never xD I didn't expect Anita to be that high, but ai'm glad she ended up on the 14th place :D The editing was beautiful and the first place was really well deserved, have a nice day :D
Anita is one of my favourite Disney dubbers so of course she is high ^^ Thanks for the comment :)
26th - Susanne Temper lol
Really amazing ranking ! :D We have the same top 3!
Thank u so much for 6th place! I never expected her this high
Korean singer is Yun Yeo-rim (윤여림).
I'll never understand why every single one of Shanti's voices is so much older than she actually is, isn't she supposed to be 10?! or something like that XD
Anyway, I can't say whether I disagree or agree with your opinion, this is the second time I listen to her voices, so I treat this like a one-line multilanguage :p Favourite versions: Cantonese, Finnish 93, Hindi, Korean, Japanese, Arabic TV, ohhh so turns out I still agree with you overall ^_^ Lovely video still, the background is so beautiful
Thank you ^^ And I guess they thought it was unnecessary to take in a 10 year old just to sing a few lines so most countries just took a well known older dubber? :)
I haven't seen this movie and honestly I wouldn't like to see it either.
I'm kind of agree with my version's place (Latin Spanish) I mean she sounds young and kind of "fitting" but her voice is so annyoing.
And btw, those lyrics are horrible D:
I really like your editing and comments for each version
Thank you, I'm glad you like it :D And I agree, she fits the song but I just don't like her ^^
Great Video! I totally undertsand why you put German at 26th, I would have probably only placed it a bit higher, because I grew up with it... Could you maybe do a ranking of all german voices (Sorry if you already did one, I couldn't find one) Greetings from Germany!
Thanks :) I don't do language rankings, but I have a video where I put my favourite heroine voice in every language so you can at least find my favourite German voice there ^^
Oh okay I'll check that out :) Thanks for answering by the way!
princessly ally
No problem at all :)
the woman who sings shanti in dutch is called helen sheperd
Thanks for 13th and 2nd place :) Though I prefer the 1993 dub the old version is better in this song but in the other songs the new version is just so much better
omg :O tank you for the 8 place
I really am not an expert of Shanti voices and I think I'll never be xD But I like many of your choices, plus that you for 12th place :)
She has such a short singing part, I get why most people don't care about her voices ^^
Felicia Goldfire Ahaha, that's true^^ But I can see she has so cute and beautiful voices :)
Apparently we have a new language here;
Susanne Tremper.
Btw. Croatian dub of Jungle Book is now here, where would you place her (after listening of course)?
She made a mistake. Language's name is "German" not "Susanne Tremper", Susanne Tremper is singer's name.
i love your ranking! but where is the Arabic TV from? where did you find it? its amazing!
Am I the only one who really likes this song. I made a Top 15, but might do a full ranking (I'm working on about ten ranking simultaneously atm). I have a weak spot for Latin Spanish and Romanian. Where did you find Malay, Indonesian & Arabic TV!? And Brazilian in better quality? Anyway, we share some favourites, beautiful video!
I think it's a nice song but it's really short and many of the singers are not that good :) I got Malay from William Meagher and I have the full movie in Indonesian, Arabic TV and in Brazilian in better quality :)
Can I be cheeky and ask you to send me those versions please?
Of course :) www.sendspace.com/filegroup/9PhCAcZsA0ehJLS%2FPdtD9vyQuoOYnkbq
Dutch singer is Helen Shepherd
Susanne temper is a nice language
How did you get the Malay version?
I got it from William Meagher and he downloaded it when it was on youtube
Thank you so much for 7th!
Kristi :')) idk why but I like her and she's always so low but there must be something weird with me :D I really like this song and I can listen to it in any language all day long....
Thanks for Turkish btw
I think you're the only person I know who likes Kristi x) But thanks for watching the video ^-^
Where can you find the song in Arabic TV on TH-cam? It's my fav and I can't find it :(
Jaisa Josh I have the whole movie. I can upload the song later :)
Okay, yes thank you very much :)
I uploaded it on my second channel, Felicia Bronzebird :)
Thank you very much!
Not the biggest fan of this song, but I love the music accompanying it!
Well; this was completely unprecedented...I can't complain though because apparently Shanti is the only Indian 'princess' that Disney gave us. I don't like the English version for a start. Darleen's voice is beautiful but....just too operatic & sharp and it doesn't blend with the Indian setting at all!
As for the ranking; hi-five for keeping the French redub higher than the older; I think Lucie is sweet but Claire just somehow sounds good; she sounds natural at least. I like your entire top 15 except Italian & Korean. Hebrew sounds SO good; I actually prefer her here than as Ariel. And #1, I like her voice but the lyrical flow really bothers me.
I don't care much for Claire but I simply dislike Lucie even if she sounds cute. Italian was lower at first but she kept creeping up :) And the lyrical flow in my number 1 bothers me too, but her voice is my absolte favourite ^^
i think indonesian is Merlinda Endah Setyowati Arifiani and thank you for 24th
Wait, Danish and Swedish singer are supposed to be the same ? Why don't they have the name name ?
They actually do, it's Ulla Neumann in both versions :)
Her name is Ulla Neumann but she has a nickname that is "Sniff". So she's usually refered to as Ulla "Sniff" Neumann. I guess Sniff may be used more in Denmark and Ulla more in Sweden or something so she seemed to be two different people? I don't know.
Hm I've done a bit of research and I found traces of two different artists, one called Ulla Neumann, Swedish artist whose Wikipedia's page mention her work in The Jungle Book, and Ulla "Sniff" Neumann, who is a musical artist, and that I found did some things on Danish television.
charguigou
Are you sure they are two different people though? Because what I found was that Ulla Neumann is a Danish/Swedish singer/actress
Can you send me some links to what you've found? Because The Swedish artist whose Wikipedia page mentions her work in The Jungle Book is the one called "Sniff", I'm sure of it.
Also the Portuguese is adorable
thx for 7th . 3.
At 26. the language was supposed to be German I guess ^^ (I live in Germany, so it's my native language)
Yeah it's German
Wow thanks for 11th place for Poland
Arabic TV is Noha
Wow, thanks for the 8th place! But I don't think we deserve it. :D I find this singer super annoying. :c She sings in almost every Disney movie...
Haha, I agree, she sings in too many movies :) But here's one of the places where I actually like her ^^
