Enzo almost never roars, so hearing it surprised me because it sounded more aggressive and fierce than Diego's. Even when he and Diego get into minor conflicts or when Diego fights off Enzo for possession of food or space, he never roars, nowhere near as often as Diego since he's more confident, calm and collected, gentle, and knows he's superior to him. You can tell that when the calmest tiger pins his ears back, hisses, roars, and does a fighting stance shows that a nerve was struck strongly. I think Enzo is protective of both Diego and his home, so he sees strangers as a threat to them, especially Diego because of his past experience with Ozzy. Enzo and Ozzy had a good, friend-like relationship, but when Ozzy passed and was removed, Enzo became very distraught. When Diego came into his life, it seemed to have filled the hole in his life, as he was able to gain a new friend, and he grew out of his emotional pain. I think that now, he has no trust in strangers out of fear of losing Diego, which shows the close bond they have. Tigers are very complex creatures, able to display many emotions like us and use complex vocalizations to communicate many messages like warnings, greetings, and distress.
Enzo is very protective of Diego .Ears back ,crouched pounce position ,tail down,that growl and roar was a warning not to hurt Diego .His wild tiger side was showing .He was ready to fight.That first hiss is actually how a very territorial house cat reacts when strangers come by .
@3:22 Dude that face sends chills down the spine. I have seen Diego getting angry. Most of the time, He looks like a cranky toddler. But Enzo is a whole different story. He entirely has a different vibe. When he is peaceful, he looks so handsome and fit but when he gets seriously angry, You see the wild horrifying beasty side of a real Tiger that you never want to encounter in a jungle.
All the dogs barking in the background I’m sure isn’t good for the tigers. Why are people allowed to own animals like this ? Fk rehabilitation smh there’s needs to be a designated zoo for these animals.
Tigers have excellent memories. Poor Enzo probably thought the strangers were there to take Diego away. Last time Enzo acted this way, was when poor Ozzy passed away. Ozzy was such a sweet boy too. His personality was similar to Diego's. Enzo is always so calm and stable. Diego, the "Friendlist Tiger in the World." Diego is actually very friendly, curious, he's just food aggressive. But Enzo meant serious business. I just love these Boys. And very grateful that Michael shares Enzo and Diego, as well as, the rest of the Zoo House, with all of us. Zac and Sockies...always at Michael's side...never saw them separated, unless Michael is with the large dog pack.
@@TravelWithPreston Ozzy was the tiger Michael had prior to Diego. Ozzy had medical conditions...mainly with his front paws, which didn't develop correctly. Due to lack of calcium in his diet. Michael rescued Ozzy and gave him a great life. So Enzo was Michael's 1st tiger, then he got Ozzy. When Ozzy passed away, Enzo, got pretty depressed. Then Michael had an opportunity to rescue Diego...and he we are today with the boys. I believe Enzo is 10 yrs old and Diego is 5 or 6. Hard to keep up with the zoo house. See the video on Michael's channel called... My name is Ozzy and This was my Life. I'm a grown man and I had tears in my eyes. I was happy to see Ozzy strive regardless of his difficulties. At the same time I felt incredibly sad of his loss. And Ozzy had a lot of spunk...sort of how Diego is. Hope this helps you out.

Except, the predators do not see the prey as prey; Diego is especially friendly around dogs and cats. If Michael maintains the barrier between the tigers and others, he could easily bring to zero the possibility of an accidental killing (because the tigers can after all kill even if they do not want to; they simply are too big and strong).

The reason why he doesn't go in there is because he doesn't have a reason to do so. He can interact with them from the other side of the fence and he doesn't want to set a wrong example that it's okay to just go in and play with a tiger.

Nope, I'm use to his tantrums. Normally I would get a bit of a hiss but 99% of the time he would back off showing respect. We go way back and I love him to bits and I don't like it that he feels so intimidated by me. I hope one day we will be at peace again.

I love that Enzo looks at you for assurance when he roars at your friend. He looks and then steps back lol He’s definitely not trusting of your friends but he loves his papa so he tries his best to compose himself but keep his distance and Diego’s walking around like “Sup Broseph”
When Enzo, the generally calm, well behaved and mild mannered tiger, goes full-on predator, you feel that voice reverberating in the depths of your chest. The roar says, "I'm king of the mountain, and you will obey me. Final warning, leave me and my family alone, or I rip you to shreds." I agree with what the others have said - he is protective, because he fears being separated from the Jamison household, or Michael or Diego being taken away from him. That said, I don't think Diego has ever felt threatened in that manner or switched to true predator mode, no matter how much he growls. He only is a cranky teenager wanting his dad to get away from his food when he eats, but is otherwise a very sweet and friendly tiger. I love both of these boys dearly!

Nope, I'm use to his tantrums. Normally I would get a bit of a hiss but 99% of the time he would back off showing respect. We go way back and I love him to bits and I don't like it that he feels so intimidated by me. I hope one day we will be at peace again.

The roar says, "I'm king of the mountain, and you will obey me. Final warning, leave me and my family alone, or I rip you to shreds." I agree with what the others have said - he is protective, because he fears being separated from the Jamison household, or Michael or Diego being taken away from him.
That said, I don't think Diego has ever felt threatened in that manner or switched to true predator mode, no matter how much he growls. He only is a cranky teenager wanting his dad to get away from his food when he eats, but is otherwise a very sweet and friendly tiger.
