  • The Book of Revelation has fascinated and perplexed readers for centuries. Some people view it as a code to be cracked, others as a scary book to be avoided. But one thing remains clear: the church needs it.
In this episode, Whit and Casey talk about how we should approach the book of Revelation and its significance both for the historical church and our personal journeys.

I want to encourage everyone watching this to not miss Pastor Willie George's fantastic inspired series "The End From the Beginning" on his Faith Roots TH-cam channel.
It is a very VERY very detailed explanation of the ways Genesis mirrors Revelation and puts the prophecies that point to the end days into very clear context.
I was wondering how much of that study influenced Pastor Whit and how much he is drawing from that series for this one.
This is a perfect in-depth companion study to what Pastor Whit is teaching in this series. So if you want to know more, please check it out!

I've never heard Revelation taught from the perspective of getting closer to Jesus. Seems like it was always a gloom and doom book of the bible.

It's super easy to always view it as a doom and gloom part of the Bible because of the apocalyptic writing style John is using, but Revelation is meant to wake up sleepy Christians, and to comfort faithful ones. It's a picture of what's happened and what will happen. If you'd like to see Revelation more from the perspective of getting closer to Jesus, you should watch this message from this past weekend: th-cam.com/video/pvaLuID0Avs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jz5jJQ9uu34YYG9W

I love listening to all of the Tell Me More About podcast, but especially these that take a deeper discussion about Revelation. I’ve always attempted to “decipher” Revelation instead of understanding the book in the way Pastor Whit is teaching. This series has been so enlightening, emotional and frankly, life changing.

I haven’t heard Revelation from this perspective and it’s so encouraging! And I love that Pastor Whit is talking about obedience. We teach “I obey Right Away” in the children’s area and we adults need to hear it too! Thank you for this awesome series that gives us hope and the ability to keep pressing on toward the mark of the high calling of Jesus (2 Peter 1:4)!

We have found it so clarifying to read Revelation through that lens of "How do I obey this book?" Thanks for listening!
