Great discussion. Lots of good points. I like the point about not getting hung up on being the best at something, because someone else will always break that record. All glory is fleeting. Your character and personal impact on people will endure far longer than the memory of your professional accomplishments. I've long since lost track of how some particular field problem went, or how my unit performed in a certain rotational exercise, but I vividly remember the inbound and outbound mentoring and the personal and professional development of and by fellow Soldiers.
