- Today, we look at a scenario where Russia has a civil war. Recently, talks of civil war within Russia have been mentioned, but as of now, a civil war is more than likely not taking place. But what if Russia did have a civil war? In this war scenario, 3 different rebel groups pop up in Russia. These 3 different groups all have different ideologies, with 2 of them being communist. With this in mind, who around the world might support these rebel groups? Russia does have a large number of enemies, who are primarily in NATO, so it's likely NATO would help out one of the groups. One thing most people get wrong about civil wars:
The military is not divided, most of the time it remains on the side of the current government.
Modern Russia has a grip over its military, so almost 100% of it would support Putin
Yeah it's just if you could convince them to rebel, but then again that is extremely unlikely.

How I would play out the scenario:
Wagner recontinues the march on Moscow, but they are stopped and the Russian army holds a stalemate due to many soldiers helping out especially from Chechnya. Next, China realises this and sends troops through Mongolia to capture some important locations in Siberia (such as that lake above Mongolia which I forgot the name of). Anyways, this brings Mongolia into the War. And remember the Chechens? A civil war breaks out within the Chechen Republic between those who want to secede from the Federation and the Government of Chechnya. Since Wagner pulled out their forces from Ukraine, the Ukrainians take this to their advantage and make some miniscule advances, though the Wagnerites manage to send their forces back and defend Bakhmut, Donetsk and Luhansk, while the Chechens loyal to Putin hold Crimea. Right now, the Wagner PMC only controls key cities on the road to Moscow such as Rostov. It's at this point that the Belarussian regime secretly supplies Wagner, withholding news of their support from Putin. The Chinese, after capturing some areas in Siberia, stop advancing, and forge peace with Putin, exchanging support against Wagner for access to the areas they conquered in Siberia. Putin reluctantly agrees. Then, with this Chinese support, the Russians push the Wagnerites back before another Stalemate. It's at this point that the Chechen puppet is deposed, and Chechen forces serving under him retreat to fight the Nationalists in Chechnya. Wagner then takes control of the Crimean Bridge, trapping many Russian troops on the Peninsula. It's at this point that Belarus intervenes once again for the end of the Civil War. Chechnya is once again under Russian control, Mongolia annexed by China, China now has much access to Siberia, Central Asia is under complete Chinese influence, Wagner is a powerful asset aligned with Belarus, and Russia begins losing the war in Ukraine.
This scenario is still unrealistic, since by the looks of it Wagner is on good terms with Russia, and the Chechen puppet regime has firm control.

Sorry about my friend there I am the King of an Unrecognized country in PEI, Canada. My Countries name is Alien Kingdom so I sent my cousin as a gift I hope he doesn't get to crazy!
Russia is surprisingly homogenous. Yes, there are the Caucus but aside from that it is mainly Russian. The more rural areas are actually more nationalistic than the cities so I think the idea of Russia falling to pieces is fanciful.
