    0:25 is what we call a scramble. If you go out of bounds in freestyle that is one point for 'passivity'. They awarded mongolia the takedown for two points. The coaches were disputing the takedown. In freestyle, if the two periods end in a tie, the match is decided by 'criteria', which means the wrestler with the most recent takedown wins

      Pretty sure they prioritize the wrestler with the highest scoring move, and if both wrestlers have an equal amount of high scoring moves they see who has the second highest scoring move and so on. Only after the wrestlers are tied in terms of points and they have equal amount of scoring moves do they look at who scored last. All this can be overruled if a wrestler has 2 cautions.

      @Apple Account s No but it was passivity. If a person does not engage or at the very least is planning to - that is passivity. This controversy in this situation isnt really that blue got awarded the point, but rather that, thanks to dumbs wrestling rules, that point ended up giving him the win. The mongolian was obviously refusing to engage -which by deffinition falls under passivity, which happens to be against the rules of wrestling. But its dumb as shit that he end up losing the entire thing based on it rather then like in most sports you'd have something like overtime to get out of a draw.

The crowd was going crazy when they started stripping because they knew they were watching a robbery. You can’t call passivity within the 5 second mark. That is why the Mongolian celebrated the referee broke the rule and gave the losing wrestler the win. It was a bit controversy because earlier in the tournament the same wrestler got called out on the fact that he kept getting the same referee and the referee continuously gave calls in his favor. There was an investigation on it. Olympic wrestling will forever because one of the most corrupted Olympic sports and I have no idea why lol.

      @@SilverJt96 It still was an unfair decision since his opponent didn't even try to fight him when he was celebrating, he was only whining, I mean that's equally passive imo, but I am no expert so correct me if I'm wrong

    • @SilverJt96
      @SilverJt96 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@rawsy4769 it was more so that no matter how hard he tried to engage his opponent, his opponent(MGL) already had zero intention of continuing the contest. You could see in the way he was basically sidestepping around in circles. Let's say that they were both equally passive, then the first one to start being passive and disengage from the match before its conclusion was the Mongolian, and in this case, the ruling by the judges is still considered appropriate. They can't give both players a penalty because it is sort of like cause and effect IMO, its like no matter how aggressive you are, if your opponent takes an ultra defensive stance/position/mindset, you will not be able to engage.

      @@SilverJt96 Someone else commented this above: Wrestled my entire life. I’m division 1. For the US team. In fact, I was at this match hahaha.
