I'm not against Ucraine, but it's not prepared to be in European Union and for the moment it's only a pretext for war.
If we get into history , there is a part of Romania that is in Ucrainians territory now and the ethnic Romanians that are in Ucraine don't have the same rights as Ucrainians in Romania. So no Ucraina în EU. We did helped a lot
@@bog1dan Though poo-tin says it's not, russia too is part of Europe. All russia West of the Urals and North of the Caucasus is on the European continental plate and thus part of Europe.
But "Europe" can be other than geography. In a political sense russia certainly isn't anymore and neither wants to be "part of Europe".
Also mentally the russians aren't part of Europe, where I would argue that the Ukrainians are. Especially the last 2-3 decades the Ukrainians, and the Georgians too, have grown a very European mentality. They very much think like, as well as see them selves as, Europeans.
Ukraine is not ready for EU this very moment. But they might become ready quite quickly, when and if they make the necessary reforms, get better control over corruption etc. They're working hard on the latter and things are getting better very fast.
As for their laws it might be problematic to align them with EU laws while at war, and anyway such takes a long time.
Ukraine won't be allowed to join the EU until EU decides that they fulfill all requirements.
I clearly remember how many were anxious and unwilling to let f.ex. Romania, Poland, the Baltic states etc. join the EU. But in just 2 decades Poland is turning into a powerhouse and netto provider (they pay for poorer countries), Romania is lately advancing very fast and could become "the next Poland", and the Baltic states too are doing very fine.
So we had nothing to worry about. And I'm sure we won't have anything to worry about concerning Ukraine. Except the security problem if they don't regain all territory back to the 1991 internationally recognised borders.
Concerning russia, NATO was never a threat to them. The EU, and only the EU, was. But not a threat to russia as a nation. Only a threat to poo-tin's grip on power. EU prevents him from achieving his imperialistic objectives on which he more and more bases his power.
Also the economic prosperity for people in the EU is a threat to his power simply russians because he can't get his people the same conditions, because so much money is spent on corruption and now war.
The EU is only a threat to the russian corrupt autocracy.
Had russia been a normal democratic country then Ukraine joining the EU would have been a gift for russia. It would have given russia as neighbour better access to a large market thus fuelling russia's economy automatically. poo-tin chose to send that possibility down the drain.
@@bog1dan No, Ukraine should not be part of russia because they don't want to, and they are a free sovereign nation with a right to self-determination. And that's why it's so important that all Ukrainians are liberated. For the Ukrainians the occupied people are their family, relatives etc. It's about much more than just territory.
