0:09 ah man i feel old remembering that more than 8 months passed since that stream the " genshin could never" was born cause of it Dr ratio is what made me join hsr and ever since that it became my favorite gacha game
I've been playing hsr since launch but man dr.ratio brung me back and even tho I still play on n off...knowing how the devs treat their players? I'm constantly looking for hsr news and I keep coming back. And while genshin I come back for the story and then dip, I come back to star rail for story, characters, free stuff, and so much more.
For a free character, Dr. Ratio is actually pretty bonkers - especially if you have his LC and SW who can rain debuffs. Now that we have tons of FUA supports (Robin, Topaz, Aventurine), he just keeps getting better.
I completely agree, Ratio keeps aging so well with an incredibly fun playstyle and probably will only become better and better. Perfect way to balance a Hunt unit
I'm very fortunate to start playing HSR around at the end of March. I don't even know there will be a 5star limited character waiting for me. Also, right at time to pull Sparkle. Thank you HSR. As a newbie at a time, having immediate DPS is very helpful. Then another powerful DPS and Sustain released, Acheron and Aventurine. Perfect timing👌

Dr. Ratio helped me clear content that I couldn't before, I wanted to get his lightcone but I couldn't. I'll get it for him on his rerun. Also, he works great with March. I'm still building her but I like her play style.
What HoYoverse is doing is quite clever: they're drawing players in with excellent free options for great archetypes and then offering even better options for those same archetypes. Is Gallagher good? Absolutely! But then they introduce Lingsha. Is Guinaifen great with Kafka? Yes, but here comes Black Swan. Is Pela useful for Acheron? Definitely, but then they present Jiaoqiu. This pattern continues across the board. They're much more generous in HSR, and I think they recognize the value in this approach. I'm really enjoying Super Break; I can clear content with the characters I have, but now I regret not pulling for Firefly. Ratio showed us how fun FUA can be, and now I'm tempted to get Feixao, a character I hadn't even considered until I saw how well she works with Aventurine, Topaz, and Robin. I don't know if we're getting a HTB replacement, but even if we don't, they're still enabling compositions with 5-star characters that people will want to pull for. --- Feel free to tweak it further to fit your style!
New March is one of the most interesting units in game. With her supporting capabilites aswell as being a potentially a main damage dealer in both crit and superbreak teams.
We have to remember that all these cases of Free Characters had very clear reasons behind them: - Dr.Ratio: Players had zero non-limited options for Imaginary DPS and with the addition of PF this would become a wall that many would not be able to overcome and would cause many players to feel locked out of the content so giving Dr.Ratio was the best option at the time (Besides he wouldn't make much money anyway seeing as he was between Ruam Mei and Kafka Banners) - HTB : They exist to avoid a Kafka Situation where an entire game mechanic is locked behind a limited character (If you don't have Kafka DoT it's useless) so players aren't unmotivated to go after Break DPS. - Hunt March: Same reason as Dr.Ratio but this time permanent, in addition to serving as an F2P option for FuA, which is currently the most premium team in the game. So unless the need arises I don't see them giving another Free 5 Star, however I can see them using TB and March to cover areas locked behind Limited Characters like perhaps the next version of TB being a weaker version of Kafka so you don't need her to use DoT (She will still be the best option but she won't be the only one) or a future version of March that serves as a Break Support in place of Ruam Mei, etc...

@@dudemetslagroom8065 I'd recommend getting robin or ruan mei instead. Himeko/herta/ruan mei/aventurine is so fun in pure fiction. İ have topaz but i only use her with Dr ratio once in a while.
If you still remember what the devs said during the 2.0 live stream, they mention that Welt and Himeko will also get a new form as well like March and TB. So expect them would be free units as well.
I don't know about that, March and TB were starter characters, while Himek and Welt are not. I myself don't have Welt. I honestly only see that happening if they give us the base character for free

Not only do I feel grateful as F2P for the free characters, but I think that objectively it's the best choice for the game and benefits everyone, it's what allows the game to have a higher difficulty. HSR content forces you to build different team compositions to be able to complete the endgame smoothly, which is only possible if you have different characters to build that meet this demand. Since they want both those who spend a lot of money on the game and those who don't to be able to beat it, if they didn't give us so many strong characters for free, they would have to reduce the difficulty of the game so that it can be overcome only with the initial weak characters.
Harmony MC will likely be powercrept soon. He's good because he provides a whole new mechanic that only he has access to, he doesn't do it particularly amazingly but only he has access to it. Soon, there will be other characters who provide Super Break or innately has Super Break and do it much better. If you had 2 or 3 Fireflies, you wouldn't need the Harmony MC.
I like hoyo hsr team stf out of people with free characters which get along with new limited characters. So one one gonna complain about noy being able to form team . It's a good thing though.
I havent spent a dollar in the game and was getting by welfare units and the general banner. Hunt March has changed my account for the better in an insane way. I run Pres Blazer, Natasha, Hunt March and then a 4th for her to partner with for the synergy. I've been having a phenomenal time since then, not bothered by missing Ratio.
7:08 i dont agree on this the st in moc is easier for him in apocolyptic shadow a boss like Argenti continuously have summons that you have to kill and when i kill them he spawns a new wave of them Break himeko had an easier clear than him
yeah, people are still coping thinking Apocalictic Shadow is single target focused. It really is not, its break focused. I cleared it with Kafka superbreak and Yunli, Dr Ratio was not even close to full stars
I predict that the next version of TB will be a Kafka Lite, since at the moment DoT is locked behind Kafka so with TB being a weaker version of her you can still use DoT without her even if it is weaker
Let's be real we're going fromwhat this character does to what does this character team does. Like acheron and especially ff are mid unless we talk about their team.
I think that's how it's always been. No character in the game can 1v5 an enemy team outside of SIM UNI. The closest was Blade and even he has trouble with it. This is a team game so how characters synergize with one another matters most.

Indeed they have a great synergy jade doubles blade follow up stacks gain and blade is blast and aoe so he gets jade her stacks quickly
it's a good synergy, but Blade is still bad. His BiS team should be Jade, RM/Bronya, Fu Xuan and he still does less dmg than any meta comp
