Every time I find a new tutorial vid that features the hydrasynth it makes me more and more happy I decided to buy one. This thing is insane. I don't think any other synth can not only loop 5 different envelopes per voice, but also tempo sync each individual component of the envelope to different subdivisions of the master tempo. That's really unique and I didn't even know it could do that until I just saw this.
Before the Sync and Loop buttons were Black Magic on my Sub37CV, demystified. Now I even know they are controlled by wide hands movement in the air, also easy to visualize :) TNX Daniel!
I applaud you for taking up one of the more esoteric features. The Sub37 can def be twisted into all kinds of beautiful rhythm machines and texture generators by using this technique. I make my birds in a forest patch effect with looping EG’s and random stages. One also finds a lot of potential in allowing the LFO to trigger the EG’s instead of a Gate signal from the keyboard (if the synth in question allowing for that patching). If you have 2 or more LFOs at your disposal then try to modulate the rate of one by the other and have the one whose rate is being modulated modulate/trigger one or more of the EG’s. You can really get twisted sounds and fx from all these techniques and that is before an Arp/Seq is used. Gotta love these things. Also, you mentioned it briefly, but if your EG’s have Delay option then this increases the potential of what you can get out of using looping EG’s
Hey, just read about this series in the sweetnotes mail out. Really cool that your doing this series. This clip makes me glad I have the sub phatty. Such a killer feature, like having a custom shape-able LFO, or two of them on the sub phatty and 37. I don’t know what I’d ask if your looking for suggestions. Maybe if it’s not already up, a string patch or a few different types of strings maybe? Thanks again for this series, I’ll be watching them all for sure!
8:20 That’s the business right there man! The looping envelope at about audio rate modulating the filter. Been doing this a minute and never thought to try that (do lots of wacky complex modulations on the Eurocrack but I need to try this stuff on a fixed architecture synth like this)
Hey im an artist who finally bought my first actual studio set up and stuff an studio one 5 was the one I went with but the thing is I have no idea how to even begin to record a song with it yet I started off using garage band on a tablet but this looks totally different. Sorry for the run on but could u make a video on how to record your voice on a beat that’s already made pretty simple and maybe how to use auto tune thx 🙏🏾
When does an envelope become an LFO? When you loop it! Like, Comment, and Subscribe for more sweet synth content - and thanks for watching!

Thank you for starting the Synth Clips Series.
This is such a great series!
Definitely thinking about rolling during the envelope loop
Favorite episode so far, it’s kinda like an alternative arpeggiator technique. Thanks Daniel. 🙌
Daniel Fisher with a Moog Sub, I click.
Love your videos!
I happen to own both, the Subsequent 37 and the Hydrasynth,. :))
But I had clicked anyway.

Till this video, I was pretty sure that hitting both sync and loop together would blow up my Sub37.

Excellent tutorial. Many thanks!
Looping envelopes make me pine for my older Maplin 4800, one of those I never should've sold.

AM with a looping envelope.. nice!
Awesome video
The deepminds complex envelopes are so great....
Hi grant jonsn. Yes they are! -_Daniel_

Hi Jsosa. Good idea! I'll pass it on to the people that make our DAW videos. Thanks for watching!
